I don't think there's enough reason to merit the hatred of the land of iron since our father was lenient even if Tokei went murderhobo and we're a bastard so we really don't rightfully own any of it.

it's a samurai's sword. It should be chakra-conductive and the equal of any not-named ninja sword at the very least. I mean, Samurai must have some advantage over the ninja, and if their swords are not one of them...

Also i want to mix the gates with everything i can think of.

the higher gates give more chakra -->overpowered ninjutsu mixed with the taijutsu?? By reducing the moving around it might probably help not damaging the body as much.

gates give more speed --->maybe iaido? no matter how fast or strong you hit, a sword slash tends to be more dangerous than a fist. Imagine if Lee with 5 gates was using a sword against Gaara. He would have cut him in half

Yeah, probably would've just broken the sword tbh unless it is additionally reinforced somehow. I just don't think any non-artifact sword will do a good job not snapping if it actually meets something it can't instantly cut at those speeds and with that kind of power.

If it's hard enough to break a chakra-reinforced sword it's probably hard enough to break our hands.

Wow. I'm shocked. Both Vevius and Tokei were far more merciful than I thought.

It's actually kinda of disappointing. Not that we didn't die of course, but with how remorseful Tokei was, I genuinely think persuasion was a valid option. We could have promised to never turn on Iron or double down on how he was our protector and also the closest thing we had to a father.

Hah, last update I was all for killing and screwing him over, but after seeing his regret and how much killing Daisuke did pain him, I'm sorry that he did die. That's whiplash from good writing and characterization for you.

Speaking of which, it's somewhat heartwrenching hearing Daisuke scream his lungs out at the police-though on a side note, Uchiha really do make great cops since they can knock someone out with their eyes-which with combined with his despondency makes me feel like this event scarred him. Even if Tokei was trying to kill him, Daisuke didn't exactly want to kill him in return which just makes me feel guilty for so quickly looking over the possible speech option.

We can't run away or hide from this issue forever, but for the moment, let's shelve it for another time. Daimyos, revenge, and countries are far too big for a child.

This option is a trap. I freaking know it. Remember his sister is expecting a baby boy who she was going to name after her brother Tokei. What's going to happen when that kid grows up? He's going to go seek revenge for his uncle and namesake wielding his blade.

Instead of replacing ourselves with logs with the Substitution Jutsu, we replace ourselves with straw men.

Alternatively, Unlimited Straw Man Works

Besides the fact it is a Samurai's sword, there are valid reasons to pursue Kenjutsu. One, typically more deadly and more reach than punching. There's gonna be all kinds of Jutsus and Tricks that would be especially dangerous at punching range.

Two, even once we do unlock Charka, having good Kenjutsu would let us avoid unnecessarily wasting Charka. Additionally, it gives us more options for Charka Flow techniques, than just punching people.

Three, we can't even hit Master rank and above without narrative reasons. So building up useful skills now, so we can switch to them once our current focus caps.

Besides, I'm sure we'll be able to spend Personal XP soon enough to artificially boost stats and create Perks. Actually...

@Vesvius: I feel overreaching, but I wanted to make sure you noticed. Besides my above question, I wanted to know if we could create skill-boosting Perks. Like "Gai's Student" accelerating our Taijutsu and Physical development, or "One Strike" giving us a bonus to successfully killing things with the first unsheathed strike of a blade.

Seems like most are. Many of their techniques requires them to imbue chakra to the blade.

One could say that although Tokei's actions were dishonourable his blade acted in the name of justice.

It was literally wielded to protect the innocent.
