Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Just go out and have fun
-[X] Take Lydia to an arcade where she can play some video games, against people and machines. And Daniel can try to win her a prize.
-[X] Stunt: Steer the group to machines and games which could surreptitiously reveal whether or not Lydia possesses unusual or even superhuman physical skills and attributes such as speed, strength, dexterity, etc.

Mmm, I don't care to pry, but I'm not above seeing if she'll give something away accidentally, especially in a fun way.

offhand what are the limits of said wishes?
The Infernal can grant any of the following: a dot of an Attribute; a dot of an Ability; a dot of a Background; a Merit; or she can remove a Flaw. No character can have more than one wish granted in the course of a year
Aside from the RAW, I think DP has also added that certain Merits are off-limits, but only the most powerful ones.

OK then to the Arcade we go, though the temptation to ask more is certainly there. There will be an action to find out more about her or just hang out on the next turn.

when are we moving to month long turns and how will those play out for how many updates to get through a month on average?

Most wizards avoid the moral quandary of having to put spies on their neighbors to watch for enemies by being rich enough not to have neighbors close by. Dresden seems to have not gotten the memo about money being useful .:V
Maybe he'll get the point when Molly makes herself a 0.1 percenter. :V

Then again, DuMorne raised him and Elaine together, and Elaine manages to live in modern homes with electricity without blowing out all the utilities, yet Dresden has to live in a basement apartment without power or hot water because the electricity wont work.
In a Chicago winter.

So there's probably more than a bit of masochism in his personal magic paradigm

Brawl, and the Excellency for same, is because we might be in a situation where we can't pull out the sword. Say a place where there's not enough room for it, or where we're trying to hide the use of the supernatural. Useful, but not a get 'now' thing.

Mind Hand Manipulation, because it's effectively telekinesis, and is a prerequisite for ranged attacks.

Two ways to handle Brawl.
Either get a telescoping baton. Or make a set of fingerless gloves with internal reinforcement.
That allows you to use Melee as the key ability in hand to hand.

Or you could go full Solar Hero Style, rip a leg off a chair, and go to town.
Or grab a ladder.
Bonus stunt points if you say"I dont want no trabble" :V

@DragonParadox, could we use the wish Charm to remove the downsides to mortals using magic? That would be the techbane in modern times, the curdling of nearby milk and propensity for warts in previous eras, etc.

No, it skips over a lot of problems we can solve conventionally or don't have to solve yet.

In exchange it catapults us forward to much bigger problems as even supernatural powers will be very interested in getting a real genie.

Only if they have some way of knowing what we're doing, which they probably don't.

I mean mortals can use magic presumably its just the wizard type I assume there are probably things that aren't wizards that are mortal that have some kinds of magic. Maybe though?

Now to the most important question, what skills do arcade-games use and is it one we can use Excellency with?

The system seems to use Athletics for just pure hand eye coordination so that is what I'm gonna use Dex+Athletics and Wits+Athletics respectively, for the more reflex oriented and the more quick thinking oriented.

Remove entirely, no it's backed into the fabric of magic. There is a familiar that eats paradox in WoD, which is the equivalent so if you gave someone enough dots in the familiar background they could get that and somewhat ameliorate it.

thats fair though your incorrect in that its always been even a tech bane in canon like you said previously its not always whats cutting edge. Before tech it was pasturization, before that wizards and witches grew boils and warts on their skin, before that stuff like candles could pitch out around them, and way way however many times before that according to jim when humans were cave people or sometime after fire could burn in weird colors. Its not always been techbane the thing changes and its not always anything to do with the newest stuff. Could be in quest in canon its not.

Edit: Also you should say human magic I guess cause white court stuff or others don't have that problem at all even former wizards can apparently bypass it if not human.

Edit: Sorry cave people is incorrect it was actually warts, boils, and weird fire colors at the same time during the period before fuck you milks for normies.

According to Jim Butcher, "Magic wasn't always screwing up post-WW2 tech. Before WW2 magic had other effects. It sorta changes slowly over time, and about every 3 centuries it rolls over into something else. At one time, instead of magic making machines flip out it made cream go bad. Before that magic made weird moles on your skin and fire would burn slightly different colors when you were around it."

Well, I guess Molly won't be bribing Harry into being her boytoy through the power of easy to use modern technology. :V

you may have edited the rules to fit wod and exalted stuff? is that true dragonparadox? Cause canonically it wasn't always new stuff that got fucked it just changes every few centuries and once had nothing to do with tech.

Dresden is very powerful. But also very conflicted, his poor self worth makes his tech bane hit harder. But while Dresdens techbane is bad for his generation of wizards, older wizards can't even use much of any tech at all.

Just put a demon in the tech and make it immune to the tech bane

the idea of harry explaining why he has a demon in his phone is hilarious to me. That or getting a demon laptop and showing the white council modern videos.

The white council is severely hampered by being restricted to low tech options, particularly in the middle of the war. They would love to have some demon planes, and cell phone's.
lol no no they wouldn't their still wary of anything not themselves and even themselves not to say they wouldn't take the deal. Also you know they have contacts who can use said things they just take time to get said information.

Oh he can do that, it just involves putting demons in everything. Possessed tech resists the techbane

As much as it reasonable yeah.

demon does not necessarily even need to be of the evil kind try fucking explaining that to the white council many members of which want to execute him already though.
