Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[X] Ino does not look happy. She needs you now. Go find her before she gets too far away.

I doubt our team would go well but even if we do fail the test, I doubt we would end up in the genin corps. We are well connected with many of the clan heads and a high political target.

Ino needs us, fuck Mariko.

I wonder if we can get our sound-based genjutsu to do the worst possible thing to the enemy ninja:

Make them suddenly and irrevocably aware of their tongue. And that it is in their mouth. Just...there. And wet. And large. Did it just move?

That, or make them breathe manually.

I was talking about the history presentation. She wasn't paying attention, but she also wasn't the only one. Daisuke singles her out and threw chalk at her, that is the beginning of the escalation there.
she was talking during our presentation. the other people who werent paying attention at least had the decency to keep their mouths shut

Gonna shut this one down right now. No. Just no. For one thing, no write ins on this vote. For another... what has she done to you over the past seven years? Be mean to you when you were seven and tried to use a jutsu once? That's the equivalent of a light shove.

Okay, though I agree with your statement that she hasn't done much outwardly towards us during all these years, attempting to use a jutsu of unknown proportions on an allied Shinobi-in-training is a huge no-no. That's the same as aiming a loaded gun at someone with bullets that have unknown effects on the victim.

[X] You may not like one of them, but you have a team now. You should make the best of it. Go find Kiba and Mariko, and have lunch.

People. please calm down. It is a bit harsh to say the administration is incompetent because they put us with Mariko. There is a perfectly logical explanation for it:
They are hazing the new jounin. Kurenai must have pissed someone something fierce. Either that or they saw how bad Mariko and us got along and decided to throw a puppy at the problem to see if it fixed it. Also, Kibe might not gawk as much at mother if he is busy having hots for teacher!

Seriously though, I am unsure if them giving her this team is a show of how much they trust her (she has us) or if it shows that someone does not want her to teach. Then again, in canon they gave her the offspring of three clan heads and in filler she trained another clan heir so... yay?

Given our team includes Rookie of the Year and still includes Kiba, they're not likely setting us up to fail here. That would be stupid. They likely trust her to succeed with this team.

Anyway. I'm going with Ino personally to support Ino and also so Ino can support US. We're PISSSED right now, so expecting us to somehow keep cool for lunch doesn't seem like a smart idea.

Take some time with our best friend to cool off and maybe we'll get a cooler head. Just not right now when it's still fresh and raw.

I actually disagree with your metaphor here. There are NO bullets that can possibly do anything less than impact their target and impart kinetic energy (excepting blank rounds, which are not actually bullets). There are some with additional effects, but nothing with less.

There are plenty of Genjutsu which have negligible effects or even potentially benevolent ones (though there are few benevolent ones, admittedly).

Okay you made your point Luvin and as much I want to bond with the ultimate bro Akamaru. There have to be one of our priorities.

She was the most egregious. Pretty much everyone else may or may not have been paying attention, but they were quiet. Just like how they'd be for Iruka. She was deliberately talking in class and ignoring our presentation. Can you imagine her doing the same thing or Iruka standing for it? No, so Daisuke did what Iruka would do and target the biggest troublemaker and get the class back on task. If she had an actual problem with it, she should've let Iruka know and take care of it(Which he did - badly - anyway) or pull a prank on Daisuke or something, not attempt to attack with an unknown jutsu of unknown lethality! If you get called out and/or have chalk thrown at you, there's no fucking reason to escalate to a jutsu! Chalk does not equal jutsu!

Seriously, I don't get what's so hard to comprehend about this.

Ren was making doodles and giggling in the back and Chōji was eating loudly during it.

Choji is a loud chewer all the time and Ren was giggling quietly(The text even say "muted chuckles"). Mariko was deliberately talking loudly and made no effort to disguise such.

Just want to say that while we are friends with and care about Ino. We aren't going to be able to hold her hand for everything. She is upset. But going to her isn't going to change the fact that we aren't on her team and she isn't on ours. We can meet her later at her house when tempers aren't as hot. Right now, we should set some ground rules with Mariko and meet up with Kiba before Kurenai comes in. Lets clear the air before meeting our new teacher.

Which always confused me. Why AREN'T there more benevolent genjutsu? Hell, why has no one tried time compression before like Tsukiyomi? The amount you could do with time compression is insane. Not to mention stuff like Therapy genjutsu and stuff.

Yeah... I'm not very good at making metaphors, though I hope I got my point across a bit. :p

...Clearly, you didn't fully read what I said. I said that Daisuke can't be seen as trying to deliberately fail after just becoming ROTY. There's a bunch of reasons why(Which you'd know if you read all the comments in the thread rather than cherry pick), but Daisuke c

I did read it, and all of it doesn't matter. In the end, Daisuke can just keep doing whatever he wants, and even if he dies, that might not be the end.

I completely disagree. I really don't expect us to be at all civil to Mariko or Mariko to us right now.

Right now Both of us are have just had our emotions riled. It'd be like staying in a quest thread when you get pissed off. Rather than keep going on something where you're not thinking straight with a person you actively hate that would most likely make things worse. It's better to leave the thread and do something else and then come back when you're head's cooler.

Edit: Going to the teacher is out because that's just us whining. Hence Ino our best friend to support her and so she can support US.
