Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

Check yo facts son.

Sakura is number 11 as of this update.

And my point was Kairi effectively participated in 3 clubs to Sakura's 1 while still keeping up her grades to a comparable level. Shows that she can handle alot of work.

I don't care if she's not the statistically perfect pick for this, and funny thing is Sakura isnt either thanks to the blow up between her and Ino.

Kairi has shown a solid interest in drawing Daisuke, something we can offer her for her help. Sakura is keeping us away because we have always been Ino's friend first.

So I'm picking someone smart, clearly able to handle the work, and who could be persuaded to help.

Sakura was at Rank 10 when I last looked. It must have been edited in recently. I think it is also arguable that Kairi is better for this task than Sakura. At worst, they are equal. Also, what does Ino have to do with this. Sakura is our friend to. If Ino has a problem with it then it is her problem. I would also ask you to consider the optics of going to Kairi over Sakura.

Consider this, we asked Ino for help when we were practicing our Genjutsu. Because of her help we rose in the ranks and so did Ino. Sakura knows this, we didn't make a secret about this. Now how does this look if when we need help on a project, a project that of our group of friends Sakura is better suited to helping us than Ino, that we go to someone else who isn't in our group and ask for help. It looks bad to me. Like we don't acknowledge Sakura is a good fit for this task. Like we are taking sides in this sort of thing and avoiding her because it would upset Ino.

I also think this would be good for our relationship with Sakura. We could reaffirm our ties to her. We have been spending less time with her and more time with Ino because of their disagreement.

[X] Kiba's right. You need to narrow your search. Instead of just researching the era, you'll focus on one specific thing.
-[X] Late Warring States Era: The period right before village formation.

 We're 170 XP away from outright mastering the Bunshin

Guys, I think simple clones are going to become part of our combat style...

@Vesvius: How much Ryo can Daisuke make selling Bunshin Scrolls? Sure it'd be nearly useless for shinobi other than not having to waste their own time writing and/or teaching it themselves. Yet surely Daisuke could find some interested civilians, maybe even get more people interested in (practical) applications of Chakra.
Sadly, the scroll doesn't teach people the jutsu on it's own. It more provides a 'For Dummies' style manual that can give people a step by step guide on how to learn the technique on their own, with how good the scroll is depending on Daisuke's level of mastery on the original technique. Some civilians may buy one as a curio, but without a grounding in chakra it won't be much help.

It's a thousand year period, if my experiences as a history major have taught me anything it's that the answer is always to focus.
Thank you I'm glad to see someone besides me and a couple of others gets how much damn work we are talking about in character. The thing we are trying to research could sustain research push for years likely decades maybe lifetimes to craft comprehensive and factual overwiev (no doubt with holes still) and we are trying to do it in less than 3 months with 3 people (4 if Sauske is included).

Hmm... Does Daisuke understand Chakra enough to at least give helpful advice, if not an outright step-by-step for unlocking Chakra?

Problem is, for what reason will Shikamaru help us? He may be smart but he is also lazy. I doubt he will do an exhausting project like this just because we asked.

Even if doesn't help us directly he can give us access to his clan's archives which are certainly more informational than the average Library.

So, Sakura. On the one hand, research genius. Sakura is academic queen of our generation, and we all know this. If we bring her on, she'll absolutely dominate the research and help us put together something clever, insightful and clear. The cons, however, worry me. For one, Ino. Right now, her and Sakura are Not Talking. With CAPITALISATION. Asking her help might piss Ino off something rotten, and I don't want that, to be honest. I like Ino more than Sakura. On top of that, we're not that tight with Sakura. Look at the relationships in the main menu- she's holding us at arm's length. She's also going for Rookie of the Year herself. Helping us with out history project actively hurts her chances. We are not close enough to get around that.

So I'm kinda stumped. Thoughts?

Really, Ino shouldn't be much of a factor in this decision. If Ino has a problem with us going to another friend to help us with a project then she really isn't being a friend. Ino should recognize that. We aren't in Ino's camp, we think they are both being stupid and are trying to stay as neutral as possible. I think asking Sakura for help would also repair our relationship. Sakura has been shown to somewhat look up to us. Going to her for help shows that we respect her abilities and authority in this field of study. In exchange we can also help her in an area she may have trouble in. As for RotY. It was actually Ino who declared she was also going for RotY, not Sakura. And with Ino rising in rank, I think that will light a fire under Sakura and try to do something to get ahead in rank as well. Sakura is competitive but more with Ino than us. If we can help Sakura get better and rise in class rank then I think she will also help us.

Changing my vote a final time.

As previously mentioned it's better to focus, less is more, quality over quantity, and so on.
And more importantly it sidesteps the entire Sakura and Kairi argument/drama. If you want something to be done right, you do it yourself.

sigh... as much as i want to rope kairi into this i have to agree with those who have said trying to cover a THOUSAND year period in the little time we have is a fools errand, no matter who we get to help us. changing my vote once again

I'm kinda ambivalent between the two subvotes, but I slightly prefer this one. Why? Because maps are awesome!

Specific, visual and applicable to current history.

Okay. Fair enough. Given that Ino is likely to be upset by us doing this (even if you're right and that's her not being a very good friend), do you feel our relationship with her could recover if we do this, given time?

On the same subject, do you feel there's a way to mitigate that damage in advance? Tell Ino what we're doing before we do it, that sort of thing? Because if we can do that, most of my reservations fall by the wayside.

Okay, did NOT realise the scale was quite so vast. Do you feel the offered alternatives (or suggested write-ins) are ambitious enough that we could still impress with them?

If all of us that want to focus can consolidate on one vote it would be better. I think it will be very hard to get a hold of this information, clans are very secretive. We could maybe get something out of Ino, Kiba and Sasuke. If someone can convince me I will change my vote.

Yeah... after rethinking it.

Know thy limits Daisuke (me)

Also, neatly avoids Sakura/Ino drama

Yeah, in some ways it'll be better if you can bring in some actual figures, quotes etc. It allows you to bring in a face to the presentation, which you couldn't do with a broader focus

I maintain that I think people are making a bigger deal out of asking Sakura for help than it it. But I may be wrong. Ino is our best friend. Will she maybe be upset that we ask Sakura for help? Somewhat likely. But Sakura deep down is also Ino's friend. I don't think asking Sakura for help with a project will destroy our friendship. Will it maybe test it a bit or strain it? That is possible. But all friendships need a bit of strain every now and then in order to forge stronger and better bonds.

The thing, that put me off is the timing. Graduation is just around the corner in way, whatever damage we might create would have to be dealt with in a short period of time. Otherwise we risk neglecting it during our time on our new genin-team.
