Shepard Quest Mk VII, Age of Revy (ME/MCU)

So how much will the new math for the labs help us?
Quite a lot. As far as I can tell the Basic Research VI is applied three times. First it is applied directly to our labs. Labs generate 50RP per tier then benefit from our various research bonuses. Before that was a 1.85x multiplier but with the upgrade that goes to 2.00x. So Lab Is now generate 100RP, Lab IIs generate 200RP, and Lab IIIs generate 300RP.

Then there are our Research Heroes. Their RP generation is added to the Lab's RP generation before that bonus. For simplicity's sake however you can treat it separately because mathematically it works the same so long as a Lab is attached to their action. So all our Research Heroes also go from a 1.85x multiplier to 2.00x. That means our B-Rank researchers are now generating 300RP while our A-Rankers pull in 600RP.

Finally Revy also benefits from the Lab Quality (albeit she does so using her private Lab) bonus which is applied to her base RP generation of 1,000RP. She ends up with 1,900RP not 1,850RP because Revy alone also benefits from having an Advanced Neural Interface which adds +5% to the multiplier so she was previously sitting on 1.90x and thus is now being bumped up to 2.05x.

Next quarter we should have 7 Lab IIIs, 1 Lab II, and 2 Lab Is. All together that should generate a base 1,250RP which the multiplier will increase to 2,500RP. Our 3 B-Rank Research Heroes and 2 A-Rank Research Heroes combined generate a base 1,050RP which is then multiplied out to 2,100RP. Finally Revy generates a base 1,000RP which will now be multiplied out to 2,050RP. All told we gain +495RP from this tech.

That said the biggest advantage here is actually how it rounds everything off. Before we ended up with odd RP values:
  • Conrad/Mordin: +555RP
  • Gaven Dor, Shatom, Hawn, and Lab IIIs: +277.5RP
  • Lab IIs: +185RP
  • Lab Is: +92.5RP
which required Revy to step in on every project to round things out. Now however things are fair neater:
  • Conrad/Mordin: +600RP
  • Gaven Dor, Shatom, Hawn, and Lab IIIs: +300RP
  • Lab IIs: +200RP
  • Lab Is: +100RP
so fitting people to projects should be a lot easier. That will make coming up with Research plans a lot easier.

Considering how closely tied to the alliance we are at this point, at the rate we are going a good chunk of humanity could very well be basically one nation under copyright within a decade or two.

I have a doubt, if I understood correctly unless the game master specifically says that we are not selling something or there is a vote on whether we are selling it, any new invention of our company is automatically put on sale?

Am I wrong ?

Maybe hold off on combat until the war is over so we can fight pirates or small scale battles. Yes I know it is important to keep Revy alive due to her genius, but remember how narrow her win was against the Reaper Mech? She is going need combat experience down the line but maybe when it's dealing with small scale stuff.

Yes the new Centurion armor she has is amazing but it can only reach its true potential if the pilot is skilled enough and experienced enough to use it.

So help build now, experience more combat later.

made sure not to copy the invisa words. If we had the defensive research done i wouldnt mind taking to the field but since we dont ill have to pass.

No (but actually yes?)
Seems more like a joke than something to be taken seriously to me.
@tri2 did you mean this as a (jk) or secretly we don't actually get to choose.
Well, if there'd be no difference at all, there wouldn't be a vote. The question is - you think that choice is "fight vs. not fight". I think that's "go and fight vs. stay and fight will go to you".

Sadly enough alien discrimination was a thing in the city due to the First Contact war, unfamiliarity, and the sheer rarity of seeing an alien.
Well, what else do you expect if you actually give them a valid reason to discriminate somebody, lol. Having attacked your people is generally a good reason to treat somebody differently.
[X] Stasis Plate [800/1600] (Requires Mass Effect Skill Rank B): Stasis makes the effected object almost invulnerable if mostly immobile. So apply it to armor plating and bam! Awesome armor that's good against anything, including lasers. Down side is the effected plate can't move fast due to the speed of light so no FTL or, hell, probably no cruising either, and shields of any sort can't be used while its on, barrier interference principle and all that. It'll also burn power like nobodies business, which is why no one ever considered trying this before. Small price to pay for an incredible defense. Oh and not actual invulnerability, just really hard to hurt. (Counts as Mass Effect/Dark Energy)

Progress on making things temporarily invulnerable is going, only 6 workplace accidents so far last month. PROGRESS!

Result: PROGRESS!
Mhhh, will the next version of this perhabs be called Pulse Activated Nexus Invulnerability Core aka P.A.N.I.C.?

Also, will we call our PDS system Defense-Integrated Counter Kill System?

i think the choice is either go to an active combat zone vs. staying behind the frontlines, behind planetary defenses and our security team plus what ever the Alliance has defending the colony.

also i think this is quite a silly vote, the Alliance would never in a million years allow us to fight on the frontlines like this vote seems to be implying we'll do.

think about it, why would one of the largest and now the most well equiped military in the galaxy allow their golden goose of a scientist to fight, they would immediately shut the offer down, it just feels like this shouldn't even be a vote in my mind.

I agree. But "to the field" doesn't necessarily mean frontline fight. It might be field headquarters (I hope I get the right synonym), for example, as technical consultant and advisor.

But since we have a vote, that mean there is a reason behind it.

Eh, they allowed us to sell the Arc Reactor to the Council Species so short after a war, so all bets are off.

Way too risky, specially without Stasis Plate. Not to mention, what the heck would we do there. We are not military leader. Let the people on payroll do what they are payed. No need to add bodyguarding boss on the list.

Also we are wide open for Reapers before we are ready for them.
