Anastas Mikoyan's great-granddaughter could get as lucky as the family patriarch but honestly it feels like we're flying a little too close to the sun with a name that powerful lol. Maybe grandpa Anastas will grant us some of his luck but maybe he's dodged so many raindrops by stealing all the luck from the other planquests and won't take kindly to competition.

Wait shit I think I figured out where all our Tib roll luck went....

Wellll…
Cherry picked examples of IRL shitty Latin American populism aside, we've ran the numbers on grants; they're more cost effective with the caveat that significant dice must be spent meaning we'd have more money tied up getting less results. Food, due to its relatively static and season nature is one of the easier commodities to centrally plan, provided the USSR's modus operandi isn't used. Per QM, subsidizing private housing goes towards highly inefficient-and more critically unhardened against Tiberium-suburbs. Taxation, as you said, not only takes several quarters to take effect (though it can be sped up by encouraging formation of powerful megacorporations), the idea that the tax revenue only goes to us is ridiculous given that we don't get 100% of the budget.

There's a niche the collective sector can play with custom, unique and rapidly changing goods, but
Tiberium, high technology and roving INOPS investigations kinda tossed your sort of thinking out of the window.
I just went with the big nearby countries to where I live which I should of also gone with Cuba thinking about it but they are the main current socialist countries. I understand grants are not a efficient way of doing and I definitely agree with that but there have been multiple people stating that anything remotely capitalism is a massive no.
Also @Ithillid how do you calculate business/income taxation? Most businesses fail within the first year so when the first few waves of them come online to offset the ones that fail then I would assume there would be a massive up tic in revenue.

Sorry but it's the political flexibility that does it for me.

I think that Nod, as it is, is essentially too big, too spread out, too entrenched, and too powerful to fight conventionally. Oh if it were just them we'd be able to dominate, we've proven that through three global conflicts. But it's not just them. We've also got tiberium to try and contain and out plan B to get off planet since not only is there the tiberium, but we need to into space for a variety of reasons. Biggest one being the scrin.

As the Qatarists and the warlords near mecca prove, there are Nod we can work with. It's been proven time and time again, during the cabal crisis, during the scrin invasion and even sponsoring some warlords prior to kanes resurrection sparking the second war.

Those we can work with mean we're not spending resources fighting them, and can indeed turn their resources to help us with tiberium abatement. If nothing else simply being left alone while we nom green rocks without being shot at is an improvement.

Can we crush them? yes. Can we crush them while also attempting to clean up vast sections of the planet, prepare a planetary evacuation and get ready for potential scrin invasion mk 2? Not really, it wastes resources that could be spent on better things.

Destroy the fanatics if and when they won't sit down. but for those willing to at least abide by some simple rules there's a space at the table. Moderates we can work with.

No. I belive you are a bad faith actor. And yes, that does make sincere reciprocal dialogue impossible. If I am in error, then this is the result of an unfortunate pattern that you have tragically, innocently, followed.

Good fortune to you.
I asked people for why they were so invested in "Anti-capitalism" for lack of a better term and I laid out my reasons for why we shouldn't go that way but when your first post towards me could be considered as a insult/attack then I'm not the one making dialogue impossible.

If choosing a successor allows us to slightly nudge their growth, we can probably shift this guy's 'politically unknown' to 'politically kind-of-known'

When I am looking at taxation, I am not in fact talking about money.
Resources =/= Money. Resources is, effectively a measure of steel and robots and high performance jet engines. It is a measure of the means of production and your ability to mobilize it. And that plays directly into taxes. Businesses don't produce tax value from your perspective until you can start extracting means of production from them. It does not matter that a dress sells for a million dollars or whatever from your perspective. What matters is the amount of labor and capital that you can extract from that business.

Do you want to know where our Tib roll luck actually ended up?
Despite massive investment in the last years, the Military production sector has proven to be exceptionally clean, with no successful infiltration despite over six hundred attempted subversions in the previous years. While the deep clean almost always turns up something, none of the compliance issues are anywhere near significant enough to bring up to the level of the Secretary of the Treasury.
As confirmed on Discord: since the last Military Security Review, Nod hasn't gotten a single infiltration roll "over 25 in the entire two year stretch".

Exactly right. Political influence in the end is determined by voter actions, while Scientific knowledge cannot be taught to and learned by whoever is the next candidate.

That and by looking specifically at Seo's trait:

He'll be able to learn about politics fast anyways.

Eh, in universe a number of the Red Zones can probably be laid at the feet of big corporations wanting to make profit off of Tiberium before the full extent of the danger became apparent as Tiberium began to mutate to break containment efforts.

I mean. Why else would there be a red zone in the middle of North America?

Tiberium Mutation- next year (can't remember the quarter it hits)

Current fight vs NOD
Last major battle was a close run that came down to dice. We have more so the last few turns put a lot of working into the mil and that will continue to happen, more so as research brings new things to light and the military tells us what they want the most and we roll those out.
