You're already assuming we'll never be as good as percy. We're already better than he was when he first started by knowing who we are and having decent enough control of our abilities that we dont get exhausted when we use them.

Aim to be best!
Im going to assume you're joking cause realistically the kid who manipulates plants can be pretty freaking strong but this is Percy Jackson were talking about.

a normal demigod is pretty beyond mortals, a decently strong demigod is capable of getting through battles against things like young dragons/drakons, maybe some named monsters and lower end forge god works, a powerful demigod is nigh unstoppable in what they're good at, and then we have percy fucking jackson who can cut through stone and survived being doused with lava and a point blank explosion of mount st. helens.

for more on that explosion thing, it affected half a million people, sent ash as far away as Lake Tahoe and Vancouver, and caused the mountain to be closed off form traffic in a hundred mile radius.

and thats only by the fourth book, before everything went to war (titan or giant)

We're a tiny kid with no superhuman strength. Martial arts will be losing with style

You realize the only reason he survived that was through literal divine intervention. The gods sent him to Calypso's island and probably dropped him in lnto the ocean beside the island and he was still about to die.

We're already, as far as I'm aware, unique as a demigod with our past memories and the concept of growth. We have the time to become one of the best and we already have a headstart

The survival through divine intervention is in and of itself impressive aswell seeing as half the time the gods dont really give half a shit.

As far as being a unique demigod? For having past life memories, sure but that doesnt really do all that much aside from give us a free education and life experience. It gives us nothing in the way of combat which is arguably the biggest part of being a demigod.

As for the concept of Growth? i actually have a theory on that, as far as i suppose it would be similar to Leo, who id guess is especially attuned to the concept of the Forge(or something similar enough). Think about it, hes a master of building things, understands mechanical and magi-tech at a ridiculous level at 'talks' with and commands machines like we do with plants. So yes the concept thing puts us on named character level but Percy is a child of the Big Three and is notably powerful even compared to the other children of the Three. (maybe a concept of his own? Ocean? Combat?).

Ok, lots of ideas being passed around, so let's make a list of skills we'd like to learn! Please copy and add any other ideas for skills

Chlorokinesis (We shall speak for the trees, the trees say get F#*&$% monsters)
Survival (Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. Or, more likely, so we can hobo our way across the country like Percy had to, several times)
Social (We're a weird kid, but lets make friends. Please, I'm sure our dad worries...)
Read up on Greek (Let's know their secret weaknesses. So we know what creatures has poison, or can hypnotize, etc.)
Concept of Growth (Our unique thing, current have the option of using to try and make magic plants)
Archery (so we can go Legolas and shoot people bound by our plants. But mostly, Legolas.)
Melee and/or Combat (So many different melee/combat we could learn. People also want Percy-Grade Combat Monster.)
First-Aid (Remember all those times Annabeth patched up Percy? Yea, ambrosia can heal us, until anymore sets us aflame.)
Parkour/Running (My personal suggestion. Remember all those times Percy and company had to run? So many times... soo many times. Parkour would help.)

Honestly, we need more actions. We only have 3 actions for 2 years, last turn ( Mounting Tenson II and Mounting Tension III) and the turn before ('A New Tension II' through 'Mounting Tension I' ending 'Mounting Tension II'). However...

This was from 'A New Tension II' through 'Mounting Tension I' ending 'Mounting Tension II'.
Over the course of 2 years, you have gained 5 Exp Points in Social, 10 Exp Points, in Gardening, and 10 Exp Points in Chlorokinesis.

I know it says over one year, but Character Sheet went from 5 (and 3 months) to 7 (and 5 month), which is over 2 years. From Mounting Tenson II and Mounting Tension III.
Over one year, you have gotten 20 exp points in Survival, 15 exp points in Chlorokinesis, 1 exp point in Social, and unlocked the Concept of Growth: Stage 1.

So, we've gone from "5-10 exp in each skill we put an action into" to "15-20 exp in each skill we put an action into and unlocking the Concept of Growth: Stage 1". So, the same amount of actions, but more exp. Is this a trait of our Concept of Growth, increased skill growth? IDK, but I'd personally prefer more actions to select more things to train.

Timeline mishaps aside, you're making more progress because of the concept of growth and also because you're getting older.

The option to train more things at a shallow level will come later. This is more about establishing what you'll be good at before things kick into gear. There's a reason the chapters are titled Mounting Tension

Timeline of Mounting Tension Arc
So the only TImeline error is that I said over the course of two years in Mounting Tension II, when it should have said one year. This is now fixed; however, I realize that some people may still be confused about the timeline a bit so I am making this post to clear that up.
  • At the end of Mounting Tension I, you are 5 years old, and the year is 1995.
  • At the end of Mounting Tension II, you are 6 years old, and the year is 1996.
  • At the end of Mounting Tension III, you are 7 years old, and the year is 1997.

Now, you may be wondering why the age was updated from 5 years to 7 years on the character sheet. This is because I forgot to update the age on the character sheet between Mounting Tension I and II. I hope this clears up everything timeline wise.

We are the protagonist of the quest. Why shouldn't we want to make the protagonist as strong as he can be? There are trees whose roots grow deep, that grow strong and to dizzying heights, trees that bend in wind. Growth can mean that we never reach our true potential because we always keep growing. And if we do fail at something, well winter always turns to spring. Like we are the ones choosing how Sam will grow. Why aim high? Whether we reach that goal or not, it's still something that worth pursuing.

I think it would be better to get pur Chlorokinesis to Advanced and our Survival Skills to Intermediate before focusing on other things. And brushing up on Greek mythology doesn't hurt either. Especially since we never know when things might take a turn for the worse any moment now.

As for befriending our classmate, I was kind of on the fence about this, except our social skills are terrible and whether she's a supernatural or mundane person, we need to work on them. Also it might make Dad relax a little to see us behaving like a normal kid.

I don't know about all you guys, but Grover, a Satyr in the series, grew stronger thanks to Percy believing and being his best friend.

Fuck 'em up with Elbows. Enough said.

Guys, with time invested into this one as well, we could, quite literally, create plants that heal even Hydra Poison.

[][Preparation] Your dad knows how to shoot a gun, maybe you should start taking gun safety courses so you can have one as well.
The shit in Harry Potter could've been avoided if Potter or Weasley carried a Glock 9. Let's not make that mistake.

cynical me wants to counter with all the myriad ways that trees break, die, and fail against a fair number of the rest of the pantheon (i.e lightning and wind still tear apart trees, trees are torn down to fuel the engines of war and progress etc. etc.)

but i get where you're coming from and like the idea. heck normally im also making those 'whats stopping us, we can atleast try' post too. Its just that for some reason i get so annoyed by the 'we'll be able to be at the level of, if not past the near godlike mc of the series' and 'mortal/demigod friendships totally wont end badly' things going on.

i want us to get to upper level of named characters but its not like the others are going to stop growing either and us constantly pushing ourself will push others to push themselves aswell. i cant see us reaching the level of one person in setting because hes the modern day equivalent of a greek super hero. people who's feats are almost unmatched in the world. He stands on ground with Achilles and Hercules, which is great but comes with heavy burdens. id be happy with a Theseus, Aeneas, Hector, or Odysseus. Heroes who did great things still but not cause they were that 'once in 10,00 years' kind of demi-god/person.

"The boy who lived... come t--" *BANG!*
"SHIT! Harry, what the fuck?"
"What? He was asking for it."
"Yeah man, not cool. Totally ruined the dramatic moment."

sad thing is, is that shooting him wouldnt even have killed him if i understand how the whole splitting his soul thing.
*BANG!*
"Whoops, snake of Voldy, meet the fastest hands in Hogwarts."
*BANG!*
"Oops, there goes all your horcruxes."

I'm fine with getting a gun lead may not work on monsters but we've got two wars amongst the demigods coming up a la luke and octavian .

Who says we are going to use lead? Hepheastus Cabin, though in return for favors and Drachma, can craft Greek Metal bullets for us. Two to three clips for humans, three to four clips for monsters.

Hopefully we don't turn into a gun nut, though.
Oh, could we create trees that hold guns for us?
Ents with guns!
