Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I see there is no write in so we can not offer to stay as well and their from them during the half a year. Learning how to shift our foundation would be amazing

[] Let Hanyi speak her mind, she is technically the one receiving an offer.

This feels like not a vote. I doubt anyone if wants to stop her from putting in her 2 cents.

I'd say that it's in Cyan that one's foundations are set and cannot change. But yes, the cultivators do build their foundations in Green.

Also, moratorium.

Path to finally trusting our family to take care of themselves is a go!

2 hour moratorium by default, remember.

Is her time, and her choice

Can't do that anyway. We're a Cai vassal not a free operative. We're here on a mission and have more to go back to. If our house was built up by now we could have probably sent someone to learn in our stead, but Ling Qi the person has obligations.

Hanyi has a record deal too but that's less pressing. It would certainly put a damper on things though.

I dont think it is shifting the foundation so much as having different capabilities due to a different cultivation method. It could probably be seen as more of an Art rather than a Path.
Remember they said they could wear dfferent mantles not thet they were for everyone or interchangeable.

Hanyi is our sister and has the right to speak for herself. That said, I would be super depressed if she got bussed.

Really want to learn more about their cultivation methords. That is how xianxia protags generally become OP. They find multiple systems then combine them into some sort of cheat.

"As she said," Ling Qi continued, missing only a short beat. "Although creating life was against her way, spirit bindings allow spirits to change, yes?"

But Hanyi began to change before Linq Qi bound her. It was prompted by interaction with Linq Qi and it was much smaller than the change and growth she experienced after the binding, but Hanyi was growing and learning as she had never done in the decades before.

I think we kinda need to let Hanyi speak her mind. "One person's desires cannot, alone make a home nor a family", after all. Heck, we learned that while saving Hanyi from her mom.

Btw, I'm guessing that Hanyi will want to go with them, but not now. So I think that we'll have a delayed deal, and we might even be able to go with her if it happens after we are out of the sect.

The mantles themselves probably get even less flexible than Empire Whites, with your ability to be one thing or another at a time trading for the breadth and flexibility of each individual thing you can be.

... You can probably do something similar as an Empire cultivator, actually; we have that "false face" art, and I've no doubt someone could develop that into something that allows switching between "specializations" that might as well be different people.

I wonder how easily someone can switch from an inappropriate mantle, if it turns out they've picked wrong for the circumstances.

On that note -

"Huh, is that why you feel different from the caldera Miss Jaromila?" Hanyi spoke in her stead. "You seemed a lot meaner then."

"I was attuned to a mantle for war at the time, yes," Jaromila said, distractedly.
Did Jaromila attune to a mantle for war in response to the Sect's attack, indicating she can switch very quickly, or was she already in one for the diplomacy? 'Cause if she was already in one before Ling Qi showed up, that has implications.

Her role at the caldera cloud nomad meetup was to be the muscle for her cloud nomad husband, to represent the strength those tribes have married into, as her cloud nomad served as the diplomatic point man.

Hanyi is some percent human, certainly not enough to count as human for the purposes of Imperial law, but it's clearly non-zero and that matters in this kind of universe.

Given the distrust Ling Qi relayed, she must have been at the summit mantled for war, which supports Diomedon's hypothesis that she was there to represent the strength of the White Sky Confederacy.
