Gwynlyn watches the woman climb into the longboat. This is the last stop of the trip before they reach Greenbay proper and the last time that some passengers get off and some get onboard. So far, all of the crew and her fellow passengers have been regular Arthwydish like herself, but this one isn't.
Well, Gwynlyn doesn't know that this woman isn't Arthwydish and she could very well be Arthwydish, but the distinctive red eyes and black hair make it clear the woman is a Daughter of Urthryn. Divine Daughters, she even has the figure of myth with curves bigger than her own as Gwynlyn jealously notes that she no longer the one with the largest bosom on this boat.
Glancing over at Gwynlyn, the Daughter of Urthryn locks eyes with the Arthrynite priestess before making her way over, taking up a position on semi-crowded longboat next to Gwynlyn. As the woman approaches, Gwynlyn hastely looks away, aware that she got caught staring.
"Hi," says the Daughter of Urthryn as she sits down next to Gwynlyn, pushing up against Gwynlyn.
The longboats get crowded enough that Gwynlyn doesn't feel justified in making a fuss about the Daughter of Urthryn being too close, but it isn't crowded enough right now for the woman to need to be as close as she is right now. She could probably get away with making a fuss and getting the Daughter of Urthryn to back off a bit, but Gwynlyn doesn't feel uncomfortable enough to cause that kind of the disruption for everyone else on the longboat.
"Hello," replies Gwynlyn as she feels the confident happiness of the Daughter of Urthryn.
"Correct me if I am presumptuous, but you are the other priestess here?" inquires the Daughter of Urthryn, "The crew mentioned that I wouldn't be the only one onboard and said I could find you by looking for the woman with the tallest mountains."
"Yes, I am a priestess of Arthryn and her Daughters and, ah, yes, I do have the biggest bosom here," confirms Gwynlyn, giving the other woman a smile, "Well, I did anyway."
"It comes with the territory," replies the Daughter of Urthryn, "I got these mountains from my mother, both of them so to say. You won't find anyone else with similarly sized ones outside of a royal or someone with divine kinship."
"Speaking of your mother," says Gwynlyn, deciding to bring up the subject that she has been wondering about ever since she first spotted the Daughter of Urthryn, "Who-"
"I am an Arthrynite priestess like you," answers the Daughter of Urthryn with a mixture of resignation and amusement, "My mother was a convert from the Foresters and I was born to her in the Arthwyd Empire and have lived in the empire my whole life. I ended up a priestess thanks to my heritage making me ideally suited for it, but other than that, I have just lived my life normally. As normally as I can anyway as like yourself, many who met me for the first time assume that I am an Urthrynite Forester rather than Arthrynite Arthwyd. It can be get annoying, but it is something I have learnt to live with."
"Sorry about that then," apologises Gwynlyn sheepishly.
"Don't worry about it," the Daughter of Urthryn reassures her, "I am Ronlyn."
"Gwynlyn," replies Gwynlyn.
"Well Gwynlyn, would you like to climb my mountains once we arrive in Greenbay?" asks Ronlyn and Gwynlyn snaps her head around to gape at her.
"I beg your pardon?" says Gwynlyn, shocked by Ronlyn's casual offer of sex.
"When we get off the ship, do you want to reach my summit?" says Ronlyn, giving off a mixture of lust and amusement at the reaction of her fellow priestess, "Because by Bronwyn's Beauty, I am up for reaching yours."
"I'm not attracted to girls," blurts out Gwynlyn as she says the first thing that comes to mind.
"Wait, really?" exclaims Ronlyn and Gwynlyn feels her shock and disbelief alongside a heavy helping of confusion, "But you were staring at me..."
"You are the first Daughter of Urthryn that I have met," admits Gwynlyn, "I was staring because of that not because I think you are hot."
"But you are a priestess!" protests Ronlyn, "I could get someone else, but you could just give yourself an attraction to women. That is what I did. Why would you not be attracted to women when you can be like that? That is like choosing not to be attracted to men. What sort of person limits themselves like that?"
"I never had the need to do," says Gwynlyn, "I've only had my summit reached a few times in my lifetime and each time, it was because a man did a good enough job of climbing them."
"Ymarn's Wisdom girl, you have no idea how you are missing out," says Ronlyn as she radiates pity and surprise, "Trust me, having a woman climb your mountains is just as good as having a man do it and you are missing out if limit yourself to just the latter."
"How about we talk about it later?" suggests Gwynlyn as she doesn't want to discuss this particular topic right now in the open and semi-crowded longboat.
"Alright," agrees Ronlyn, "We can continue it later."
"How about once we arrive at Greenbay?" proposes Gwynlyn, "We can find somewhere private and secluded where you can convince me to climb your mountains."
"That sounds like a plan," answers Ronlyn, "So why are you going to Greenbay anyway?"
"I want to help bring justice to the world," says Gwynlyn with a shrug, noting that Ronlyn is still pushed up against her, "I come from a small village and while it is okay, I feel like I could be doing more elsewhere."
"Sounds like you might want to go to Caermyr instead," muses Ronlyn, "Greenbay is the centre of politics, religion and Arthwyd trade and as a result, it is pretty stable and crime-free since it doesn't have many criminals and a lot of people to deal with them. Caermyr on the other hand is the second-largest city in the region and the centre of international trade. You have people from all sorts over and that includes plenty of foreigners who are inclined to break the law whether it be intentionally unintentionally. The end result is that you got the highest crime rate in the entire Arthwyd Empire."
"That does sound more like my sort of thing," agrees Gwynlyn with some annoyance, "Well Urthryn curse it. I went to the wrong end of the Green River."
"It isn't all bad," says Ronlyn with a chuckle at the plight of her fellow priestess, "Greenbay is worth the visit and I feel everyone ought to make at least one trip to it in their lifetimes. Here is a suggestion, you join me on my pilgrimage around Greenbay and I will join you on going to Caermyr."
"A pilgrimage eh," says Gwynlyn thoughtfully, "That sounds good. I've planned to see the Grand Temple and visit some of the other important sites while I lived in Greenbay, but just visiting them over a short trip would be good. It would certainly be a shame to come to Greenbay and not see those sights."
"I'll pray to that," agrees Ronlyn with a nod.
"Hey Ronlyn," says Gwynlyn, "If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Not to be rude, but Daughters of Urthryn are immortal and eternally young..."
"This upcoming winter will be my thirty third," answers Ronlyn, giving Gwynlyn a smile, "I am actually the age that I look. At least for now anyway. Give me a few winters and I will be looking younger than I am."
"Does it bother you that you are immortal?" inquires Gwynlyn, "I can't imagine what it would be like to live forever and never join the goddesses."
"It is what it is," says Ronlyn, "I got born immortal and I can't shape that. And it isn't like I can't join the goddesses. I just get more choice over when it happens."
"Aye, that makes sense," says Gwynlyn.
The two of them sit next to each other and Gwynlyn finds herself appreciating Ronlyn's company as the latter rests her body against her. She has struck up something of a friendship with her fellow Arthrynite priestess and Gwynlyn is interested in pursuing that friendship further as Ronlyn is the sort of person that she would like to spend time with.
"So Gwynlyn," says Ronlyn, "Got any good stories to share from home?"
"A few," answers Gwynlyn, "But feel free to call me just Gwyn."
"Sure," replies Ronlyn, "And you can call me Ron."
