I'm still hoping that Grayven's version ends up being called the Conquerors' Corp... whether he likes or not, just to get the look from his friends on Earth.

Grayven: What? It wasn't my idea. Enough of the Corp wanted it, no matter what I said.

Alan (or anyone rational): And that wasn't the first warning sign?

This could say Kahndaqi, although Paul is still getting used to that, so he could reasonably be thinking "Egyptian" here.

In a lot of respects Graven is starting out with more power.

But Honestly if earth was ever attacked if it ever got in trouble I think that Pauls OL core would be able to handle it better and better motivated to fix it.
Also, Grayven's methods have a much larger casualty rate so far.

On the day Komand'r was born, for no better reason than spite, the Gordanian 'occupation' force launched an orbital strike on Tamarus, destroying an entire district of the city and nearly everyone in it. The act was fairly efficacious, forever blackening the name of an innocent baby in the eyes of her fellow Tamaranians. But as should have been obvious, she was very far from the only child born that day. Even with Tamaran's population being so much smaller than Earth's, there were tens of thousands of births.

So it really wasn't that hard finding two hundred people born that day who were willing to learn how to use power rings if it meant they got a shot at the people who wrecked their world.
Somewhere below us the Gordanian clans are on the receiving end of a hundred and fifty very angry Orange Lanterns, as well as hundreds of thousands of Imperial Marines and a lesser but still quite determined complement from the Karnans.
Grayven lost 50, a quarter of who he started with; OL's lost nobody at all so far.

Typo: And why you'll all be wearing spacesuits...
Thank you, corrected.
...Paul, you worried too much about becoming Larfleeze.

Who you've actually become is Kilowog.
No, Kilowog is a lot more shouty.

I watched a video a while ago of an English soldier watching American recruits being trained. He was completely bemused as to why everyone was shouting all of the time, even when they were right next to each other. Apparently that's not how the British army does things.

No he didn't. He left a force behind on both Ermana and Tamaran. He makes a note earlier of how many deaths his people suffered: it was twenty eight.

I hope we get to see a lot of the training of the new recruits, and the forces (both lantern, Darkstar and regular space fleet) go to war against the Reach. This really seems like it could be interesting.

Still 14% of his starting number. And that is just casualties to death. How many are gradually spiralling down the Larfleeze path while their teacher directs his attention elsewhere?

No mention of the White or Black lights, either. Would be understandable, excerpt Paul had encountered non-lantern instances of the black light. Warning the recruits send like a good idea, unless it's just another instance of "Earth is a brutal deathworld."

To be fair, Paul's training a completely different corps than the Green Lanterns. The GLs are explicitly police who are not allowed to kill. Which puts them at a significant disadvantage in any sort of space combat or anywhere that rings don't work. The Orange Lanterns are a force fighting a war with almost no restrictions on what they can and can not do. Most of the "blocks constructs" shields stop a green lantern cold, because they can't risk killing someone. Meanwhile, an Orange Lantern just uses something lethal.

With all that said, I just don't see many Orange Lanterns visiting Earth any time soon. They're primarily focused on the Reach, and not on actual police work right now. Plus, as great as Paul is, he's certainly not the end all be all when it comes to training. Heck, for construct use and general Psychic resistance a GL would be a much better choice. His specialty is in use every tactical advantage, and harnessing emotions.

This speech is about emotions that turn your ring off, not possible enemies.

Most people probably aren't capable of feeling the emotions of Life or Death.

I kind of want to see the orange ring trainees to get a taste of how weird Earth is and get an example of how the enemy can and will figure out how to stop you, either with advance schizotech or with magic, and how to respond if direct use of the ring is not an option. Plus while it gives Paul a chance to spend time with his friends it can also be a chance to train a bit of diplomacy into them, since half of the time dealing with the Reach is fighting them and the other is dealing with the other planets and aliens that want to help or need help and culture clash is obviously something that would occur to any non-native lantern.

It will be like what happened with Jack Chance when shown how obsurb Earth is from an outside perspective. Plus it acts as a safer training exercise then just teaching them the basics then letting fight the Reach who have experience fighting the green lanterns.
