I'm still hearing that in my head as the word which would conventionally be spelled 'whoa'.
*scrunches face in confusion* Maybe it's accent/dialect differences causing us to hear/interpret the same sounds differently?

Or have we been thinking of different things entirely? Because somethings it seems to me your using the same expression/word for two different things. Might even be both.

Wow is pronounced like Cow, or Ow, or Now. Whaw seems to be pronounced more like Awe or Saw or Law. Zoat got me thinking that Whaw was an Australian pronunciation, but I think the spelling of Wow is fine just the way it's always been.

Sometimes I say woah (pronounced like woe and slow) instead of wow, but that might be because I grew up around horses.

I mean, I can see it being spelled "wou"...
Only if you mean it like the past tense of Wind, Wound. And not the gaping, bleeding Wound. And not the Wind that blows, the Wind that your old clocks need every once in a while.

Oh, English. You Latin Germanic mashup, you really are awful.

SO HOW 'BOUT THAT STORY SEGMENT?
Needs more B'ool bell.

More constructively/seriously, there continues to be the setup for H'ronmeer's Curse happening (or at least something similar), what with the reference in this chapter to telepathy-interfering microbes, and with Uncle Ma'al's headaches or such being shown/mentioned previously leading to the possibility of some mental/psychological/brain chemistry problems beyond his lack of telepathy. Could just be red herrings, or may not happen during the trio's stay on Mars, but it's looking like things may take a turn for the worse if the family reunion happens as is IC hoped.

At this point there's no way to tell if Ma'al's lack of telepathy is actually natural or (as found in a quite jaunt over to wikipedia) the result of it being purposely cut off and then the memory erased in punishment for attacking J'onn's wife. Kinda hoping it's the former as he does seem like a nice individual, but we'll just have to see.

I honestly don't get why they genocided all the Martians in the comics, and replicating that over here seems incredibly stupid; it reminds me of how Marvel decided to depower all the mutants because there were "too many" of them, even though that was a horrifically stupid decision that helped seal the downfall of X-Men as a valid comic property.

I would like to make it clear that Zoat does not speak for all English people. Whaw and wow are distinct sounding words with subtly distinct uses. Whaw is an onomatopoeic exclamation of surprise and impressed-ness while wow is a spoken word denoting awe. They are usually interchangeable but whaw is more of an involuntary reaction/exclamation while wow is a deliberate word more suited to use in a sentence.

Thank you, updated.

That still refers to you as @Twilight666. Should that say @Chriss666?
