EDIT: How is it that he puts up this much better of a fight than Klarion in a similar ambush in Renegade (who had less resources) and still couldn't get rid of Klarion?
Same way every so called 'mastermind' in the light managed to be so utterly incompetent in the original timeline in comparaison to how they currently are. Power creep. We told the games developpers that upping the difficulty through level scaling would create incongruities, but noooo, they just wouldn't listen and now we've got the kobolds equivalents of the tutorial zone with difficulty ratings of 20.

So, worried thought:

Did OL get any response when he pinged Jade's armor to see if she was still alive?

Holy crud he killed Edward Siskin and trying to kill everyone. Well, he's certainly violating Justice League protocols now.

because klarion was just straight up murder with pretty much the sword of destiny, this is a complicated ritual to remove a spirit from its host without harming the latter.

This is an accurate depiction of a fight against a ridiculous high-level wizard in D&D 3.Xe. Everyone's just trying to deal out or avoid taking Save or Dies or Save or Sucks, physical damage doesn't matter, and ridiculous countermeasures make 90% of the stuff ping off or irrelevant for the high-level wizard.

I have had some dubious DMs.

Yeah, I quickly posted that while still processing the update. Bit dumb of me to say in retrospect.

And I guess he's sufficiently uncreative to come up with an arcane assembly to automatically move the helmet between bodies while keeping the former host from acting against it.
Or the person putting on the hat has to be willing.

I also really hope that Micheal isn't dead, dude was really interesting and it'll be a shame for him just to die that quickly.

You know, I think we have an idea where he "took" those villainous wizards he abducted after Roanoke. To a shallow unmarked grave or disintegrating the bodies.
The one who came back was the guy who's aligned with the Black Light of Un/Death, after all.

Simple: Klarion lacked his familiar (much weakened) and was attacked with the Sword of the Fallen, which isn't safe to use on Nabu while he's hooked into Giovanni.
They've gotten hits on Nabu, just not ones that decided the battle - whereas a single hit with the Sword of the Fallen usually does decide the battle.

Golden light outshines the yellow for a moment, then stone fragments rain down from.. the… sky. Siskin… Most of his.. torso is still on Nabu, but… It's cracked and burned out, the yellow runes that once covered it entirely gone. Nabu's still yellow, but there's not-.

He just killed-.
I hope rather than dead Siskin's body was just destroyed and his fear spirit is still okay so all it needs is a new body.

Heck maybe magic users on sight can fix it up since John does have a lot of power so could likely restore body himself.

So considering at the start of the battle Nabu took out Jade, killed Siskin and almost killed Adom with one spell I think it's safe to say that OL didn't overplan when he decided to fight a Lord of Order while trying to keep the host alive.

I feel like this is giving Nabu a bit more power than he deserves considering that fight with Mongol.

If you're referring to the War World, and not some event I've missed in the past few episodes of the fic, then I think stopping a super-massive planet-killing laser is a significant feat.

If you extrapolate from there, I think this is par for the course.

"You've sworn yourself to Chaos!" Shields begin to blink out. It looks like they take two hits a piece, and they're moving… Switch targets to individual shields. Create an opening. "Betrayed every bond of friendship that you-!"

"What do you know about friendship, Lich!?"
This right here shows just how out of touch Nabu is with the rest of the world. He literally cannot comprehend that the alignment of Chaotic Good exists.

Also, trying to lecture the guy who has multiple friends that are trying their damned best to capture/kill you, while having no friends and sabotaging the life of the last person you could call a friend?

Not only is he out of touch, he's completely delusional.

I'm kind of hoping that the SI does get a Red Ring at some point. Between the avarice enlightenment making him perfectly aware of his own desires, and the ability to get annoyed by things not going according to those desires, he'd have some good synergy.

Assuming that the red light of rage is actually compatible and doesn't cause interference, of course.
Well, if we consider each of the emotional entities as the "mobile", currently blocked chakra centers of the universe, mastering the Red Ring and helping The Butcher to become the embodiment of The Mulahara chakra, would be an ABSOLUTE MUST if the Universe is ever going to have its MUCH needed Kundalini Awakening.

And considering how Paul has come up with idea after idea after idea, I'm certain The Ophidian would REALLY WANT to be the source of creativity that the Universal Svadhisthana chakra would embody!

He's with Teekl now.

The red ring is the second worst ring, just after black. You can't resign from the Red Lantern corpse, as it swaps out your blood for red plasma. You die if you take the ring off.

Is he? The League doesn't seem to have a problem with killing when its the last resort, and considering what Nabu is fighting here and for its most certainly time to pull out the big guns.
I wish to establish that 'first resort' and 'last resort' are not at all the same thing.
In fairness to Nabu: He tried leaving without paying attention, then he tried tricking them, and only then did he jump to immediate murder.
Justice League practices indicate that there should be a 'beat them up enough that they're down but not dead' somewhere in there.
He's going to die if he doesn't escape isn't he?
Well, firstly he didn't care about any of the deals - didn't even scan the golem - but let's assume, for a moment, that his fanatical foolishness can be... not excused, but sort of shoved behind a veil for a moment...
He's going to get taken off of Giovanni's head if he doesn't win.
He doesn't need to kill everyone to win... unless he's a supervillain out to Show Them All for rejecting his demands.
