So, the problem with Paul's approach is that it is entirely routed through him. From the organizational standpoint it's a terrible way to go about things. It works, if you are truly talented and dedicated, but it can't scale.

Also, Paul is missing the BIG thing: GL corps is strong because they don't do manual recruiting. If a lantern dies, another is called, automatically. IF an OL dies, Paul has to go out and find another. What they need to do is to work on the programming, so the rings can find satisfactory users on their own. It should be doable, I am fairly sure that rings themselves can perceive soul structures.

The Darkstars are recognisance.
"reconnaissance", I think?

Your time is more profitably spend testing exactly what degree of psychological divergence from our baselines can use rings satisfactorily."
"spent"

I could look up which ones are only just coming into Reach 'influence' and which are actually being settle, but it isn't all that important.
"settled"

Planets on the periphery are far more able to support our ongoing campaign that worlds further in, and worlds still outside the Reach sphere of influence will be more likely to support us once they observe our ability to hurt the Reach significantly. Time is an issue."
"than"

I go to them them, offer them training and a ring."
"to"

And the universe fades out. Dox is there, and the other people working on Ranx… And of course the neatly contained and nearly totally satisfied derives of Ranx himself… I pull back further and further.
"desires"

Wait, the SI could see desires long before he could do so without the ring. Ophidian's eyes. It seemed to be a universal ring function, especially considering Grayven used the yellow version on Kid Flash I think. So anyone with a ring should be able to analyze the desires of a potential recruit that they can see, even if the SI is currently much better at interpreting the data. Combined with the function of power rings to detect people strongly aligned with a particular color (because that's how green rings find recruits), it's not an impossible problem. The SI will likely be much better at finding recruits, and faster as well, but he isn't the only one who is able to do it at all.

Alternatively, they could sweep concentrations of people with skill sets they want for the right desires to use those skills with a ring. If they need soldiers, look at the desires of people in army bases. Engineers or scientists, universities.

Lastly, merge people with the Ophidian and have them break away until more people get enlightenment. The mortality rate may be a little unacceptable there, but it would work eventually. Then there are two people who can recruit efficiently.

Way to appropriate Sodam Yat. Also, it says something when one if the only ways to challenge your main character physically is to throw a bunch of not brand echh Krypton I and at him.

The difference is that Paul sees the entirety of their soul, while that trick only gives their main desires... but as part of a vetting process it could work. Send a few Orange Lanterns out to pick out potential recruits based on needs and have Paul sort through them.
As a setup it is stop gap, but would certainly accelerate the process until a number of elites develop or are trained in the empathic trick. Of course Paul just jumping to high quality potentials is equally as good, but used together it would give a viable force for the short term until the problem is solved... or Paul gets killed and they crumble into madness.

Hmm, Paul seems to keep poaching both GL and Sinestro Corps prospect recruits. And they don't even know cause it's not happened in this verse yet. Also, this avarice teleport thingy probably makes recollecting the lost ring much easier, well if Paul remembers that while he goes on poaching spree.

However, I imagine that the rings need data on what kinds of people make good candidates before they can automatically find good candidates on their own. Which is why OL's work here is so important. He's establishing what works and what doesn't. Then they can go about automating that process.

In other words, get the prototype right before you start mass production.

EDIT: I also have no idea what's going on in the scene where OL shows up on that world.

well keep in mind, this is the start of his organization. right now they need a hard core of competent people, which means this approach is perfect for now. Once it's off the ground he can offload this to others.

Goddamn I never realize how many knock off Kryptonians were in the comics and other media. Tamarians and now these guys. So many random species getting power ups from random stellar radiations.

Quick throw in a cameo with alien monkeys getting powered up by Blutz Waves and then soloing some planets.

That went great in canon.
But this time they have a friendly Lantern to help out.

throw a bunch of not brand echh Krypton I and at him.
Well...historically these reverse kryptonians are weak to LEAD of all things. So...the rail gun guy is perfect for this.

The other problem is that he keeps trying to steal back control of the Corps
I said it before Paul even left earth. It doesn't matter what your rank is, or what job you perform, at the end of the day Paul is in charge.

Wait does Paul know who he is there for? It feels like a setup for those civialians that ran away but the soldiers are just as likely to be the one he's there for.
