Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

It is a thing he can technically do, but much like being one with nature requires you to understand the oneness of nature, casting in an urban frame of mind would require him to understand how cities and advanced technology works, not as specific pieces of tech, but the underlying principles. He would be rolling Academics and Technology and those are not his strong suit.

It's a shame our training charm has so many downsides.

I would have thought streetwise at least now that he is more familiar with the magic field. But I guess not.

Very glad that Lydia had an adventure of her own. We probably do need to talk to that medium guy next turn, and take Lydia with us.

[X] Try to talk to Detective Murphy about providing security
-[X] Empathy excellency
-[X] Make donuts and coffee for SI who agree to help using the full power of exalted crafting (BSM, TLF, CCC, excellency)
-[X] If SI is too busy, or otherwise can't help, ask for contacts to private security firms she might know; perhaps those with former SI employees.
-[X] [Stunt] You enter the precinct, a box of donuts of your own make held in your hands, and Karrin Murphy waiting for you near the entrance: "So, we are throwing a party fit to wake the dead, and I'd like to ask some SI officers to help provide security. Refreshments for the volunteers are on me. Here, try a sample - I bet they are the best ones you've ever had".

SI providing security for a ghost dance would be good for SI - it would give more people in it exposure to actual undeniable supernatural. Also, who are we taking to the dance?

Hmm... Streetwise could also work and he has that. He would have to focus on understanding Chicago, which he has a headsstart on from making Little Chicago and it would do him no good outside the city, but I think it might still be useful for him.
Yup Harry isn't an Exalted so he doesn't actually get the 'Streetwise' skill. He gets 'streetwise specialization city of Chicago'. Which is cool, but means that he can't just pop into another city and immediately be able to find everything.

Exalted skills like most things made by the Primordials are incredibly overengineered.

You are conflating the necessary abstraction of skills with special powers of the Exalted here I think.

All PCs in all Storyteller-System games get skills like Streetwise, or Firearms, or Melee.
In theory all of these have some reasonable constraints towards what you have actually learned.

See with Molly, our Occult 5 took some time and AP or conversation-choices spend on catching up before we could actually use it.
Similarly our Streetwise would take some time to adjust to a new city. A person with Streetwise 5 would still have a good idea how a city functions and what actors should be there, but would have to find/hear about the important places and people in the new city to apply these principles to get the full value of their Skill, regardless if they are Exalted or not.

Our Melee is a bit of an exception because we didn't actually learn it IC (Molly was propably Melee 1 or 2 from her training with Dad before Arctis Tor), so I'm just assuming our new rating comes from exceptionally strong memories/instincts remaining from the last wielders of our Exaltation, or maybe some affinity for combat itself due to having been a Slayer's Exaltation, or a Dawn beneath that.

Nobody, no time for dating when we have a world to change.
Well, there's a list of males who aren't our father we could invite:
1) Bob - Harry would probably disagree, and we would need to craft him a body
2) Thomas - Harry's sexy brother is a bad substitute for Harry, but he at least should know how to dance. His girlfriend would disapprove though
3) Porter - probably doesn't know how to dance
4) Uriel - is unlikely to respond, sadly. And we lack necessary excellencies (and possibly perfects) to be a good enough dance partner for him

Our Exaltation is almost guaranteed to have been a twilight, as it is almost sure to have been Brigid's in the ancient days.

No, the Heir of Brigid trait is something several Exalted can take, including Lunars or Liminals, both certainly not bearers of her Exaltation.
It just means you remember more of Sorcery in your dreams.

All in all our Exaltation could have been any Caste.
Our greatest starting-skills unearned through Molly's own backround are Occult and Melee and of those even relativly basic memories of ages past would suffice for Occult, while it would take considerable amounts of combined memories from earlier bearers to be good with any weapon.

What about Mouse? He might enjoy a night out.

Well, ok, yeah, but I'm not sure he can dance.
Since when has that ever stopped anyone from trying? :V

Worst case scenario, he has four left paws, but still gets to hang out with some interesting folks for the night. That's gotta be better than another night of keeping Mister and Harry out of trouble.

In general I am of the opinion and many others seems to share it that Exalted powers are always increased to reduce level of abstraction whenever possible. It both makes them cooler and makes things less complicated so win- win. Of course PD seems to be of two minds on the topic.

Mouse is also a bit problematic as a temple dog. Fairly sure his presence would affect the ghosts.

I'm really not a fan of the attempt to bribe with food for something has an established fee structure already. Getting hired as security after hours is a common source of cop overtime, and asking them to do it for refreshments is either unlikely or telling the in-the-know cops that we do mind control.

Why not refreshments *and* money, then?
Would that be legal? I am not at all opposed to also offering money, I just assumed this would be illegal.

It's not just legal, in some places it's actually required for any event which requires a permit. You book them through the department though, so I'm not entirely sure if SI is separate enough that we can guarantee getting cops who are in the know via official channels.
