What was the problem with PoC's refugees. Afaik, the refugee thing worked perfectly fine.
Taking refugees repeatedly in vast numbers without taking the actions to culturally convert them AND lacking the infrastructure to process them better than Dice Gods Mercy.

Instead we took the econ they gave and churned it into military and megaprojects. In an elitist society where they aren't qualified to even be near said projects.

Guess the narrative

There were two major issues I remember.

Questors voted to bring open large numbers of refugees right before or during a crisis which led to them just building new villages willy-nilly.

Once the pro-Diversity value upgraded to Cosmopolitan, a series of religious crises began.

In all honestly, the village issue would be less of a problem in this game, but our civ's religious bent means not taking the time to properly assimilate would cause serious issues.

*edit*
There was also that side story where the immigrant never learned the language and was basically a communal slave.

Yes, a society that is highly stratified with a collectivist "you should already know our customs and ideals, don't bother people by constantly questioning things" society that also constantly encouraged immigration without any real mode for teaching them their culture would lead to essentially immigrant slavery (which it did with most of the immigrants becoming hereditary half exiles).

Who would of thought? :V

Now I would hope the Arthwyd would be better in this regard since I'm assuming the teachings of the Goddesses (aka the foundation of our culture) are preached fairly regularly for all to hear.

Would this be a correct assumption @Oshha , or is it more of a "you should have been told this by your community already; asking about such basic things will give you looks" situation?

The Arthwyd are more open than the Ymaryn, especially their priests. The priesthood is quite happy to explain the teachings of the goddesses to anyone who wants to learn them and will happily teach the local customs whoever wants to learn them. Additionally, the communal nature means that if you are screwing up or don't know what to do, you are expected to ask for help so you don't fail the community by trying to do something you don't understand.

Whether or not you have the Blessing of Arthryn also affects matters as well. Those with the blessing are generally assumed to know the local customs due to the assumption that you have been born and raised amongst the People. Those without the blessing are assumed to not know how things work until you get to know them better since as they lack the blessing, they are assumed to be outsiders. While this is often helpful for new immigrants, those who have grown up amongst the People without the blessing will generally get fed up with well-intentioned strangers trying to explain how things are done to them.

Feudalistic Tales - Sponsored by the Flock
To the east of the great city a hill rose.

A meagre thing covered in weeds and grass. Upon its top an altar was raised, a construct of hewn rock and carved wood, plain and unadorned.

It was here that the Kings of Baa are ordained, upon the sacred ground where the word of the Great Ram was proclaimed.

The procession would leave the Palace in great pomp and ceremony, the King and his court adorned in fine linens and rare pelts, richly dyed in reds and yellows.
Beads of lapis lazuli, rubies, malachites and amethysts draped over their person.
Great was the wealth of the Baa, and greater still was the King's might.

As they pass the woolly river, the flock begins to shed its finery and discard it upon the muddied path. Until at last they arrive at the altar.

There the high priest would stand, clad in vestments of wool woven into a mesh of gold, a crown of horns resting upon his head.
The horns where of bronze, strings of garnets looped around the right side, whilst large aquamarines circled the left.

In his hands he held a staff, made of two lengths of cedar and cypress, with an egg of clear rock crystal fixed to its head.

Here the King would be flinsed with lengths of thornbush, as he confesses to all his sins and failings.

Then the priests would wash him with the blessed waters, as they sang the tale of first king of Baa.

Kha'ro'uf the mighty he was proclaimed, king of the earth and seas, master of all that his eyes surveyed.

Favoured of the Gods and the spirits of wind, never has lived a more blessed king.

But beset he was by evils untold, a darkness too wicked to behold.

Until holy Ma'qisim'Ili'aan saw fit to grant him a vision, and so his mind took to the skies in the form of a pigeon.

There he saw a red tide without end, an evil in disguise seeking those that cannot it's nature comprehend.

It is a beast with many a head, and for each one cut a thousand sprout to replace the dead.

Terror and dispair filled the heart of the great king, for what hope could Baa or nature stand such a thing?

But merciful was Ma'qisim'Ili'aan greatest of the gods, and unto the King he bestowed a means to change his odds.

Of laws, structures and compacts did he speak, of the rights of Baa and the nature of things he spoke for a week.

Armed with wisdom divine, his kingdom he sought to redefine.

And thus it was that the red menace was driven back to the great abyss, and the hands of Ma'qisim'Ili'aan did all the gods kiss.

So it was that the words of the first divine where engraved upon a six and seven columns of basalt, each of such weight that it takes a score of Baa to left them.

Fu'dael'iseem they were named, and no holier words where ever carved on rock before or since.

Copies of the holy laws, inscribed upon brick would be brought forth to the kneeling king, who would kiss each of them and swear upon the divines to hold them dearer than his own life.

Then the priests would annoit him in the sacred oil, and garb him in the awesome regalia of a king of Baa, a scion of him that gave all the wisdom of Fu'dael'iseem.

At last a crown of silver and lapis lazuli would grace the monarchs head, and thus clad, the procession would march back to the Palace, where the flower of Baakind would swear their oaths to a king in truth.

It's just annoying catching up on the quest and realizing people are immediately gravitating towards the PoC style civilization again, was hoping for something other then the Food->Technology->Culture cycle from before. Everyone seems to follow the same ideas in these quests.
Did you ever play PoC? Lacking in culture was the reason we had so many problems back before the timeskip.

On another Wyrn related note, do you think she should make Bronwyn into her newest little sister?

I doubt she'd be able to. She was locked up in the statue for the first decade. By the time she got out Bronwyn's story would already have been superseded/consumed by the story about the Temple, making her a minor presence at best.

Also, divine ascension for breaking Arthryn's teachings sends entirely the wrong message.

Alas, it is not.

On another Wyrn related note, do you think she should make Bronwyn into her newest little sister?

Considering what Bronwyn was punished for and how, her turning into a godness would need alot of work from Wyrn and in a way that will likely get her punished again and this time much harsher.
I just don´t see the first and up until now only person that got a divine punishment to be turn into a godness with out the message being lost and if Wyrn help with that i don´t see her not being punished.
