Is anyone else tired about Lois bringing up the whole Superman not immediately adopting Superboy until months later, which in the mean time has already been adopted and has a life of his own, all on the bases that he's a clone and the only member of species that Superman knows that exists. Especially how she seems to be now bringing this up despite being in a relationship with Kal-El.
Lois only only brought it up because she (and Superman) thought Paul didn't agree with the idea of Kal himself taking on a larger and more direct role in Kon's life. Which as he explained was an accurate assessment at the time Superman went to him for advice on how to best do that and Paul basically said it be best he not even bother to do so. So she (and probably Superman) thought he'd be a little more negative about it, but since its making Kon happy without disrupting his life Paul's basically alright with it.

"And he could get that from Clark?"
I think you mean 'couldn't' if we go by what she's responding to with that question.

If I'm wrong about any of the IRL stuff, someone please correct me.
The Science channel show I watched said Mars had a molten core. Past tense. The impression I got is that since the core was smaller, it cooled faster. It could have had a magnetic field for millions or hundreds of millions of years, eventually it cooled. Ours had enough mass in the core to stay molten billions instead of millions.

Bright side, if you have access to enough energy to make the fully molten again, and induce a spin, you will have a magnetic field that will last a loooong time according to anyone (except maybe billion year old Malthusians).

then you aren't going to want to do it solely by giving mars a new moon
If we had a comic Superman, I would just have him fly directly into the core of Mars from the polar caps, and fly in circles in the direction the plant turns until the friction melts everything. Because that just sounds awesome.
Is...something like that still on the table in Earth 16?

A short example of what isn't allowed
Wow, you captured the essence of one of Maxx Crowley's rant posts perfectly!

No, it's a fairly annoying debate tactic.
Well, It's funny when Datcord does it in one of his point by point innuendo laden posts, but that is about the only time I have seen someone do it well. It also is useful when doing a full point-by-point reaction and analysis to a story installment. But in an opposed debate or argument it usually end up being an attempt to berate the other person with inane point after inane point.

WH40k crossover surprise?

I wonder how Earth's astronomers feel about a mobile planet visiting their system?
That would depend on said Mobile Planet's thoughts on the relatively recent demotion of Pluto.
Because for all they know Pluto went crying to Mother, and now she is here to deliver some spankings.

Mother of Mercy could likely pull something like that off with her planetary-scale gravity manipulation. The problem being that it might well kill all the Martians in the process; applying enough energy to render the core molten is likely to have effects that extend all the way to the surface.

Indeed. A molten core also implies volcanos, earthquakes (really marsquakes), and other things that a now cavern-dwelling species might object too.

I don't think that's going to happen.

If you really want a magnetic field, I'd rather be running some superconducting rings around the equator, and install an electrical power source.

Frank JR Paul: And that's why now Mars has so many electric storms.

Oh El: Where is the water coming from?

Frank JR Paul: From comets. Power ring users suck at poker ya know?

Oh El: I don't suck at card games.

Frank JR Paul: Yeah whatever, you are lucky I already got all the water we needed. A few card games more and I would start daydreaming about Wonderland.

Pardon me? I wasn't aware we had a problem?

Beyond that. I'm kind of curious as to how Kon actually "pushes". His flight is based upon his armor yes? I'm not real familiar with Nth Metal. Just how does he control it? How does he speed up or speed down? How does he "push" harder let's say? What are we talking about in terms of maximum speed/strength levels?

In fact I note that the subject came up earlier, during OL's trip to Mars:

**Alright. Then I'd like to present myself as this Space Sector's Orange Lantern. I'm based on Earth, but if there's anything the Corps can do for the people of Mars, you can tell me and I'll try to get it done.**

**Can you undo the damage done to the surface of our world? Can you restore the species lost? Can you cause the iron in our world's core to spin, granting us a magnetic field capable of turning aside the radiation which now deluges our planet?**

**Can I theoretically do that? Yes. But it wouldn't be safe for me to try spinning your world's core without knowing a lot more than I do about planetary physics. But the Controllers are thousands of years old. When I consult with them, I will speak to them about Mars and ask their advice.
Given that the Controllers are stated later to be capable of terraforming worlds with effort, asking them if it can be done without wrecking everything would be a much smarter option than trying it and seeing what happens.

Paulphidian attuned it to his Kryptonian strong force manipulation field, so it's mentally controlled like normal Kryptonian flight.

All these questions Lois is giving Paul, "What are your interests?", "Why did you decide to become a superhero?", "Do you have a girlfriend?"....

...She's writing a story on him, isn't she?

Well, I hope she'll cover all the parts about his uplift goals and philosophies!

"Why are so many supervillains so obsessed with building an orbital laser?! It's just not worth it!"

"There is always a way to have superpowers, and make LOADS of money off them at them at the same time. Same with super-tech! Ask Doctor Leonard Snart! These days, he's making off like a bandit without actually being a bandit!"

"Oh, that's nice. You're some sort of millenia old sorcerer who wants to summon an eldritch patron to eat and/or enslave the Earth, and possibly the surrounding cosmos. If you actually succeed, what position will you be taking in The New World Order? Meal, or Slave?"

"If a godlike entity offers to, say, 'lift humanity up to the position of gods themselves' in exchange for the world's mightiest hero becoming it's mate, ask for terms defined, then get whatever chump that's caught it's interest to suck it up and take one for the team. If the relationship sought by the entity is merely a one-night-stand-type endeavor to create a child, rather than a long term romance, make sure to ask what we can get for two."

"Is almost EVERY supervillain in LOVE with the sound of their own voice? I swear, the continuous monologuing is just sad sometimes."

Well, yes... she is an award-winning reporter in her own right and pretty much the go-to reporter for anything regarding superpowers. And OL has not only been making a name for himself by handing out cake and helping the Rhelasian peace conference, he's also doing stuff which could have serious effects for both current American and UN policy, and the future defense of Earth. Plus he turned the moon around that one time. He's a week's worth of front pages rolled into one - if she can't get a story out of a chance to interview the Orange Lantern while flying through hyperspace on a lost moon of Superman's home planet, she'd turn in her press card in shame.

Thank you, corrected.
Mother of Mercy's homeworld.
Nope.
'I'd' rather than 'I'm'.

How much like that does it need to be to count?
Oh good, the Orkz have arrived.
The ork version is spelled 'Waaaagh'. Ms Lane clearly said 'Whaaaagh'.
The effort...is preventing me
Ms Dearden
Thank you, corrected.

Anyone know what's going on with the threadmarks? The last three posts appear to be before some previously uploaded events, and we even have a duplicate Gank 13 title? (they are in fact different chapters)

I'd have to double-check the in-chapter dates to be sure, but I also think it's not in chronological order either?

Basically, Zoat didn't like how the episode went and is rewriting it. Presumably it'll make more sense if you go to the episode a week or so from now.

any chance of just having the stuff that's in the process of being redacted just moved to an apocrypha thread-title or something to avoid the confusion? I know for me the quickest way to check if the new chap is up yet is to load the previous chap and see if there's a forward-arrow in the threadmark. (though I suppose my personal convenience is probably a poor excuse to put in the effort to remedy it XD)

What makes you think anyone would read them when you didn't read the ones that are already there?

Also, editing threadmarks is a pain.

That's actually the slowest way of checking for new updates. Disregarding the current edits to the story only in lieu of new posts, Zoat posts the update in the story only thread first, then this thread, and then updates the threadmarks. So you're best off refreshing the story only thread and seeing if there is a new post from the last time you refreshed. It's usually a couple minutes faster, to the point where you can usually finish reading the update before this thread is updated.

I probably should do that, but actually I usually stick it here first. That's why people spot and comment on the wonky tags before I can fix them.

Also, threadmarks and contents page fixed.

OL doesn't have hobbies any more - what happened to his cooking hobby? I always thought that was doing him some good, both personally and in team bonding.
