Didn't we heal plenty of patients the 'slow way' until we came close to running out of Mana?

Even so, it's not very pragmatic to use our one or two questions to criticise Neph over making a dramatic mass healing. I am surprised that option is voted as highly as it is.*

[X] "Who is the optimum candidate for transplanting the Mage gift into Nanoha?"

Let's not forget that is the reason we came to this plane.

Edit: * I swear that was one of the top options last time I looked at the tally.

Eh... that stuff is important, but more of an end-game concern. Neph's precog doesn't extend far enough into the future to give us useful advice on questions with such enormous scope.
Neph's precog seems to cover our potential actions and their short-term outcomes within a scope of about a year, right? This should be enough to at least preliminarily tell us something about the filter and active countermeasures (ie "will Eldrazi-equivalents appear if we release immortality recipe?"), and maybe about Earth (though that's unlikely).

After careful consideration I've decided to re-read story by re-reading the entire thread. Since my RL work just slowed down enough to consider re-reading this.

May god Angi Agneyastra have mercy upon my soul.

.... though I ponder if I should do a "DB Reads Ignition <Insert pithy catch phrase here>"

Oh, this, this I like.

[X] Any advice about Agneyastra's Djinn abilities?
[X] "Who is the optimum candidate for transplanting the Mage gift into Nanoha?"
[X] (If there's still time left) How long it'd take to make a summon bond with Sigurd? How much it'd clash with our other plans?

Why these things:
1) Agneyastra's djinn abilities are needed for Unison, and unison is needed to be able to punch in the trule >S-class range. Which we'll need during JS incident.

2) Nanoha before Mitra - prioritization that Mitra will herself insist on, if given a choice.

3) Sigurd is important as our go-to expert on (semi-)divine beings, and a good counselor in general. I expect him to be super-helpful when dealing with Thedas, for example. We need to be able to summon him. Not to mention that just leaving him back is kinda dickish. Plus, having another adult around (and a male one at that) should be good.

What kind of time are we maybe looking at typically? Days, weeks, months?
"Longer than landbonds," she thinks. Neph actually suspects they might be linked to landbonds, but hasn't confirmed that yet. It doesn't help that if you start to rely on her too much, she never (fore)sees you doing the research / learning the answer and so never learns the answers you wanted.

EDIT: Bah, I should've just waited until after the next story post instead of prematurely sharing all this info. Sorry. ^^;

Better give the update quickly to contain the damage.

Also, interesting in general: Book of Darkness can win against everyone involved. Meaning Jail + Precia, Olivie, and us. What the hell happened to it? Agneyastra should be, roughly, its equal alone.
Maybe the Guardian Knights bound to it are stronger? We know at least one of the canon Wolkenritter isn't actually one of them, unless it's a clone or something. There could also be more of them.

- Is it safe to try channeling or overchanneling other colors?
Need to get this one out of the way quickly, since it affects our training schedule. (Channeling may speed up skill acquisition for its respective color.)
While channeling White would be nice, we don't have anything useful to train with Black and Green. Besides, we're at 0 Green motes.
-> low priority, ask later

Advice for handling Indira? During the Jewel Seed incident specifically? How should we respond to Indira's desire to be acknowledged as a proper Agni? Any major hot-button topics to avoid? Should we try interacting with her regularly, with the aim of shifting her alignment?
The most important concern overall. How we initially interact with Indira will set the tone for the relationship, and has the potential to affect the lives of hundreds of billions on the MGLN plane. We need to know whether it's possible to keep Indira from stirring up trouble, or if conflict between us is inevitable. What are the best approaches Neph has seen for dealing with Indira? I'm perfectly fine spending two or three Q&A sessions if need be.
We didn't use the clones for social shortcuts (dialogue trial runs), we shouldn't exploit Neph either. Besides, 1 year is far too short to see all consequences of e.g. reinstating her as an Agni.
Foresight places our first meeting with Indira after the JS incident, right now she probably hasn't even visited Kladenets yet.
-> only ask about pitfalls, don't fall into the 'Golden Limit' trap

Low-hanging stuff on Nanoha's plane we don't know about, or tech we should prioritize grabbing?
Important for planning what to do after the Jewel Seed incident, especially if we decide to head to Thedas before the war ends. Should we activate Kladenets? Leviathan? Agni relics we need to grab before Indira does? Most of these concerns are time-sensitive.
-> Added for later, not relevant for several weeks

- Tips on Siofra's origin/affinities?
Less essential, but useful for training. More importantly, not something we can otherwise learn except through painstaking trial-and-error.
-> Already on list

- Nanoha's mage gift?
Low priority overall, but we're thinking about performing the operation soon, so it might get bumped up. The mage-gift will be a permanent increase in Nanoha's capabilities, and we received a previous hint from Neph about turning Nanoha into a demigod, so there's value in querying Neph about it.
The transfer is soon, later changes are far harder, and Jade cares about Nanoha. Bonus for potentially being urgent enough to ask without raising Neph's channeling cost.
-> High priority

Possible repercussions of giving out immortality technology. Repercussions meaning "ancient eldrich gods actively smashing civilizations".
No indication of Eldrazi involvement, AIs deliberately avoid perfection due to Golden Limit + Frida (unrelated to immortality thought ban), handing out immortality isn't a no-brainer (wars and revolutions have started for less)
-> ask later

Question about Earth being special (it and only it seems to exist in several planes in a close-to-similar state) - we are going to be operating on Earth for at least a bit, and Nanoha's parents live there. So, if, say, during great parade of the planets, MGLN's celestial bodies (which seem to be full of, if not consist of, archeotech) emit some sort of mana magic pulse that purges all active mana mages, or do something else, we need to know.
3 in 9 (PMMM, MGLN, Girl Genius) is insignificant versus humanity being present on all of them. 1 year precog has no realistic possibility to find out whether the reason behind that is humanity being special or our plane selection being artificial.
Threats to life/magic are completely unrelated to the question and would have already been mentioned by Neph if something risking an entire plane would pop up.
-> not added

How long it'd take to make a summon bond with Sigurd? How much it'd clash with our other plans?
Knowing wouldn't change the duration. We have a full schedule on the king-seeker plane, so spending time with him before the JS incident is in direct conflict with setting up our kingdom. He doesn't mind waiting a month, so we have even less of a reason to hurry.
-> not added

Also, interesting in general: Book of Darkness can win against everyone involved. Meaning Jail + Precia, Olivie, and us. What the hell happened to it? Agneyastra should be, roughly, its equal alone.
Agneyastra doesn't absorb linker cores (she can't use extracted LC) or spell knowledge, nor does she have a Guardian Knights equivalent. Imagine Nachtwal got Jade or Olivie. The Book of Darkness is an SSS rank planet-killer for a reason. The entire TSAB failed to stop it last time.

Who is the optimum candidate for transplanting the Mage gift into Nanoha?
As I understand it, Agneyastra can take any colored mage gift and add her optimizations. So basically, the optimal donor is someone who sees his magic potential as a curse. Let's not incur a permanent cost increase if we can ask Agneyastra first.
-> ask Agneyastra instead

Maybe some sort of scaling factor? It can absorb linker core energy so the more people with powerful linker cores around the stronger it is.

That is covered under asking the year-ahead precog, and the main reason I stated we should ask in my previous post before the one I crafted my vote.

Speaking of which, maybe one of our questions should be to pinpoint the optimum candidate for transplantation. Including such concerns as best chance the donor doesn't regret the decision.

Maybe some sort of scaling factor? It can absorb linker core energy so the more people with powerful linker cores around the stronger it is.
It could also have picked up mana magic at some point. Hell, it's possible that the Wolkenritter are mana mages as well, similar to Olivie.

@Madou Sutegobana: I really don't understand the logic of wasting a limited resource (Neph question) on something that we can find trivially. For all we know, one of the slaves we'll free was abused by his former mage master (e.g. as a mana battery) and wants to get rid of his own gift. Even if not, Agneyastra can scan any soul within 20m for the mage gift. Finding someone who doesn't want theirs is trivial to her.
As to regretting their decision - do you plan on personally finding the donor later and asking? No? Then Neph probably doesn't have that knowledge, or only the "all is well" version from Agneyastra.

@Yog: There's two subvotes on Agneyastra's djinn abilities, one only asking about djinn powers (arguing that Agneyastra is "looking for any excuse to avoid Unison" anyhow) and one targeting Unison. Alivaril will probably merge those, but technically speaking you're not asking about Unison.

@Nixeu: Didn't you want to ask about the Black/Green effect?

Sorry if I'm brash/blunt, I'm rather tired.

You're correct about us having no motes to channel Green, but our relative lack of White and Black skills is precisely why I want to try channeling or overchanneling those colors. Look at what happened when we channeled Blue for the first time; we started pulling skills out of nowhere. And when Aria overchanneled Green in the Ignition side story; she immediately pushed her Green mana control to Rank 5 and Guide Growth to Rank 20.

Now, I'm not sure how applicable those examples are to Black and White; every color is different. But there's a constant with every example: a mage channeling a color has an instinct for it they don't normally possess. Therefore, channeling is the perfect tool for initial experimentation with a color, when you're still learning the basics of what it can do. (And maybe for experimenting with it in general.)

We didn't use the clones for social shortcuts (dialogue trial runs), we shouldn't exploit Neph either. Besides, 1 year is far too short to see all consequences of e.g. reinstating her as an Agni.

1 year is plenty of time to see whether Indira uses Royal permission to grab lost Agni tech, and the consequences thereof. Not looking for anything complicated, just want to see if Neph says something along the lines of "DON'T DO THAT YOU IDIOT."

No information one way or another about Kladenets, but you seem to have forgotten the precog dream where Indira shows up at Jade's house shortly before the JS incident.

No "Golden Limit" shenanigans; I primarily want to ask Neph how general approaches have worked. The thread (and Jade by extension) is currently on the fence about whether to associate with Indira or avoid her, so Neph's likely experienced a large range of possible futures. Which futures worked out better? Should Indira become Jade's favorite evil aunt, or should the relationship be kept distant?

You convinced me that channeling has more perks than I thought, I moved it up in my vote (not that it matters as we'll probably vote on later Q&A sessions separately)

The foresight dream includes
- Holly as a fresh party member in a relaxed atmosphere
- references to the Olivie/Indira duel

As we'll only be on Earth a single day before the JS incident starts, that means the timeframe doesn't fit "shortly before the JS incident." We wouldn't be relaxed, Olivie wouldn't have risked a duel before her chance to get revenge on Jail.

Knowing which pitfalls to avoid with Indira will help us pick the right approach, and if we're still unsure nothing stops us from asking a second question. Is that compromise okay for you?

Indira picked that fight, though:
...You have been wondering about one thing. The fact that a passing cargo shuttle just so happened to suffer a nearly-catastrophic malfunction in the middle of Indira and Olivie's duel seemed even fishier the more time you spent thinking about it. It didn't take Olivie very long to rescue them, but by then, Indira had apparently already left, claiming she'd learned what she came for.

Excellent. Channeling is love, channeling is life.

Hrm. I interpreted those as two separate scenes, at different times? An initial meeting before the incident (or perhaps during, depending on how long the incident lasts), and a second meeting after the incident.

It's possible my interpretation is wrong, now that I think about it. Precog can be annoyingly ambiguous about precise dates, sometimes.

Knowing which pitfalls to avoid with Indira will help us pick the right approach, and if we're still unsure nothing stops us from asking a second question. Is that compromise okay for you?

Eh, I'll stick with my original recommendation. Advice about what general approach to take is essential, and the type of thing Neph's best at. Indira's arguably the most important concern we have in the short/medium term, so I'm perfectly okay with spending multiple channeling sessions on her, if need be. (Though if all these questions can be crammed into one session, great.)

As I understand it, the two "first meetings" are alternative futures, but both are indicated to happen later.

Indira isn't currently known as an Agni/Nagi. In the first timeline, her reveal, the duel challenge, the duel, and the interview all have to happen before our first meeting in Uminari.
The dreams about the interview and the meeting at home (which, again, mentions the interview) came during the current timefreeze so they can't have happened yet. There's only 37h on-plane until the JS incident starts. Ergo, as there's no way we'd be chilling at home during those 37h, the meeting has to be after the JS incident is resolved.

The other variant has us meeting her at a chasm after she searched for us and didn't find us in Uminari (maybe because we avoided her via foresight), which implies the meeting in that alternative timeline is even later.

As we have solid evidence that we won't meet Indira before the JS incident ends, asking Neph about her isn't as pressing.

@curiosity: Olivie would still have set the date for the duel after the incident. Tickets were sold, so it obviously was arranged beforehand.

I hope that Jade learns how to make an afterlife and hear prayers soon. Because when people ask if you are a God those are really the important abilities.

I am not interested in Green currently, but I am very interested in black. If we want fix Rement we are going to need to learn alot more about black mana.

If channeling Neph is prohibitive, we should ask questions for which we have not a slightest clue first. Which, I think, is Nanoha's magic. While one of the votes does that, it asks a very specific question, and not about this:
Agneyastra seems to have gotten everything she needs for that part, but everything she needs isn't everything Nanoha should have.

You could help her become a demigod, you know...

...Sh*t, we really should ask what in the world Nanoha's soul anomaly is, shouldn't we?

Worst case scenario, we can probably ask later if we it gets destroyed or cured before we can study it.
Foresight is future only, so she can't look for it. It's possible she previously looked into a timeline we chose that question and Neph therefore already knows, but that's rather unlikely.

@curiosity: My phrasing for that question is
-[] Anything to add on giving Nanoha mana-based magic?

As we can't directly reference Neph's comment in the character sheet (it's right aligned) following the same topic on which she mentioned making her a demi-god is our best path to get her to elaborate.

@Nixeu: Eyesparkles (which relate to the mana pockets in Nanoha's soul) are way down in the list.

Are you talking about this?
"You know, that rather defeats the purpose of having a live studio audience. They did buy tickets."
That's the tickets to the talk show, not to the duel.

Also, a "passing cargo shuttle" hints on a strong possibility that the duel wasn't on Earth, so it shouldn't have influenced Olivie's chances to get Jail.
