This is plan cashgrab with the single cruiser yard and one of the ambulances replaced by three PD dice as i want to keep all military dice active and the cruisers can wait 3 months more now all but one yard is completed.
With two glacier mines and at least a red zone harvesting stage done we can afford to active more dice next turn or activate more expensive dice.

What is it about not being funny, half serious superstitious, clownish and edgy if it is within the rules? We come here intentionally to relax and unwind. Not replay our serious real lives with insane world leaders, fellow countryman threatening you via their stupidity or assholery and the disintegrating environment of the planet.

I think @Dmol8 feels the alarm and disturbance and sense of sacrilege here much more strongly than most of the rest of the playerbase.

If there'd been two or three dead baby jokes, I think some of the rest of us might be agreeing that they were in poor taste. @Dmol8 may believe that the "hail Satan Granger" joke and the 666 reference are as bad or worse than a dead baby joke.

As far as I understand it your argument is that it is just a joke to relax from the real world and to that my counter-point is that jokes are always in part trial balloons to test discussion topics. In this case as far as I can tell the clowning around is a superstitious attempt to keep the dice rolling high because people have already been freaking out about the dice from the low rolls from last turn that got us stuck doing actions that should have already completed.

So this sort of behavior is not relaxing but it is unwinding on the thread itself and an invitation for others to unwind in the same way as well. Except:

I'm getting triggered by PTSD from being repeatedly neglected by my caretaker while they prepared food almost every day and being left in front of the TV to watch cartoons (Cow & Chicken, I Am Weasel and sometimes The Powerpuff Girls were the ones that badly traumatized me since both Red Guy and HIM are deeply disturbing to me where most other Devil portrayals are not) while the rest of my kin were free to go about their business because I was the caretakers favorite.

So I was stuck in front of the TV watching cartoons because I had already finished doing my homework as much as I wanted for like an hour waiting for time to pass watching what was to me disturbing images because my caretaker liked me enough to keep me near them so I don't go out and get hurt in 90s Serbia while at the same time neglecting me because they had work to do.

Later in life I connected the satire of both Red Guy and HIM to the phrase Hail Satan in my subconscious and now even though I'm aware of all this it still fells like a vineyard girder to the face after going around a corner if it just comes out of the blue like it did here.

I've also seen, read and heard of way too many people who like the Hail Satan clowning around going either screaming mad or authoritarian later in life. Granted I've watched Shock Corridor as a teen so that is probably screwing with my expectations with this.

I have one I've found funny since I was 8 years old, but I'm not posting it on this site. That is not what it is for. So please refrain from even as tame as this dead baby joke.
 
@Dmol8 As much as I want to sympathize with your situation, this really is not the place to discuss your personal psychological issues. It's not wrong to share the kind of personal details you just talked about, but a story thread usually isn't a great place for that kind of discussion even on the best of days. (Especially since the themes of this story are, uh, orthogonal to issues of personal trauma.) I believe you were simply attempting to explain yourself, but please realize just how very off-topic these kinds of psychological and societal discussions are. Never mind how very few of us here could even begin to address the personal issues you just brought up.

As for my joke, I posted it because I wanted to make people happy. I wasn't testing anyone for anything. I had no intention of escalating the "edgyness" of it. I wasn't using it as an in-group signifier or an indoctrination tool. The post's only purpose was harmless humor.

Gib money. It's a shame we can't find the money to keep pushing mad science this turn but looking it over I can't find anything I'd actually be comfortable cutting to get 60-90R of research funding. Oh well, income is obviously priority zero on a new plan. I will be wanting to spend our glaciers/RZ mining windfall on research funding next turn to get the clock ticking on our next lootbox ASAP but Q1 just isn't going to work. I guess I could take funding out of Tiberium to find the 30R necessary to finish NOD research at least but.... eh, getting another lootbox 1 turn earlier somewhere years from now isn't worth compromising our income curve this early.
