1) Maggot Mana Plague is mind control:
It is a directly alters the cognition of the target via supernatural means so to make them more loyal to us. This is permanent and affects all interactions we ever have with the target
No more than Demonic Primacy of Essence is. Mechanically those are the same, and the mechanism for DPE is fluffed as "big scary and powerful aura of archdemon battering the people's mind around them"
8) Maggot Mana Plague is unnecessary:
We don't need to take it to feed our minions. MiS and proper organisation is more then enough.
MMP is not for (most) minions. It's for whampire fledglings and red court half-vampires. MMP is the only thing that we have, and are likely to have (unless we buy... alchemy 5 at least?) that allows for their conditions to be resolved ethically. Also, arguably, it's for Jade Court vampires, who we are going to have to deal with.

Right now we have a teenage girl skavis that will have to kill someone - that's what social pressure will put her to do. The alternative is MMP, with a mild effect of "likes us a bit better". Note that it doesn't actively change her decision making. It is making our actions towards her a bit easier. She's not alone. There are many like her. Not to mention many ghouls. And many red court half vampires.

EDIT: Essentially, MMP is a drug. In both the medical and recreational sense. It's a very powerful drug even. With permanent side-effects. But it's also a wonder cure for a near-lethal condition. I am pro-farmacy and saving lives.

Alchemy 5 also has the bottleneck of needing to research the formula and spend ap and xp on it.

Evdn if we get it we still are limited in hos much we can make by ap and resources.

Well, that's a shame. I was genuinely interested in what we could make of the skavis girl. Hopefully we'll be able to string her along till Halloween, and buy MMP then. Because the more I think about it, the more MMP is needed for "reform White Court" plans and "save half reds".

Anyway, alchemy recipes!

My suggestions:
• A liquid that, when imbibed, removes minor Health Level penalties (through Injured) until the individual is wounded again or heals.
• An incredibly strong super glue, more potent than even the strongest commercial epoxies.
• A potent poison (one with a Toxin Rating of 7)

alternatively
• Unbreakable Mirror: a mirror that cannot be smashed, chipped or otherwise broken by normal force.
- perfect shield as a 1 dot ability. Yes, breakable to magical forces, but still very good

•• A liquid that allows the drinker to go for an entire week with only one hour's sleep per night.
•• Enhance Ability: an elixir that can enhance a specific ability in a person who drinks it. The drinker gains a specialty in that ability for the duration (or +2 dice when it is relevant if they already have one) for one hour per success on the creation.
-Either Craft, Occult, or Etiquette. Play to our strengths. And Occult for Elder Scrolls Alchemy references

The third one is either
•• Ointment of Maedb: When rubbed into the eyes, this salve allows the subject to see supernatural beings. It only reveals that they are supernatural, not their nature.
- We didn't take Hellscry chakra, this is a substitute
•• Polymorph: a potion that allows the drinker to take on a different form, restricted to simple changes within a human framework, and they cannot perfectly duplicate another person.
- Incredibly useful in general
•• Healing: In addition to the effects of Speed-Healing, this potion heals up to two bashing or lethal levels immediately.
- Especially if combined with 1 dot potion, I think we'll be basically making videogame healing potions
•• Speed: Though it shares a name with a common drug, Speed is not chemically related to it. It is much safer, and just allows the user to run twice as fast for the duration of one scene. However, this is still exhausting, and after the scene, the user makes a Stamina check (difficulty 6) or else suffer -2 on all physical die rolls due to exhaustion for the next hour.
- In combination with Wind-born stride it quadruples our speed

Amusingly, I am surprised no one took a closer look at MiM. I mean, I read the 2E version but still.

Here is the context.

She is a balancing force of wickedness against the excesses of the righteous. She inflicts more pain on those she loves than those she hates. No one expects her. She refuses to be understood and torments those who try.

Essentially? She is a Yander and Molly's nature has been changed to match.

The biggest question is what Enhance Ability recipe to take. Etiquette gives us specialty (it's not specified which one, so I'll assume that it works as having a specialty in everything), which, assuming Cha+Etiquette * Excellency = 16 dice gives us on average 1.6 more successes. For Occult in which we have a specialty the effect is +2 dice, or +1.8 dice in case we aren't dealing with the area of our specialty, I think. Incidentally, I think it's a higher bonus in the non-specialized areas.

Yeah, I think buying it for occult is a better idea.

Catching the Wind

30th of September 2006 A.D.

"Believe me. I know the feeling. I really do. I grew up with it, even. I won't provide a magical immediate solution right now, not when you are so angry and not thinking clearly. What I will provide, however, are the means. I'll talk to some people, arrange training in how to fight, provide equipment if you want it."

Though you are pretty sure Olivia believes in both your sympathy and your willingness to help her train with weapons she seems a lot more dubious on the prospect that she can learn these things so you add: "And if, by Christmas, you still want to keep fighting, we'll discuss the topic again. I might have something by that time".

Gift of Inner Darkness for Christmas, you are pretty sure there is a cheesy late night horror movie in that one, the kind you sneak downstairs to watch when you were in middle school. Usum apparently finds your memories of Silent Night Deadly Night Four entertaining. That settles it he really is a part of me.

"Thanks, I... I'll try my best. We are wrapping up a show this month so I could take something with fewer hours to have time for the training."

"Training? What the... what's going on here?" Daniel wanders on in with a six-pack of beer.

The question of how much to tell him is rendered rather moot when Lydia proclaims with a roll of her eyes: "An Akuma, that is a hellsworn vampire, apostate from the Jade Court, just claimed his lord has some kind of claim on Molly's power, the one she found in Arctis Tor and burns steady on the altar of her soul. The kind of thing you expect from monsters with a grudge against history."

She goes quiet for a moment, listening to a voice only she can hear. Whatever words her father said to her they make her look momentarily uneasy. She waves off Daniel's worried look. "It's nothing I just learned that even divine assholes sometimes have reasons for being what they are. Still reasons or no Emma-O must be opposed."

Your little brother does not look... particularly worried about that. "So are we going to drink this or did I sneak this past the check out and the cops for nothing?" he asks motioning to the beer in question.

On the one hand there is plenty of other stuff to do and people to call, but with Anna alerted and calling the others none of it's urgent, so you decide to not let the intrusion ruin the evening. Thus you discover that while beer still tastes fine you no longer get even a little buzzed from it. When Daniel dares you to prove it you jump three headstones and do a somersault over the third to the cheers of at least one of the owners inside six seconds.

"Damn I'm fast," you laugh, the wind roaring in your ears, parting before your will.

A mostly faded memory prods at your thoughts: An object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion remains in motion at constant speed and in a straight line unless acted on by an unbalanced force. That's Newton's First Law though you seem to be less well acquainted with the Third. A bit more testing proves you can't actually accelerate forever, that would be silly. No you can just run flat out at about a hundred and fifty miles per hour and never ever get tired. You laugh and laugh at the sheer joy of motion amid the crowd of still cheering specters.

"Man, that's really unfair you know," Daniel shakes his head with a smile. "You not needing a car and having two of 'em" Even though he is goodnatured about it you're pretty sure there is a kernel of real jealousy in there.

What do you do?

And to add to your headache - what happens if we RVD in an alchemical potion? How does that affect us, or the potion?

The tenfold, 150/hour is the max outside of combat after 10 minutes of running.
So, with By Rage Recast (Swift Stride) that's 300, and with Speed that's 600. Which is ~270 m/s. Still not breaking sound barrier, but close.

I don't agree with the pride argument. This is not Molly giving handouts or something like this. This is Molly evening the field. Our parents got us our first car. They most likely either intended it to be shared once Daniel was old enough, or would buy him his own, but likely lack the means. Molly now has the means. This doesn't need to be about supernatural at all. And yes, I realize that teenagers are irrational, which is why I propose we use an excellency.
