What is Fate? (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Quest)

[X][Weapon] A warscythe
[X][Defense] Stick with Willow near the flag.
[X][Chloro] Maxima, the forest comes to your aid.

Eh, fine. Why not.

Also yes. Let's show them they are in OUR HOUSE NOW MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

Lily ends up being the one to take you on a tour of the camp. You go to the Mess, and then follow her to the Arena, Armory, Stables, Northern Forest, Strawberry Fields, Big House, Volleyball Court, Arts & Crafts building, Lake, and finally, the Amphitheater. Oh yes, and if anyone is watching or reading about you, perhaps in some form of fiction, yes, Lily has red hair, but it's not the auburn of Blossom or Lily Potter, it's simply a strawberry blonde that's more strawberry than blonde. No, she does not have green eyes, her eyes are the same brown that yours are. She's also a year-round camper, which means that she's not going to Hogwarts, which would be in Scotland or something. Her name is just a coincidence. She's also way too young to be Harry Potter's mother considering that if the timeline were to remain the same, she should be like 40 and dead, but Lily Evans, Head Counselor of Cabin 4 is 17 and very alive.

You seem to have gone a touch overboard with this. Could have cut it in half and got the same point across.

Cabin Eleven currently holds roughly twenty campers

God name please. Context should mean this is Hermes, but it's been a long time since I read the books

and Dionysus has a single camper.

Huh, kinda surprised he can get out of camp to get laid, but it makes sense that not all of him is stuck in camp at all times.

[X][Weapon] a saber that was shattered leaving behind a curved jagged edge. (Warscythe, a tool of harvest turned weapon of war)

@Monk Penguin i hope this is allright since, as a child of demeter, this type of weapon would likely be the most natural for us. After all, the war scythe is literally a tool for harvest repurposed for usage in battle.

EDIT: It is approved

Was gonna laugh at this idea, but then you showed thay war scythes are real, look cool, and are a bit like the spear I was thinking of using.

Basically, no need to go all out and reveal everything for a game.

Counter point, there's no reason to not reveal it in the game. We have no enemies here, and the worst that happens for revealing it this early is that we don't have an Ace to use in a later game of capture the flag.

Far more impressive to show off in our first game.

There are two types of war scythes. One kind that are almost like glaives and another which are akin to a curved shortsword with an edge for cutting and an edge for blocking.

Both are useful and it was common for them to be changed from one to the other by attatching or removing a pole.

The one i was referring to was the second though once we get a magical weapon perhaps it could shift between the two types.

Fair enough. Though i am assumind old timey wimey weilded the harvesting scythe rather than the war variant.
That's the one. It seems like it would be ineffective in battle, but I'll let you in on a little secret. He cheats.

But I'm such a fan of flowery and overly verbose language. Your point is valid, but I find it amusing to leave as is.

I'm super excited for maximum forestry.

Ehh, scythes make for terrible weapons, we'd hurt ourselves more then the enemy.

I'm trying to find a flower that symbolizes growth, but alas, the search is hard-going. I do like aloe as a plant, though, and it could double as a way to heal burns in a pinch.

I'm a little iffy on the warscythe, but as long as we're not using a normal scythe, which is definitely not made for combat, I'll be okay-ish. Warscythes definitely improve upon the normal scythe's design, but I don't know enough about its combat capabilities to tell how effective it is.

In other news... this choice of weapon gives me definite Marluxia vibes. (Though having cherry blossoms as a decoration seems way too silly.:p)

A thoughtful gesture to the Dutch Tulips Sam's Dad got him once upon a time. Never got the color though, so went with orange (which looked real nice on Google Images).

[X][Weapon] A quarterstaff that was broken in half.

What can I say? Wheel of Time made me a fan.

Also, I don't want to come off as rude, but the whole broken saber/warscythe comes off as super cringey. Just, can we not have Sam choosing the most edge lord weapon. Might as well get a bunch of shurikens and fingerless gloves at that point. I get the allusions, but not everything has to be this 1:1 plant-based parallel.

You are thinking of a harvesting scythe which, admittedly, is liable to do just that.

A WAR SCYTHE is a scythe that has been modified into a useful weapon of war and it has been used since early greece and has become a staple for farmers as its shape and swing is similar to a harvesting scythe.... for those who can afford them or during an uprising in which harvesting scythes are modifed inti war scythes.

And I like it even more now. We'll probably get a magical version eventually, but it makes sense to start with the sword version.

Not really flowery though, just wordy.

But it's fine enough the way it is. I've read much worse in PJO fics

???

What do you mean edgy? You are probably picturing a reaper scythe or one of the many useless and over edged "weapons" popularized by gothic art.

A war scythe is literally a harvesting scythe that has been straightened out, thickened near the back, and had the handle lengthened.

It is a tool for the harvest modified for war that was used as a weapon for thousands of years.

Seriously, a war scythe is practical and fits well into our mother's domain of harvest.

Plant growth is pretty devastating defensive ability to beat so i dont think we need to go maximum fulboore

@Monk Penguin I personally prefer it if you refer the cabins by what god they are associated with.

Sure, it's not as weebo as I originally thought, but that was only part of what made it kind of edgy. Just my opinion (obviously) but I can't help but roll my eyes. Like, of course none of the perfectly good, given options were enough and Sam needs to have a clever plant based weapon. I just cringe thinking of everyone using swords, spears, hammers, etc. and then there's Sam waving around a War Scythe in the corner. I mean, does he need to have a themed weapon? Can't he just learn a traditional weapon instead of having to be a special™ protagonist.

Agreed. I think I read the first book once, like 10-12 years ago. Definitely need the Gods to get things straight.
