You know, we've been able to reach rank 756 without actually having any of our Cai arts up and running. It's going to be interesting to see just how far we can go with our Cai arts and LFotWT equipped and running. Especially with our new resist talisman. Good luck stopping us from getting our fields of death set up now.

ok, so @Black Noise did some calculations about the Water pill and it seems that it will always have a positive value if we train at least 2 water arts with it. If we can train 3 arts with it, we can potentially get really good value out of it. We currently have 2 water arts that we want to train and we still want FSS+ and FVM+ in the future, so taking it and saving it for a future turn sounds like a safe thing to do. As a result buying the Trench Swimmer's Pill is now edited into the plan.

(The potential Water turn would be far into the future though, like turn 10+ or so)

Important question: if we're going into DARKNESS MONTH, do we have enough eyeliner and bad poetry stocked up for it?
Darkness month isn't this coming month, it's the one after; we just needed the right drugs.

But yes, I insist that the thread prepare a playlist of the most absurdly grandiose emo/nu-metal/whiny-alt-rock music for it. Bonus points for specific references to the darkness inside your soul. So far I've got "Demons" by Imagine Dragons and "Haunted" by Disturbed.

Good thing too, because we'll never get anywhere near our goal at this rythm.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile to target Meng affiliates and embarrass them in duels. Be like ok you can cause problems but i got tons of new blood coming up itching to elevate their families if you're not on board

I think The Sound Of Silence fits the bill for Ling Qi doing a Darkness training montage.

For the music playlist, Poets of the Fall has the sort of sounds people might be looking for or maybe the Old Gods of Asgard.

We won't.

PLR and SNR still need a ton of training. Then we have HDW/SES to master, as well as RME to train. As well as all the meridians.

And we'll hit G4 month 9 with any luck.
To explain it a bit more, while we are super excited about the Ebon pill it's less "this is insane gains from it" and more "it is very convenient in how it works and it's a net positive".

The Ebon pill works by giving 1AP of Spirit training for every 2AP of darkness arts training. Given that once we get 4AP of spiritual training, each added AP is worth 0.5AP, by its very nature the Ebon pill means it will be a turn without any invested AP into spiritual. The current plan is to get 14AP of darkness arts, which means 4AP + 3/2AP of spiritual training gained, = 5.5 free AP of spiritual training. Considering Senior pills cost 4AP, then the apparent net gain is of 1.5AP.... except that it also gives Quality of Life and combos well with the darkness pill we already had.

Quality of life is obvious: Having to mainline spiritual cultivation every turns means it bottlenecks every arts significantly. +4AP of darkness arts next turn compared to what we'd otherwise at best have means more or less half a turn 'gained' art wise.

As for the combo, we are currently using a +60 to dice darkness pill with it. Normally, it could at best only apply on 10AP, but it's going to apply for 14AP, which means +240 dice. While this is just worth 0.8AP or so by itself, there is gains by making breakpoints easier to reach.

Now, the water/physical pills could arguably give much higher 'numbers' in AP gained, but it's also much more unwieldy in how that AP manifests itself and as such the actual gains from it would probably be less than what numbers would say, while the opposite is true for Ebon pill.

why only 14 ? Shouldn't we be able to drop more AP in darkness arts since we wouldn't use the usual 4AP in spiritual cultivation ? I think we only have 6 mandatory AP useage (4physical , 1family and 1tutoring)

We're already dropping the normal spiritual cultivation, that's how we got up to 14 AP instead of our normal max of 10 free AP.

Like, you point out we have 6 mandatory AP. We get 20 AP total. 20-6 is 14 AP.

looks like PMR and MoSS are leading p hard without me changing my vote? That's neat, since we'll be getting MSS next turn anyway or something
