@Enjou
Just as a remainder, we can equip our PDF in power armour, drastically increasing their efficiency and making our armies much more powerful. It would be nice to do so ASAP.

In other Lin research ideas, maybe we could focus specifically on Mathlann (is it how that's spelled?) their traitor sea god, who the Eldar don't seem all that keen to talk about.

For equipping our pdf in power armour, it can wait till the nids are at the door.

Honestly think we should equip them, fight the incoming wars and then mothball it to save on upkeep until the next large conflict.

Equipping them takes 40 action-years, which means we need to start now if we want to finish before nids arrive.

The upkeep is small, something like 3.5 million AM an year, less than 5% of income even before trading or new Mechanicus buildings. It's really not worth it.

I'm definitely for getting us some of that super fancy powered armored pdf. Though, I also really want advanced power armored hellguard. If I recall correctly, the difference it makes is rather significant.

What's the difference between Psyker Hunters and Witch Hunters besides the organization that sponsors them?
Psyker Hunters are effectivly Helguard who get +10 to all actions and an additional +25 against psykers and +15 to resisting psychic powers.

Witch Hunters are effectively Helguard who get -15 to all actions and an additional +70 against psykers and +60 to resisting psychic powers.
So, Witch Hunters are better at their job, but more specialized.

I still think the Grandmaster Psyker Hunters and Jane (and the doubled batch we trained last turn) will be able hold the line until Lin dies and we can use his successor's less valuable time.

Same reason the AdMech only has two people capable of doing research.
I mean, that part makes sense to me. No one else is nearly as competent as Tranth. And our Biologis have to deal with Avernite shenanigans, so they only allow 1 research project at a time for safety reasons. I can totally understand that part. Lin though, doesn't have any assistants or anything to help.

This kind of thing is literally what his job was meant for. It just that he gained the ability to do things that any other person can't do. So this is actually literally his job and he does have a ton of people helping him. Note, that he only has to do something like this every hundred years or so.

*pppsssstt, its durin doing OOC balancing* cough, I Mean: Its because of left over bureaucratic redtape and obfuscation. given time we will be able to root out and remove the rules but for now they are too embedded in our governing rules. The reason we know that they are there is with the use of robotic assistance. Why don't we use those robots to help us remove the offending rules? more bureaucratic redtape.

it does kinda seem like we should have asked him if he could promote someone else to his own position and then have him move himself to a .....diffrent? position.

Can we come up with a list of safe (non-Primordial Sea) things for Lin to research?

Right now I have:
1. Eldar Pantheon (some were created by the Old Ones while others were not, and the Eldar won't talk about Mathlann)
2. Sanginour (we know the basics, but how did he become what he is, and is there anything in there we can exploit or add to the Created God notes?)

Again, not seeing the point since again it's liteally his job and he is likely the most qualified for it considering that witch hunters literally work off of faith and the training involves reaching the highest skill level possible for the proffesion.

@Durin, did we complete the Created Gods research yet? Because it was counted as a success on Turn 127's results, but the Religion post wasn't updated with its information and it's still a research option this turn.

the point is that the most important thing he can do for us is his unique research seconded by the planet-clensing....the other priests might not be AS good as him at priestly dutys...but they can't do those 2 prior mentioned things at all, so have them do the things they CAN do so that lin can focus on the things that ONLY he can do.

in theory, (if durin let us) we could get 1 or 2 more actions out of him per turn...or something like that. that could end up meaning several more planets clensed and/or researchs done....done at the cost of having his priestly dutys done by someone is merely "very good" at said dutys instead of superhumanly good.

We will eventually have to relie on said "very good" priests eventually anyway, so its a cost of really just 30-50 ish(?) (I forget how many years left lin has) years of lin-leadership for the benefit of several lin-unique actions. which I think is self-evidently worth that cost ...

if we could take that at least
the issue however is that durin doenst want us to have more actions. So its moot point really.

@Durin
I assume the reason why is because your running into DM restrictions of how much you can organize, (1): have you considered getting DM-assistants? this quest is certainly big enough for it.

(2): this is more of a question for anyone, but also durin. Have you heard of any quests that had multiple DM's to split the workload?
