[X] Plan: The Might of the Cai

Thinking about it, I like the idea of ruthlessness and a bit of battle joy being part of her character. We don't need no hesitation.

[X]Plan Gank the Snek
-[X]Use the TE AoE damage to eliminate the bandits and clear line of sight for CRX, take care of any leftover bandits still looking to fight while we link up with Cai and buff. Have Sixiang ask for permission and coordinate our plan to take on the snake with CRX. When CRX and her soldiers join the battle and distracts the Bai, have Hanyi draw the snake spirit while protected by LQ and Zhengui. Zhengui and Hanyi should keep it in place as LQ uses FSS to eliminate it as fast as possible. After defeating the Snake, join up with CRX and her soldiers to fight the Bai. LQ should use FSS as main attack, but use FVM to trap him, if it looks like he will run

[X] Plan: The Might of the Cai
-[X] Begin the Spring's End Aria bolstered with Echoes of Absolute Winter (With relevant Arts augmented with Joyous Toast), and clear the board and airspace by detonating Traveler's End, taking advantage of the paralysis effect to Lunatic Whirl any of the surviving Third Realms or enemy rangers to neutralize them. Regroup with Renxiang and company (Recalling our Beasts and playing taxi if needed) to face the rogue Bai, and support her and the platoon with our arts from Harmony and Thousand Ring Fortress, relying on Zhengui and Hannyi to be contest his own Spirit Beast's control of the battlespace with the support of the rest of our unit. If we get a chance at a sneak attack of Call to Ending, take it, otherwise, let our liege take the lead here and back her as best we can.
Do we have the time to spin up SEA etc? From the sound of it the Cai line is Close and mounted. We want to trigger TE Before they get into the mist.

I think this plan play to everyone's strengths the most. Our spirit team is well-suited to draw out and kill the snake, while it might wreak havoc amongst the Cai troops if unchecked. CRX and the troops with their layered defenses are better at taking on the single archer, and once the snake is down, we can add to the pile. I think seperating the enemy cultivator from his spirit beast is important, as the two would be used to work in tandem, and are probably devastating if unopposed. Right now, he still thinks his army is mostly alive, TE explosion will be a surprise, but the lone Bai will still be a menace alone. This plan is a good approach to deal with him, I think.

If she just detonates TE without a second thought, wiping out scores of people, that is how easy it will be for her to do it again.
I don't expect it to actually kill them or at least not most of them. True there is no such thing as a perfect non-lethal attack, but Travellers End seems as close as anything effective can be.

Anyway, have to go to bed, I'll answer any questions on Might of the Cai before I go to work in the morning.

Yeah, I think at this point that our best move is to detonate Traveller's End to eradicate the chaff,

The only reason I worry about this is the wood and blood echo when Ling got a bit bloodthirst, which pinged me as what we got off of Sun when we fought her. Is this a memory of the bloody moon dream, or is there a bloodlust technique in play?

The Bai are absolutely isolationist and not that great at social from what little we know, but they aren't goddamn utterly stupid like this fool.

Opponents should not be assumed to be stupid. Either we are missing info or he is, and the chances are much greater that it is us. So... What sorts of info would make this a smart play for him? Second hidden backup dealing with our backup? Disguise talisman? Agreement to defect and formally pledge loyalty to the Sun if he survives? Idk, and it worries me.

But he is completely stupid, in that there is no way Shenhua would send CRX out on a test like this without someone watching to make sure she doesn't die. Even if CRX fails here, CRX will still be one of the few Cai around; Shenhua's not going to throw a resource like that away.

We are running up against the limits of our information- we don't know enough to know what Shenhua could or would do, we are guessing based on thirdhand snippets and some limited commentary from her obviously traumatized daughter. Likewise, we know very, very little about either the Sun or the Bai in terms of internal politics: there are plausible scenarios for a bunch of different possibilities including the obvious one, which is that the Sun are using a catspaw to disrupt the Bai/Cai alliance.

[]Plan Gank the Snek

I don't actually think Cai can take the Archer without help, so clearing distractions and preserving our forces keeps retreat options alive.

For what it's worth, I think your plan is solid too. I think nath's is basically the same, only goes into less detail (which should be fine, imo, LQ knows her arts, we direct her goals, not micro-manage what tech to use when). The addition that makes the other plan worth voting for, imo, is the idea to separate the Bai from his spirit beast. both of those are high threats, pulling divide and conquer with our superior numbers seems very advantageous, and our spirits will be much more useful in a brawl against a giant snake, than trying to catch a mobile archer. If that happens on the main battlefield, the snake will probably dirupt the ai soldiers way more than with naths' plan, though.

I'm pretty sure that with Ducal Bullshit CRX should beat the archer, or at least last long enough for us to finish the snake. As for why him announcing himself would work, well we already know about doppelgangers from WormyBoy so focusing on "him" could be risky if we don't spool up defenses and stay on guard. Which, we will be. So we *should* be fine . . .

This chap would have worked a lot better if it had been from the Point of View of one of the Early Green leaders.
I feel this was a missed opportunity.

I'm rather confident it's moon because Sixiang grumbling is mentioned right after it.

A huge thing to consider is that by linking up with cai we also make our units targets :( I dont think our buffs are enough to defend against spear arrows of melting death.

Atleast by having him focus on us as we dodge theres far less unit death

I'd bet on Renxiang having the advantage if the Mud Scrub gets seperated from his pet snek.

Since a one on one between him and Renxiang is really more of a three on one, thanks to Liming and the Sword Spirit. All of which are at least at Green Foundation, the same as her.

Its not exactly an enviable position for him to be in either, given Ducal bullshit :V

Mmm, I don't like leaving Renxiang to fight a green 5 by herself. There seems to be a lot of assumptions in the snake plan that the troops won't be busy fighting the bandits, and I'm not sure that's safe to assume.

I also think that a buffed Zhengui can keep the snake busy fine.

[X] Simple five-point plan
-[x] immediately detonate TE to even the odds and clear the way for our troops. See if we can catch the Bai in the blast with a quick dash forward, but don't worry if he avoids.
-[x] lock down the greens with LW
-[x] move to support Renxiang et al. with defensive buffs (though don't spread expensive techs like HRA around on everyone - keep those to the greens)
-[x] Hanyi: ranged dps support. Help our troops fight the bandits if they need it, otherwise Zhengui. Do not pull aggro from Bai or his snake.
-[x] Zhengui: keep snake busy while Renxiang and we engage Bai

I'm saying that he's a fucking moron by claiming to be a Bai as if he's not and he doesn't die, the Bai-Cai alliance will torture the shit out of him for info and as retaliation (And if it's one of the Sun like I think, then hooo fucking boy...). Or, in the unlikely event if he actually turns out to be a Bai, the heads of the Bai would come down on him like an avalanche for a) being so fucking stupid to break from the Head/Main family edicts so publicly, b) showing up and doing the attacking themselves, and c) trying to ruin an alliance that's good for the whole for his own petty reasons. The only way he can avoid this is if he dies and the bandits manage to get away.

Either way, flat-out revealing himself and claiming to be a Bai was two stupid moves that'll hurt him.

[X] Plan: The Might of the Cai

Gank has some weird assumptions, like that Six can speak to someone several hundred meters away. We never seen such range from them, at best they could talk to people in the same room. And that it wants LQ to coordinate a plan with her grand war skill of F. Let those actually good at it like CRX work out plans for themselves here.

I guess that depends on how solidly the Bai main are in charge, and how big of a player this dude is in terms of backers internally. Setting up a situation where it's lose/lose/lose seems possible here- lose if the bandits get away, lose if the 'Bai' is identified and gets away (because it shows the Bai as unable to control their own territory), lose if the 'Bai' dies and there is enough political support for him that the thousand Lakes suffers a civil war.

Basically, there has to be SOME reason he's announcing himself, and I don't think stupid braggarts with no sense of consequences make it to Green 5. I'm willing to bet it's because of a trap card of some kind, and support from other Bai subclans makes the most immediate sense.

On another note, we've got two and a half greens plus a mess of yellow/red on our side, vs two (three? Five? By three groups of hidden archers plus two group leaders) low greens and a green 5? Assuming red/yellow enemies are dealt with by TE.

[X] Plan: The Might of the Cai

[X] Simple five-point plan

Both of these look really similar (I mean all of the plans kinda do, with a lot of consensus on detonating TE being worth the loss of our qi drain on the chaff by clearing up the battlefield for our allies and immediately pressing a numbers advantage, before going after the surviving bandits to ensure no escapes or shenanigans). The only difference I can really see is the setup of SEA -> EoAW -> TE or just go straight into TE. I slightly prefer @Erebeal 's plan because it's simpler (just like the name says :V ) and I think it gives more leeway for @yrsillar to write up more awesome scenes, but I think they're both fine.

Also RIP dragonfly spirit. I dunno of its cultivator was able to return it to his dantian before it got nommed to death (a la Pikachu return pokeball style), but from what I saw in the update it looks like Zhen got a new snack instead.
