Typos:

Empathic vision just shows me where he is, it doesn't let my see him.
"me"

I let the Praexis horde move to surround him as he regain his feet and points his sword at me in a classical fencing pose.
"regains"

You have a beard now because Darkseid instructed you to grow one when he confirmed your position, because he was concerned that you looked to young for it."
"too"

Kanto runs his tongue around the inside of his mouth and spits out blood. Be analysing that later. He looks at me curiously. "Are you a god?"
Well, that's a first. High (implicit) praise, especially from such a competent, intelligent guy!

And his response. "That's complicated." Goddamn, son, that's classy.

Huh, this chapter neatly characterises how Kanto is still alive.

He knows when he's lost a fight, and when it's a good time to disengage and retreat.

Nah, better than that. He's got a half-dozen ultra-high tech, redundant escape plans that work so quickly that, by the time an intelligent and informed Lantern figures it out (a few seconds), he's already lightyears away and the portal's already closed.

He's kinda like Batman, but with Apokolyptian tech and New God physiology.

And, you know, he has no compunction about killing people without any warning.

Kanto's probably pretty intrigued by OL's mysterious knowledgability. He'll likely be more so when he gets back home, tries whatever kind of data search they have and realizes OL's wearing Larfleeze's symbol.

And Kanto has an orange light sample.
Where? OL stopped the attempt to grab a Demon Construct.

Some minor invisitext, for those who missed it/hate looking for it:

"Agg." "Why do I bother with invisibility?"
He tilts his head to the side. "Sur-prisingly well. But you don't know why I'm here now." "Interesting."

So let's see, possible gains from this encounter. Sample of New God's blood, discarded daggers of Assassin God that may not be that special, knowledge of new potential weaknesses (phase disruptor, construct theft, hush tube), and possible Apokoliptian tech that Canis Minor has on him. Some vague knowledge of how New God's souls make them special.

There's Dreamer as well, of course, but it's really hard to tell how that will pan out at this point.

Possible complications...Paul rather brazenly displayed some meta-knowledge to Kanto, the availability of which—even with Barda and Free hypothetically being chummy with Paul—is dubious. So, yeah. Why'd he do that? Showing off like that's just not a great move, because personal attention from Apokolips is bad.

Due to reading this chapter after about ~3 solid hours of The Binding of Isaac, I now imagine this as Paul's combat theme:

Wait did Paul just ask a bad guy what he is doing here on Earth and then proceed to show his hand and tell him everything about why he is here..............o_O. Dude probably thought he has precog or something. Which prompt the Are you a God question.

Because it means Darkseid will now waste his time on a spy hunt looking for a spy or spies that don't exist. :drevil:

Well as situations go, I call this one a win.

For Kanto yes he lost but he's found some one intresting.

For Paul the team walks away with dreamer who is going to need a crap ton of therapy but is well connected. Gained some new tech and also a new captive. Also they left the place with all the priceless art.

I have to wonder does Paul even have to worry about Darkseid trying something?

I kind of doubt he missed the whole Ophidian thing given if i recall right Desad was around when it occurred. So he would probably just figure Earth wasn't worth bothering with.
