[X] Plan Primate Murder
Talking about discomfort and comfort zones? It's funny, from a certain perspective you could describe our leading plans as taking cues from Mab.
They both involve becoming an even tougher wall to overcome, being even better at talking people into knots, enhance Molly's ability to do things with her minions, and most crucially ignites the ability to smother people in her aura of power to make them obey.
It's a bit of a stretch in some regards, but I'm hoping the last one is enough of a flag to catch Dresden's attention and make him flip his lid again.
This needs to be covered in an interlude, @DragonParadox.Talking about discomfort and comfort zones?
Lydia is coming home with us and is stuck with us until Monday at the earliest, when she can see Signor Rossi.
Her father'sdeadin a magical coma/sleep, and her home's wards have already been breached by her inviting Corpsetaker in, so its presumed unsafe until someone can look it over again.
Leaving her there is just an unnecessary risk in the meantime, and even going back for clothes is probably not on the table till Monday or Tuesday.
She's only met Charity in crisis mode, when she was borrowing armor.
Now that the crisis is over, its Saturday night; Sunday she gets dragged to church with the rest of the family
Looking forward to seeing Daniel and Lydia squirm under Charity's gimlet eye.
And there's also Mathew, Leech and Amanda to navigate; Hope and Harry Jnr are probably too young to have an opinion.
A big family is probably a very new experience for her, as is a Charity-style mama bear; I get the impression her mother died early.
And if Arawn is awake and riding Lydia's shoulder, he'll be able to feel the place having actual Angelic protection.
Remains to be seen how much of a chilling effect it has on him.
Might be good for Charity too to be exposed to supernatural-affiliated children and see her reaction evolve. We first stuck her with Cindy, who is a newly awakened wizard talent who got kidnapped from the home of a man who was determinedly avoiding magic society. Now Lydia, the fifteen/sixteen year old demigod daughter of a minor death god and psychopomp.
Thats her comfort zone pushed as well.
Oh, and Mathews is now Eldest Ankou, making him a minor god and sensitive to Powers.
He's going to come to pick up Cindy and feel the angelic protection around the Carpenter home. And then realize the Knight is Molly's father, and thats she lives there. Which should do interesting things to his worldview as well.
There's enough shit getting rocked and comfort zones getting disrupted to go around to everyone here, not just Dresden.
Just saying
Though Dresden finding out Molly can literally fly like a comicbook character should be an interesting experience
And by that I mean hilarious
For older sister reasons we should ask them if this time went as well as their first sleepover at breakfast Sunday morning.Looking forward to seeing Daniel and Lydia squirm under Charity's gimlet eye.
They'll know something's screwy, but the Yama kings are all huge assholes, and relatively public figures to a certain segment of the supernatural world.Once word of us working with a Knight spread combined with our vibes the conspiracy theories of what we actually are should get pretty funny. People might think we are an actual yama king out on some weird reincarnation/redemption deal with the white gods permisiion.
honestly what are the chances we try to adopt lydia? Cause her other option is living on the run.Talking about discomfort and comfort zones?

This assumes that the Yama Kings are part of the Dresden Files cosmology, or rather the WoD Yama Kings are.Once word of us working with a Knight spread combined with our vibes the conspiracy theories of what we actually are should get pretty funny. Eh, with her situation, more likely just to become foster parents until she comes into her majority.honestly what are the chances we try to adopt lydia? Cause her other option is living on the run.
Pretty low. Remember that her father had contingency plans in place for her, and that he's still freely able to contact Lydia.honestly what are the chances we try to adopt lydia? Cause her other option is living on the run.
"You are my child Lydia, a princess in exile, but a princess just the same, the mere passage days in the sunlit world will not be your end, not unless the very thread of ages if run to its end and I will not be that tardy, this I vow. Now listen, we do not have long, there are the federal agents outside. There is a chest under my desk that has some gifts for you so that you do not have to go into battle in borrowed chainmail, but more importantly you will find my will, go to Signore Rici and give him the letter on top, he will know what to do with it. Emancipation... ah," he sighs. "I wish we had more time, but as a man more skilled in the leading of armies than empire once said ask me for anything but time. I wish we did not have to do this at all, but most of all in the United States. If the process falls through vanish, fall off the grid until you are eighteen. It will be hard and uncomfortable, but the risk of an enemy, someone who wishes you ill, obtaining custody is far too great."
Yeah, seeing as her Dad is still around she'll probably go with that plan. It's also probably the best plan for everyone.
Personally I'm hoping to turn the dragon nest into a clubhouse. Molly, Lydia, and puff the magic dragon can hang out and watch movies on a projector / perform profane magical experiments or whatever else demigods and sort-of devils do on weeknights.I'm hoping Lydia will let us crash at her mansion when we need a break from Charity.
bitch I want to turn the dragon nest into a fortress/club house.Yeah, seeing as her Dad is still around she'll probably go with that plan. It's also probably the best plan for everyone.
That said, if she did get adopted/fostered it'd make Elaine's appearance really funny, so that's something in its favor.

Clearly the one true tag for this quest is Exp Hell.
Friendly reminder that Exalted don't have untrained penalties to Ability checks, so we can still roll for any Ability we don't have, it's just that the number of dice we add from dots in the Ability is 0, so it's basically a straight Attribute roll we can Stunt.I'm still looking for picking up a dot in a few new Abilities just so we can potentially roll in them, and get more chances at XP. Though either an extra dot of Tech or a Tech Excellency would also be a good idea.
Think DP says he doesn't roll some Abilities if we don't have dots in them, such as Streetwise (though I may have misunderstood what he said.)Friendly reminder that Exalted don't have untrained penalties to Ability checks, so we can still roll for any Ability we don't have, it's just that the number of dice we add from dots in the Ability is 0, so it's basically a straight Attribute roll we can Stunt.
Remember when we got that legendary 5 successes patching that guy up even though we have 0 dots in Medicine?
But… we've made Streetwise rolls. We even succeeded in one to figure out that the parking lot Matthews was taken to was near the museum that got suddenly closed.Think DP says he doesn't roll some Abilities if we don't have dots in them, such as Streetwise (though I may have misunderstood what he said.)
