It may be possible but would be hard, you saw just how hard it was for Ridcully to reach Isha and even then as soon as he touched the door the alarm was raised
Basically they would need a chosen of Isha (the Everqueen) to act as decoy and their has not been one for a long time
Speaking of, don't the eldar have any better assets for getting to Isha than Ridcully? Ridcully's specialty is divination, not stealth, and presumably the eldar would have some dedicated stealth experts.

  • [X] Deploy Imperial Trust Titan Hunters- A mix of Fellswords, Northern Sentinels and Knight-Titans should be enough to take out the Bio-Titans, though not without losses.
[X] Send Reinforcements when needed- While the troops lost will hurt the time brought by the reinforcements is worth it. Current
[X] Deploy Super-Elites- Between your Helguard, your Psykers, the Eldar and the Astartes you have a massive force of elites, even a tithe of them will stiffen your defences significantly. Current
[X] Use new general poison as soon as Tyranids adapt but save bio-titan poison

Yes that's been the case for a while...

Like we asked ages ago and in the event of a rescue op Rid's role is likely going to be limited to some scouting since he's good at that.

I mean he does have stealth he's rather demonstrated that, but yeah he's not really much aid in getting Isha outof there.

In the event of an escape I'd wager Karandras leading a bunch of stealth specced spirits...big maybe on Corvus and if we can convince HWWO pitching in.

In any case no Rids is not going to be doing that.

Grábakr War Part Seven: The First Test
Grábakr War Part Seven: The First Test
T=14:18:00-21:18:00

You decided to continue with your current deployments with the exception of deploying a unit of Titan-Hunters to Region Two in order to counter the Tyranid Bio-Titans. This proved to be enough to hold the line in most places, though a worrying number of infiltrators got though in Region 3. While losses over the last week were if anything lower then those of the proceeding week they are still eating into your reserves. More concerning whoever is that fact that the Tyranids have started to grow various organic structures in their landing zones, structures that seem to be allowing them to field a larger number of bioforms on the ground without eating into the psychic bandwidth available for naval operations. While currently their total numbers active on the ground have only increased by a fifth, given enough time this could increase significantly. This is the first time that you have seen Hive Fleet Grábakr utilize anything like this, probably because none of their enemies on the ground have stood up to them nearly as well as you have. Fortunately growth rates seem to be increasing in a liner manner rather then exponentially. Thanks to your correct determination of the target of the Bio-Titans attack and deployment of a large force of Titan Hunters the Tyranid Bio-Titans were destroyed without inflicting to many casualties on the defenders, a fact that you can attribute to how heavily outnumbered the Bio-Titans were, you suspect that if forced to fight them with numerical parity it would have gone far worse.

With Bio-Titans beaten back the war turns back to the grinding battle of attrition that it was, leaving you to decide just when to pull back and move on the the next stage. You will have to decide just when you will nbeed to pull back due to attriction and how compromised you are willing to let a regions defences be before you pull back.
[] Pull back when defences compromised(Tyranids win roll)- Pulling pack as soon as your defences are breached ensures that you will be able to retreat in the best possible order and that you do not lose forces in anything but the best of conditions.
[] Pull back when defences breached(Tyranids win roll by more then 25)- Fighting just a bit longer will buy you some more time in neighboring regions, without increasing casualties buy to much
[] Pull back when defences broken (Tyranids win roll by more then 50)-Fighting until the position is totally untenable will buy as much time as possible, at the cost of large numbers of lives.
everytime a region falls it will increase losses in neighboring regions by a third and provide the Tyranids with a +10 to attack and infiltrate rolls as well as rolls to cut off retreating forces
[] Abandon all regions as soon as one falls- You dont want your men cut off and annihilated
[] Abandon a region as soon as both its neighbors fall- Being attacked from three sides is to much pressure for your defences to handle.
[] Fight to the last- Buy every day you can for the main fortress
select as many of the below as you want to retreat when you pull back, the more that retreat the greater the chance that the retreat will be overrun and all are lost
[] Militia- Your militia are the worst soldiers in the war, and can only hold when behind sturdy defences.
[] Regulars- Your regulars are the majority of your armies and can meet the Tyranids in battle in all but open warfare.
[] Elites-Your elites make up a good fifth of your troops, and are your only forces able to meet the Tyranids in open battle and win.
[] Super-Elites- Your super-elites are are and valuable, being the only forces that stand a chance of meeting the Tyranids on their own tearms and claiming victory
[] Fall Back when your forces drop to 75%- You want to conduct the majority of this war from in the fortress, you will deal with the overcrowding
[] Fall Back when your forces drop to 50%- You want to fight as much of the war as possible from in the fortress, but are worried about overcrowding being an issue
[] Fall back when your forces can easily fight from within the Hvergelmir Prime Fortress (15% left)- Make only your last stand in the main fortress

I'm in favor of pulling back when compromised with as many troops as possible, the first line has held but we don't want to compromise our primary defences for it, time for an orderly retreat.

Best case scenario we hold the primary defences until the end of the month, but even then we've held them far longer than really expected.

this is where I wish we had steathed ICBM's (keep in mind that BM's are already inheriently very hard to detect since they have no emissons at all since they rely nothing more then their ballistic trajectory to get to where they need to and their speed to do damage....so stack on a steath effect of some kind and I imagine most forces would have a hard time even knowing that the explosions are coming from the sky

also, since ICBM's can be fast enough to be nuke-sized, even if the nid's catch most of them, we would only need a few to connect to their structures.

edit: I just realized that hyper-sonic would be detectable due to sonic boom...so many not THAT hard to detect unless you use some kind of explosive to up the yield dispite being sub-sonic (like void-bomb?)....but STILL, we got DAoT avalable!

we should look into that for the future.

Ok we are still holding the front line and looks like next week we will have to start pulling back. I want to leave the militia and the regulars to hold the line and pull back the elites. Also just taking the middle of the road options.
