Hmm, at this rate, Paul will end up recruit Luthor after he gets rid of the rest of the Light. Btw, those -something- is Paul doing elemental plane shift thingy like the indigo lantern?

Guy throws up his arms. "Is this gunna happen everywhere we go?!"
At the end of every dungeon, adventurers get to loot treasure, jewels, currency, magic spells, tech, nubile young bedmates of various sexes.
Y'know, good stuff.
Paul loots useful people.

It's tradition at this point.I won't be surprised to find it formally written into the Codex of the Orange Lantern Corps.
I am surprised that he didn't wait until he could investigate Ranx's origins a little further first; AI after all, and if there are hidden overrides, that might be a Problem.

Guy is just such an excellent, er, guy.

He likes Paul as a person, but he is also exasperated by some of his choices - but he accepts that A) Paul is Paul and not Guy, B) Sometimes Paul makes choices Guy doesn't like, C) Sometimes Paul does listen to Guy, or at least change his behavior to suit Guy.

He also knows that Paul won't always do what Guy wants, but will always protect Guy's back in a fight; even if Paul isn't always laudable, and is sometimes surprising (not always pleasantly so,) he's trustworthy.

Hope Paul can smooth things over with Guardians about poaching Ranx and kill two of the Alphas.

The first is just making use of someone who won't focus on GLC anymore and the second can be explained away by being worried about Ch'p getting turned into a construct so couldn't risk waiting for their rings to run dry.

*Three road trips from now*

"Sinestro, you are possessed of great desire to punch the Guardians in the dick. Welcome to the Orange Lantern Corps"

Guy : "Damnit Paul!"

Didn't he only kill one though? Unless he let the hellwraith keep eating after literally disarming the first.

Guy glances at me, his face unreadable under his construct armour. "You really don't hesitate anymore, do yah?"
I feel like Guy is remembering Paul's reaction (or reports thereof) after the Clayface incident. That was only a year or so ago, and while there is the whole Orange enlightenment between then and now, he's seen Paul change fairly dramatically. And "being perfectly at peace with your desires to kill people with ruthless efficiency" is likely concerning.

Would sitting at 99% assimilation before being freed have side effects? I know it's a supposed to be an all or nothing kind of thing, but Ch'p was so very close to being a construct.

Horrible mental trauma and it would be very easy for the same person to assimilate him again for a period of time.

You know I half expect the Reach ambassador to accus the Guardians of using the OL corps as a PROXY... I mena they keep getting these high powered recruits whenever Paul just 'HAPPENS' to have a mission with Guy and other lanterns.....
