Isn't Rem something to do with sleeping?

Fun facts sleeping well makes you live longer. Going without sleep for a long time or sleeping very little leads to insanity.

And John actually does know about creatures that can give people nightmares, but the list is a tad long.

They don't usually glow but they do change color (so do Stewart's, from brown to green).

Then again, orange irises are odd but not a total giveaway.
Only when he's specifically doing something with his vision.

EDIT: Quick question: What color is the SI's hair color anyway? Was it ever mentioned? Does it turn orange along with his eyes when he goes into superhero mode? Because I think that would be another good way to keep his identity secret without needing a mask. Original Post

Brown, I don't think so, orange eyes indicates that he's using the ring to do something with his vision. Normally his eyes are the same dark green as mine. Original Post

That contradicts the story, however.

"Didn't know your eyes were green."

Might be less ironic, but my eyes are dark green rather than the emerald green members of the Green Corps end up with.

"What colour are yours? Under.. that."

A small smile.

"Brown."
Neither he nor Guy knew each other's normal eye color until he took the ring off.

And he'd known Guy for at least a month and a half. Which means Guy is either really unobservant or Zoat changed his mind about the eye thing at some point and I missed it.

Who is William Nelson? The only Nelson I recall from the story is Kent.
A man that knows the magic of music
I was going to make this exact joke last night, but I did a quick check and apparently his birth name really is Willie.
Maybe he just didn't bother to remember?

Contacts. Off screen moment of having the ring flash forge some colored contacts.

Don't think it works that way, for much the same reason that he can't make invisible constructs, or not glow. We've seen in the story that Paul has had to work from afar during stealth missions because he couldn't fix his light incontinence.
When he's "in uniform," actively using his power, yes. He's totally capable of turning off his environment shield to go civilian. Sure, he's vulnerable, but considering power rings operate at the speed of thought he'll be able to protect himself at a moment's notice.

Also I'm pretty sure it's been established he's a lot better at it now than he used to be. He's capable of using filaments so fine that they don't emit more light than what's ambiently there anyway.

I was of the understanding that anything the SI wanted, as long as he wanted it hard enough, would happen thanks to the ring. If the SI permanently wanted a new eye colour then the ring would change it permanently (by rewriting his genetic code) regardless of whether he continued to wear the ring.

That would be easy, but the orange isn't from his genetics in the first place; it's from the ring.

That's nice? Not remotely what I'm referring to, but okay.

Having a stealth option means being able to go dark while maintaining the same abilities, like Kid Flash's, Aqualad's and Miss Martian's costume changes. It doesn't mean sacrificing those capabilities to not be seen. Paul can't maintain his power ring granted protection and not give it away. Similarly, Paul's eyes changing color is a passive effect of the ring. If the ring is on, then the eyes are orange. If the ring is off, then they return to their original color.

While the filament leading to a construct might be all but invisible, the big orange construct at the end of that filament is still big, glowy and orange. So, again, no stealth option for constructs.

Yes, probably. But the orange is a passive effect of the ring, not something to do with his genes. Colored contacts or light filtering glasses would probably fix that issue if he's trying to blend in, though.

I think it would look too much like a grey area to him, especially if we can't come up with something that won't risk killing Nabu.
Interesting that Paragon seems to be implying here that killing Nabu is not only undesirable, but could be considered a "necessary risk" - i.e. not a part of the plan.

Very interesting considering I vaguely recall he's shown orange text when thinking about killing Nabu.
"No one checks unless you have a crash. Plus, I have diplomatic immunity."
There's a fair degree of precedent that you can't get off traffic offences using diplomatic immunity. (Murder is one thing, but dangerous driving is so rarely a part of one's official duties.)

But OL might be able to swing it, considering he is literally an undercover spy at the moment.

... For about as long as he's had a soul, or there abouts? Was the lock up being caused by trying to apply a True Name to someone without a metaphysical presence?
I don't think so, considering saying it at the Source Wall knocked out Grayven.

He was pretty heavily anti-lifed, so you could argue his soul was partially "removed" at the time, but I don't think Justified suffer any negative effects from their names. Darkseid definitely doesn't.
And how many necromancers did you poll to acquire that no doubt well researched fact?
Mediums are real, for a suitable generous definition of "real". I imagine they'd object to the term "necromancy" for what they pretend to do.

It makes sense. If they can separate Nabu from Zatara without making an enemy of him, then that gives them the option to plop the helmet on someone whos willing and near instantly get an extremely powerful Order mage at any time. In addition to that, he has some of the best knowledge of magic of anyone the Team or League has access to. Aside from being a dick and body snatching Zatanna's dad, he would be a really great ally. And he's decently reasonable, so may not hold separating him from Zatara against OL so long as he gets someone else to control in a timely manner.

Or just that removing the Helmet but leaving Nabu alive means there won't be as much blowback from the members of the League. Killing a supervillain is already troublesome enough, killing someone acting as a superhero would be even more of a problem. Alternatively he might just not want to risk killing Nabu mid-fight because he's unsure what would happen, and has plans to deliver Nabu to the sun afterwards.
