Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
The only suggestion that actually seems like a genuinely different path here and worth considering is the suggestion for her to just stand aside from the fight and we'll treat her as a diplomatic envoy. Which is sort of a middle option between "get out of here now" and "pls help for diplo points".

(though tbh given she has little reason to help us, I kinda feel like pls help would just be negotiated to this anyway)
Her coming out with us swinging and cracking skulls would be kind of... a big ask, yeah.

The way she approached us though, we might actually be able to wrangle starstone babysitting out of her. She has plausible deniability while sitting on the stone; it looks like she's driven us away from it. With the strongest Green on the field squatting on it, the cloud nomads focus on other things. If the imperials win, then she'll chat with these strange northern ice girls. If the nomads win, she pretends she was on their side the whole time, and who is going to contradict her? Not the biggest assist, though.

Ideally, we'd all go smack the shishigui dude. More cooler.

Also, you know, the Sect is actually here originally to get prisoners and intel - not to kill everyone.
Well, not right away anyway. That's presumably a step in the standard process at some point. :V

The way I see it is the first two options are different ice lady routes. The third is the "we're not interested in ice lady route" option.

In that framework, the question then is how the first two votes will set up different contexts that will inform how our interactions with the ice ladies play out, and what the challenges are.

Which is why we talk to her later?

And to be frank, Shenhua would step in because she hates chaos while try to build up her province, And war is Chaos

So if Renxiang can prevent the conflict from escalating by using some diplomacy she'll grant permission for it, as it'll be the most expedient course of action to getting this Incursion over with as quickly as possible.
Okay, but how do we get to 'later'? If you mean 'meet up after she escapes' then that's doable if we can wrangle some support. But if she sticks around for the whole fight we don't have the capability to get our comrades to not attack her.

And we haven't even said anything about her husband yet. How's he going to feel about helping imperials fight other Cloud Tribe people? Or how is she going to feel about imperials killing him? Or how will we convince people to treat him like a human being in captivity?

All this complicated bullshit has no place in this fight, we should warn them to run and try to set up a meeting later.

Theres going to be a couple pretty big distractions coming up soon courtesy of the higher realms

I imagine that she and her husbando can figure something out in the meantime

Ask the ones advocating that position, I personally think its absurd

Okay, I'm loosing track of who is in favor of what. If I'm reading this right you don't want to ask them for help in this fight, rather you want them to slip away in the confusion and we can meet up later? I'm definitely in favor of that as long as we aren't going behind the Sect's back on that. I thought you were advocating that we invoke the Duchess's authority to get them declared neutral during/immediately following this engagement.

. . . .
okay.
So we're looking for one sentence with at most one clause to express our desire to follow the plothook. Without overly burdening either (n)Ice Lady or ourselves.
Hmmm.

[] "I fight for the Empire that wars with the Shishigui and 12 Star and I would like to talk to the White Sky that reminds me of my cherished master, once this battle is survived."

Simple concepts of "I fight Empire War shishigui 12 star I talk White Sky of Memory Master After Battle."
Sincere. Clear about who we (and the Empire) are fighting. Clear we (individual) are connected to Ice Ladies and we (individual) would like to talk.

I duno. This is highly unorthodox, but I suppose there's no way we miss pulling the plot hook on White Sky this time
. . .
right?

[] "I fight for the Empire that wars with the Shishigui and 12 Star and I would like to talk to the White Sky that reminds me of my cherished master, once this battle is survived."
That is five clauses, my succulent friend. Rule of thumb: count the verbs.

"[I fight for the [Empire that wars with the Shishigui and 12 Star]] and [[I would like to talk to the [White Sky that reminds me of my cherished master]], once this battle is survived.]"
Seriously, anyone got the perfect song for this moment?

(So call me maybe~)
Hanyi is gonna be Forge Carly Rae Jepsen. Consider:
  • From a land covered in ice and snow
  • Looks way younger than she actually is
  • Pale skin dark hair aesthetic
  • Sings pop songs

Moratorium's up, haven't seen any great write-ins, so:

[X] Tell her to help if she's so interested in you, you can talk later.

May edit in more later, especially if someone has a good take on sharing our lineage.

[X] "Student to [Songstress of Endings] entreats aid for later negotiation."

Thinking about it, I don't believe this discussion ends immediately with either of the "talk" votes. There's no way Elsa leaves immediately, or starts fighting on our side immediately; we're making the opening offer, she's going to make a counteroffer, and things are going to go from there, communicating further.

Means I'm somewhat less worried about taking either of the default votes, rather than coming up with a perfect write-in.

All three of the provided option are kind of noticeably brusque, because that's the kind of mood Ling Qi is in right now. Any write-in we provide is likely to be translated through a similar lens.

[X] Tell her to help if she's so interested in you, you can talk later.

Going with this for now. I don't expect significant help from her, but I dunno. More interested in chatting with her than minimizing political fallout from her getting caught up in things, honestly.
