There is no greater healing tool in the universe than an orange power ring wielded by someone who genuinely want to heal people.
I question that claim. I was under the impression that blue lantern rings were the end-all-be-all healing tools.

Though I suppose those don't technically exist yet, do they?

Anyway, my 'mystical' technique has produced better matches that Dox's statistical technique, as confirmed by Hinon.

And that's when she punches me.

First - Than?

Second - truth hurts :p

Edit: "Understandable, and his home is sufficiently far from the boarder of Reach space that I doubt we could persuade them to join."

"I imagine that they're keeping the information from you because they promised your natural mother. But it's too late; your natural father found out about you years ago. So-" I pat the ring. "-this isn't just about doing the Four Nine Five a good turn. It's also about protecting you. And everyone around you." I smile. "The pay and conditions are generous and you'll get to do far more good than you would in a Korugar City show hospital." I smile at her. "So how about it?"

And that's when she punches me.

I dont... I.... Why? Why did you think that would work?

Honestly, I'd expect an Indigo Ring without the malware, like the one that Ray Palmer got during Blackest Night, would be more effective as a healing tool than an Orange Ring. They'd both be quite effective of course, but Indigo is, by its nature when unbound, outwardly focused rather than inwardly. It'd require a rather certain mindset though.

So does he tank it such that she hurts her fist his face or are his goals better served by pretending to be hurt?
I'm not sure that pretending to get hurt would sell her on his abilities as a Lantern.

If she literally just enjoys the process of healing, then I'd say it's even better than a blue or indigo ring. Those require some personal investment, that you actually care about the person being healed.

"Let me heal you, idiot. You look gross with your bones on the outside." is both comical and independent of whether she cares about the people themselves.

I really want her to still reject the ring, honestly...It'd be nice if Paul had a setback because someone didn't act according to their desires for once...espically since she's fine where she is.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the law was made about Green Lanterns.
Because there were no other known Lantern types at the time.
Orange Lanterns would be in the clear. As would everyone else.
Given they don't actually have the power to enforce something like that, if someone with a Power Ring decides to make an issue of it, it's clearly an emotional thing, more than a rational one.

Meaning they're unlikely to make a distinction based on color. They're be scared and get pissy at the sight of a Power Ring.

Why not?
Full, upfront disclosure prevents any accusations of deception afterwards.
And makes it clear what the stakes are.

Don't assume it hasn't worked yet.
When you're down to a situation where the person is simply making up excuses (my student loans, to a person wealthy enough to own a personal teleporter and headhunted you from offworld) it's safe to say that the person is interested, but fear of the unknown is holding them back.

Do recall that Paul has Ophidian Vision. He can SEE her desires.
If she was completely uninterested, he wouldn't have come back here after the first time.
If she didn't want to see him again, she wouldn't have kept coming back to the same cafe.

Well, yah kinda deserved it. Odds are she's gonna say yes anyways though.
Eh, I dunno about that. Zoat does a hell of a lot of build up so that we like a person, animal, or alien, and then just kills them. Paul doesn't always succeed, so it's entirely possible that this was just one very long attempt at a recruitment that failed.

Or they're going to now kiss and Mr Magic Fist will get another alien onside.

I mean...I know Paragon is Paragon but why did he tell her about her lineage right now? Is he trying to guilt her into accepting the ring because of time restraints? He could have just told her later. Now she feels panicked, overwhelmed, and backed into a corner.

If anything this'll make her say no and try to never have anything to do with Paul again. Is this supposed to me an example of Paul not recognizing that some people choose to not go with there desires or something?

Power Gauntlet as well
And power pill, like the Corpse(Green Lantern Black Ops) use.
Hell, I'd wager there's a Corpse member on or in the general vicinity of Korugar, given Sinestro's known interest in the place.

Katma Tui was recruited from Korugar IIRC, so they manifestly can't do jack about it anyway.
Given the abiding popularity of Sinestro among certain segments of Korugaran society, well......

Informed consent.
You want your recruits to have all the facts BEFORE they leave their planet, and to accept whole heartedly.
Having a Lantern feel you withheld information and tricked them into accepting is a good way to create enemies.

Last thing you want is to give a WMD to someone who has reason to hold a grudge because you tricked them.
Let alone someone who you expect to be your Corp's doctor.
As it is, Paul is skirting the truth by suggesting that words of her exploits won't make it back home; Lanterns aren't exactly common, let alone members of an entirely new Corps.

Honestly, I think Paul needs a reminder of that...He seems to not quite understand that concept after so long being Solo Orange...Which is why I prefer Grayven as while he's not the master of Orange that Paul is, he still seems to have more of a grasp and a balance of the seven, where it seems to take something really extreme to get Paul to show something OTHER than Orange.

"Hmm... I did not expect that to trigger a flight or fight response.... Regretfully I don't really want to fix your hand because I want you to fix it yourself... Or go to the nearest hospital and list the reason your hand got broken as 'punched a orange lantern'. "

VLC is thus far unconfirmed.
IT has shown a member and was created during Abin Surs time.
BLC is thus far unconfirmed.

GLC obviously exists.
SC doesn't yet exist.
OLC is being created.
RLC is thus far unconfirmed.

BLC is a tentative, as of just after Roanoke Island.

I wonder if Paul is still on track for the original plan to gather all the rings and get the controllers to make him a White Ring. It is after all, the most powerful, and he is a munchkin.

That was never the plan.

Edit: Also, he does need to go back and have a chat with the White entity, it seemed interested in him.

Signs point to no on the Red Lantern Corps. Zoat's Atrocitus does not want to copy the Greenies. He does not want anything to do with them. I suppose someone else could found the RLC, but "current signs points to doesn't get exist" sounds accurate enough to me.
