I don't think my vote is particularly deferential, or at least isn't obsequious.

Yours isn't really that confrontational, but it could be coded as directly challenging or rude and provoke a response. which would shift our conversation away from what we're actually trying to do.

Right now we're a rogue, we need to dodge around until we can stick the knife just right and walk off with the loot. Trying to grapple is taking the fight in a direction we don't want to go.

To want to? Yes. But he's a Knight of the Cross. He doesnt pick his missions. And the Swords dont do revenge.
Michael without the Sword is just another mortal with True Faith. He cant even find her; vanilla mortals need help to enter the NeverNever.

If he got that far, Mab would have him carried home out of deference to Uriel.
And thats best case scenario.

13-9 effectively for Courtesy From a Devil I think, if that counts under Courteous Greeting then the number is even greater, at 19(?)-9.
Staredown says it's in the lead, but Courtesy v2 is split 6 and 6 between people just voting the plan-name and people voting with the whole plan, plus someone voting for the v1.
Also, will Without Honour Without Hope take effect because, well, Mab and Winter?

Depends on how dramatic Mab is feeling. I think the ruling was that the cold has to be broad enough in its area of effect to count as an environmental factor, not just something directly making us cold.

Mab can change the weather if she wants, though it's harder for her this time of year, or start cooling down the whole building. But I'm not sure she'd feel the need to.

Yeah, but we got a ruling a while back that we couldn't make cooling suit to get the effect at all times. It needs to be something broad enough in scope to count as part of our current environment to be used as fuel. That's why we need to make a full walk in freezer to use it while crafting.

I'm not sure how DP will rule this specifically, but my assumption is that if Mab has a cold aura that doesn't fill up enough space to count as an environmental factor for the room that it'd count as something closer to an attack. Which would be no-sold by the charm but wouldn't be a strong enough effect to fuel its full activation.

Is that how this works @DragonParadox ?

Mab does make the environment around you below freezing so much like AC set to full blast freezing right next to you she triggers the charm. Most lesser winter fey, even ones who lower the temperature are not enough to do so though.

We don't sit on the throne of anything right now though. We also, for the record, aren't groveling at her feet. The competing votes are going for being polite, cognizant of where everyone stands, and making use of the tools available to us through etiquette to manipulate the situation to our advantage.

The point you're making isn't worth the price, and doesn't really gain us anything.

Even if it doesn't go sideways it draws energy and focus away from what we actually want to accomplish.

Eyes on the prize; once we've won and kept winning for long enough we can legitimately claim to be a peer. It will be more satisfying to do when it's not a hollow boast.
