Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[X] You are going to beat him until he gives you your fan back.

This can be our John Wick moment and a chance to try our hand as a hunter-nin.

Intimidate: Practiced (300/400) (Reward XP Invested: 61)

Perform: Adept (590/800)

We know, that we won't actually cripple him, but he doesn't. So it's a chance to really drive the point home.

You step over the line and there will be dire consequences especially as a shinobi.

An excuse isn't a defensible action, you did wrong and you know and regret it. Daisuke getting angry at Naruto is fine, totally understandable and reasonable, but taking out that anger on him, less so if there is a better option open to us.

TO US, TO US. I'm arguing from the standpoint of Daisuke. I don't care about our feelings on the matter, I care about the character. We aren't using it as an excuse, we're voting for it because it is a natural reaction.

Why did your vote and reason contradict each other? One seems like you are going to be threatening Naruto the other says you'll just fight him.

I'm fairly certain that after beating Naruto and taking our fan we'll have a chance to exchange some words.

Edit: Naruto has to realize that we are serious, that he stepped over the line and that he will have to pay the price.

As am I, Daisuke can be angry over the fan being stolen, but that doesn't mean that he has to pick a fight with Naruto over it, he could talk to him or simply take it back given the options. The options aren't weighted either, so there is no reason to choose one option over another mechanically, so it comes down to why you want Daisuke to react violently over this level of provocation when we have other options. I want the counter-prank option to win because it has a far better chance to have positive social contact with someone who really needs it then choosing to fight him, fighting Naruto in a schoolyard brawl does not guarantee productive conversation with the kid afterwards; prank and counter-prank does; talking to him does.

That is you wanting to gain something, Daisuke is not you. His fan was stolen, this kid annoys his friend, he is not in a social mood right now.

My issue is that you want to make Daisuke treat this like a big joke, it isn't.

The quote earlier seems to disagree. You are not arguing for Daisuke as a character, you are arguing for a social contact with Naruto. I shouldn't even be arguing tbh, the best vote is currently winning so meh.

[X] Explain to Naruto that he stole a prized possession given to you by your mom and you would appreciate having it back. If he doesn't give it back, then you can go ahead and beat him until he gives you your fan back. Diplomacy should be attempted first before moving on to other forms of aggressive negotiations.

And you choosing to fight Naruto is you wanting to gain something yourself, a certain response to events occurring to and around Daisuke, the fact that you are anthropomorphizing it as solely his IC actions means nothing.

Two things can be true at once, I have given you my personal reason and a reason that Daisuke might use, if you want to attribute to a character that level of personification you go a head just leave me out of your tantrums in the future.

We aren't reacting violently, the current vote is for us to explain the fans significance and ask for us back. If he refuses, THEN we use violence. Keep in mind we are in the middle of trying to mend fences between two of our friends. I see no reason why we would indulge the whims of a petulant child acting out because his crush will not pay attention to him.

We don't know if that is the reason why he took the fan, and not indulging him is perfectly fine, I just prefer the counter-prank option.

That alone you may have tried to look past, but well…
...
...every day. Everyday with this guy.

And it's every day! He won't stop! No matter how much Sakura says no!

He was after something much more important.

Your fan is gone.

...

Uzumaki Naruto just stole your fan. And replaced it with a shit one.

Daisuke started the day annoyed about Ino and Sakura. As he was about to make some progress in solving their issues, Naruto's entrance ruined it while simultaneously pissing off one of his friends. Couple that with an already existing dislike for Naruto's stunts. And now the little shit actually went ahead and stole the gift of our mother.

I don't think Daisuke is feeling inclined to be diplomatic right now.

And it was elected to get to the bottom of Ino's and Sakura's problem instead of acting rashly, now doesn't have to be that much different overall.

My reasoning for talking first is simply that fans are fragile and odds are good it's going to be smashed in the scuffle.
Likewise, prankwarring Naruto increases the future risk, because we play along.

The best odds on recovering the fan is to either engage in diplomacy or tell the teachers.
Beating him up, given Naruto's sheer durability, ensures that its going to break long before he does.

I really wanted to go with beating his ass until he give it back. But, Gai be piss at us if he found out. Though telling him is a prized thing given by mom could spark some jealousy and give us more trouble...

[X] You are going to play along. Steal your fan back when you get an opportunity and replace it with an even worse fan.
