Well shit. Did they try to bankroll the Blackfyre's or something?
Look at the crimes that Aegon is accusing them of, and you tell me?Well shit. Did they try to bankroll the Blackfyre's or something?
I don't know, but I do know that you all got luck. The next roll after that 70 was a 1
The problem with that is this: The Iron Throne has the ledgers of their dirty dealings, evidence that Bravos and the iron bank actively worked on sabatoging the Westrosi Economy and Iron Throne Tax Base by stealing money, disguising themselves as tax collectors to do it.There is doubtlessly a handful of real crimes sitting at the bottom of a lake of bullshit charges. Regardless, belief is more important than reality and Braavos has given the Iron Throne an excuse to consolidate
That, my dear friend is about to change, drastically. For all of properly recorded history wealth has flowed out of Westeros, out to the Free Cities who were the source for nearly all fine manufactured goods and the Summer Islands and even Yi-Ti due to their being the source for unique luxury materials. Westeros's own economy stayed sluggish to say the least. There was trade but nothing like the vast caravans you would expect to find marching the roads and seaways
Yeah, even though the Targs detest slavery and are more westrosi then Valyrian, they still have the blood of the Dragonlords flowing through their veins.Even if Braavos did NOTHING wrong the same events might have transpired. I'm imagining a host of sins right down to the start of the plot that would cause the Summerhall disaster. Dragons are not a ANY Braavosi's friend.
Yep.And this updated while I was typing. These rolls? The Fuck.
The fuck these rolls. Fuck rolling fuck rolls rolling.
The fuck.
Always rolling on all sevens.
So you want people to start having an identity other then the region they are from, to build something that they have in common in all Westrosi, even if they do not share religion and, culture?Diplomat would be difficult to train up in the wild, which makes it more important to learn here. To be a master of men, to be the sort of True Knight that makes men want to live up to their name?
And, eventually, to lead. To make men feel honored to go through misery, to lose friends, to lose their wholeness and their lives. To make sacrifices and say "I'd do it again, a hundred times, and I would not for a moment hesitate".
The problem is, we are still the leader of our own region. We need to be well rounded enough to rule.alrigth, once we agree to swear the oath we need to select our build for what to focus on. Personally? I am aiming for Diplomat or Steward. Our traits make the former fantastic, while the latter helps cover our friends weaknesses and helps deal with financial shenanigans.
Either way we don't really need to be a fantastic warrior. Stettin can take care of that, Nymeria has the spy ring, and for the others they slot into there own specific spots
the votes by plan, my one does the knight option, did you want to give the oath or not?[X]The Path of the Knight: You will walk the Path of your Uncle Yohn, the Warrior, the Knight, the True Symbol of Andel Culture. You will be a warrior, a soldier, and a leader of men (For the Remainder of your time in King's Landing, you will Master the Art of Combat.)
Because fuck being a diplomat in a Medieval setting. Where people try and impose their modern moralities into a old medieval society where you would get shanked for even trying.
Let's be the Warrior for once. Not the Diplomat....every damn Quest on this site goes the way of Diplomacy due to the players. Let's atleast try...and make this one unique.
Also, just because we choose to be a diplomat doesn't mean we can't train to be a warrior as well.[X]The Path of the Knight: You will walk the Path of your Uncle Yohn, the Warrior, the Knight, the True Symbol of Andel Culture. Do you go to Ser Duncan's Lessons: Rolled:1D100 => 100+5=105
-[X] Yes
Ser Duncan the Tall did the same. He stopped being coy, being nice and caring unless you were hurt by the blade.
He wanted to break you down and build you up into a warrior that would be unparalleled in the Seven Kingdoms, who could defend it from all threats.
And you drilled like a mad man, focusing on every skill that you could learn, from blade, to lance, to shield bashing.
Steffon and Aerys themselves were still above you in terms of skill at arms at the moment, but at least you have raw talent.
Talent that just needs a little more to develop into mastery.
Reward: You are now competent at the Art of Combat. There is nothing more Ser Duncan can teach you unless you squire to him so that he may go one on one with you.
Steffon is now nearing Mastery combat (Our is the Fury Modifier), and Aerys is now competent as well.
Tywin is competent, and Joanna, Rhaella and Nymeria are Competent as well.
Do you Partake in this Blood Oath: (Warning, this is not an average oath, and breaking it may contain severe consequences unless the oath is rendered void by one of the other doing a truly evil act!)
Also I belived someone asked who the main charecter is in this quest: Jon or Arstan?
Does Asoiaf have a main charecter?
No we are competent as well, jumping two ranks from being untrained. So we get a natural one hundred on our training roll and the reward is...everyone else becomes competent in swordplay?
That's a huge disappointment, I genuinely can't describe in words how big of a let down that is.
I would like to say that the people making this pact are children who have just witnessed one of their friends nearly get killed by an assassin. This makes no sense, they aren't making a Oath about their morality so if we make it we should be bound dispite the paths our friends walk, as in; Steffen becomes literally worse then Hitler but we cant act against him because he hasn't broken his oath.
Either way, I am against making that oath. It will either bind us to people we may not want to be bound to any longer given a few years or it will be yet another shounen style "friendship and determination will overcome all" trait and that's just not entertaining.
