Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

He'll probs still get shoved in a team with Kakashi, Sakura and Assume. Thank fuck for that.
I thought that this quest was going with the interpretation that it was Naruto + Rookie + Sakura under a jounin? If the Rookei isn't Sasuke, the jounin likely won't be Kakashi. (Not sure, I don't have access to Discord)

This is why I'm worried about shooting for Rookie, and would prefer to double our training regimen or something.

I think part of the problem with this vote is that it makes it a Rookie / Not Rookie vote, making it sound like either we get Rookie or we get nothing. People are interpreting not going after Rookie as giving up / not putting best efforts, instead of re-allocating the effort from Academics to other areas.

It would probably be better if Rookie was one of the things we could do with our time, and we got other choices. For instance, if we had a vote between Rookie / get 12 Acquaintances (Contacts) / train Academy ninjutsu, it would be an actual contest with us deciding what to do with our time. Each would aim for a useful achievement too.

With the current "not Rookie" vote it is uncertain what will be done with the time freed from studies. Still, I've no doubt that we will train something useful.

Why are people assuming that us being top of the class will put us on team 7? Both Naruto and Sauske are earmarked for Kakashi's team regardless of their ranks. Vesvius has also said each team will be 2/1 gender split. Which means the 3rd person on team 7 has to be a girl. We were never going to be on team 7, unless we picked a girl in character creation.
It is ambiguous which interpretation is being used for team selection. It could be Naruto + Sasuke + girl with Kakashi is gonig to happen, or Rookie + Naruto + girl with a jounin is going to happen.

Without Discord I can't confirm either way, so hopefully someone can shed light on this issue.

[x] Yes. You'll go for the Rookie of the Year spot, the achievement that goes with it, and everything it entails.

Well, half the problem of team 7 come from sasuke, so it's not gonna be as bad as canon I guess? We just need to beat him till he shut up, or distract him with something else... maybe Gai. Besides, I feel that they rig the team assignment in canon anyway.

Sasuke is put on Kakashi's team because Kakashi is the only sharingan user in the village who can train him on how to use it.

[X] No. You have far better things to focus your time on than forcing your grades up past four more people. You'll let this one go.

If nothing else Naruto makes Daisuke act outside his normal routine, which is fun.

RotY seems nice, but I'd prefer to run Quests and boost stats over a mystery box. Personal opinion is that the best options generally aren't locked behind limited time content. That might be a little meta, but that's how I'd expect it to go.

-[] The Academy Three
-[] It's Under Control
-[] Genin Level
-[] Independent Study

I don't want to get stuck with academics or what the Academy thinks is important. I would rather set our focus on what we think is important.

I posted my reasoning in an older post.

Can we at least agree, that outside the academy and until the graduation we put our focus on improving our stats

...
Edit:
@Vesvius Can I add the priorities of the far better things?

Really, I'm just doing it for the cheevos. Naruto's an annoying shit right now, and Daisuke hasn't been characterized as some saint.

EDIT: Though we might want to talk with Sakura a bit too. She seemed very affected by what he said, and given her uncharacteristically positive reactions, maybe it can help us bolster both our friendship with her and her and Ino's. Seems like she feels bad about not being included, so that's one place to start.

going for rookie will probably have us training the three academy jutsu and many of our skills as well as they matter to the ranking, So i'm not too worried about failing to achieve the relative achievements. And really, i'd be ok with us failing, but not with us not even trying.

As it has already been said many times, being rookie is no guarantee we'll end up with Kakashi. Or Naruto. I suppose our next votes will have an influence on that as well. After all, depending on what we do we might catch the attention of different jounins with different specialties.

It feels a bit selfish to go just for top spot.
We would have to set back a lot of time just to make a noticeable change in our academics, not to mention everything else Sasuke is better at.

In my opinion it would be more beneficial to push the stats and achievements we want together with our friends.

Team Protagonist has too many unique opportunities to help fix the world for us to ignore it. It also means being able to befriend (and help reform) the biggest powerhouse in our year. He's obnoxious, but he *can* be taught. Ino-Shika-Cho is strong enough that we aren't going to wind up on a team with Ino anyway. Also, if we do wind up dying horribly at some point, and the achievements carry over in some fashion, it'll be useful to have that one knocked out, on top of whatever benefit it gives us in this life.

Problem, Sasuke is still going to wind up with Kakashi. He's the only loyal shinobi in Konoha that can teach him how to use the Sharingan.

This means that if we do take the top spot, we wont get the same sensei

Doesn't seem like we've put in a ton of effort into befriending Sasuke, why go out of the way to get the same Sensei?
