You can make two types of super soldiers, either give them the best equipment or biologically enhance them. Either way there will only be limited numbers of them but I still prefer the tech route because this means that out of armor they are still regular humans. Some of the Astartes Legions had issues with not letting their posthuman nature go to their heads, which I want to avoid.
Going to have to disagree here. Drake himself is top of the line in regards to human enhancements and is still very human. Same applies to many Primarchs and even Space Marine legions. The main issue in canon is how the Space Marine indoctrination works since childhood.

With said indoctrination process involving separating literal children from normal society and raising them in Spartan like life style for decades to be turned into living weapons. Which would understandably play the biggest role there. Here it's unlikely to be anywhere near as much an issue since we are likely to have them be made from normal humans who lived normal lives. Also helps in that our society likely already has augmentations on a large scale.

One of the best outcomes is that we can make more augmentations available to the rest of the population. Which I believe was pretty common during the Golden Age of humanity. Heck the League of Votann has it as a standard as well IIRC.

@Oshha Would the super soldier augments be able to become more widespread? Also would we be able to increase our human augmentation knowledge for the rest of our people outside soldiers? Again IIRC genetic enhancements were pretty common in the DAoT and the League of Votann pretty much prove it since they kept a lot of the knowledge from said age while having their populations genetically modded.

Try it and find out.

One of the main reasons I'd really like to go the augment route is to have a stark contrast between a polity that retained a lot of Golden Age of Humanity morals and ethics and then compare them to the Imperium:

*******************
Normal Space Marine: "So you are telling me you're people have your own super soldiers?"

Drake: "Yes we do."

Normal Space Marine: "In that case would you mind telling how you train yours? For I would like to compare our methods."

Drake: "Sure, but's nothing that fancy. We just take recruits from adults of age, have them take evaluations to ensure that they are mentally stable and then train them in a reasonable manner in a way that ensures that as many people survive while optimazing the skill increase as much as possible."

Normal Space Marine: "Hold on, you don't take children from the most feral and deadliest worlds to train into the mightiest soldiers mankind has to offer?"

Drake: "...What?"

Normal Space Marine: "Yes we take children who have lived in the most brutal enviorments possible, put them in the most brutal trials imaginable-"

Drake: "What?"

Normal Space Marine: "-that would guarantee high fatality rats and if they survive they will then be implanted with augments that would kill a further significant amount of them. Afterwards they will for the next few decades be continually subjected to hellish training that would break most normal humans. This ensures that they are broken and rebuilt into living weapons meant to serve humanity."

Drake: Stares in shock, horror and disbelief.

Normal Space Marine: "What?"

I really think we should start focusing on more transhumanist stuff. Seriously, we literally have the science that is best suited for it with medicine, genetic engineering and cybernetics. Would also like to have the more positive transhumanism aspects in more stories. Especially since we are playing a freaking Primarch.

Besides, why is this all completely new? Why is it that they only get off their asses in tech development when Drake arrived. He's not a scientist or engineer and they've long been plagued by enemies. I thought we already have some of these things when we picked them, to Dark Age standards, not that they're the available tech trees available that we'd need to research.

Bladus didn't start with their navy and army having this tech because we chose to basically take a repository of alot of the Confed's tech without it actually being deployed on the planet as seen by the first line army and navy options that we chose to disregard for first line shipyards.

[X] Limitation replication of Drake's supersoldier nature.
[X] Several Promethean-class Cruisers.

as much as I want a Gloriana I don't trust us to not get attacked soon again.

[X] A Gloriana-class Battleship.
[X] A new heavy power armour design for marines and army.

4 capital-grade ships is good, after this I want more small ships.

And armor can be mass-produced, while the supersoldier treatment is explicitly limited in scope.

I believe that this is actually pretty wrong I'm sure. It's outright noted with the Power Armor choice that they are limited to elite even with our tech. Meanwhile super elites like Space Marines are actually mass producible considering that during the crusade that there were around a million of them at any one time. Should also note that the LoV has mass produced augments and genetic engineering.

I imagine that while the absolute upper tiers of super soldiers are limited to elites like power armor that the lower levels are far more mass producible.

Oh, another thing to consider in the ability to replicate some of a Primarch's abilities is that they may also include mental/intelligence boosts. Since on top of physical boosts Space Marines also get mental boosts as well IIRC. Which would be helpful outside combat since they may be able to help with research.

Agree with your take bovine

I just think we need to make the weakest link of the chain stronger before we go into adding new stronger ones

But wouldn't said link be super soldiers? IIRC we already have the best ships and Power Armor from the DAoT even if not the absolute best stuff. Meanwhile our enhanced soldiers aren't actually that much better than Imperial Guards IIRC.

Does it really matter then? Enhanced soldiers from a polity with Dark Age tech being barely better than the Imperial Guard? How the hell does that make any sense?

And I thought the power armor is the kind that can be mass produced @Oshha It says power armor for marines and army, wouldn't army mean the actual bulk of the army?!
