Takeuchi wanted to seriously bring Nasu's work and make it well known to public purely because he didn't want Nasu's talent to be wasted. So one day, when their usual TRPG routine amongst friends were going on, Takeuchi pulled Nasu to the second floor and told Nasu to not remain self-satisfied within his circle of friends and think further about his talent. To Nasu, this shocked him because those words given by Takeuchi to him was interpreted as this: "この美しい黄金の夕焼けと比べればお前はどうなんだ (lit. What are you when compared to this beautiful golden sunset)". From there on he had to go serious since then. At the time, Mahou Tsukai no Yoru and his other work, Koori no Hana was written to be used for competition, but both works could not be eligible for entry due to it surpassing the limited characters allowed. This was when both of them decided to setup Takebouki, their doujin circle before Type-Moon was established. (Page 27, 28)

Looks like a magical girl series with a Fate/ twist to it, although I don't think I've seen the protag girl partner up with a male hero before. Might be pulling from Sailor Moon? I know Tuxedo Mask occasionally saved the group there, but I've never seen the series, so couldn't say for sure if I'm on the right track here.

Think it'll get an official translation seeing how FGO is doing well internationally?

I thought we'd gotten a number of Fate/ products localized, though? /Extra, the /Zero and /FSN UBW anime, /Extella and /Grand Order. No /CCC but that's probably due to a combo of it being on the PSP at the end of its lifetime coupled with the... content, in the game. That's still a fair bit of the newer Fate/ content brought to the West.

Sure, but that's the anime and the games, not the novels.

EDIT: I mean Requiem is probably going to get an anime adaption eventually as long as F/GO keeps printing money, but until such time I think we're stuck with fan translations. Just pray it's another OtherSideOfSky picking it up, not another canonrap.

How does a Servant represent your fate? Is this some sort of "you share the same fate as your Servant" thing? Rip that fucker that summons Jeanne. Being burned at stake is not a good way to go.

It's probably that compatibility summons that we already know. Like the Servant that is most compatible to you gets summoned.

Has a Nasu verse work ever had a character still under copyright?

They've had original characters, historical characters, public domain fiction, and references to copyrighted things that vaguely refer to them. The classification for a Servant must be very broad and open in this universe too to allow so many Servants unless there are many copies of the same Servant running around, which is fine for me since the rules seem to get looser and looser, though Shirou himself with Archer Emiya always allowed exceptions for fun and the sake of the story and a lot of exceptions are in built and can be easily added on with how settings work.


If it is the Little Prince, it would be a mess to localize because of international and local copyright laws.

Because of the French author's untimely death during the 1940s during Nazi Germany's invasion of France, his work entered public domain in some countries earlier than others.

Within Japan for example, the work entered public domain this year.
In the US, the work will enter public domain in 20 years. The only way to include the Little Prince in officially published works in America would be to get permission from the copyright holder's estate, twist the character a bit (the Pittle Lrince or Lrittle Pince or something of the like that isn't the Little Prince who instead of crashing in the Sahara crashes in the Gobi or some other thing to keep it legal friendly and technically allowed), not publish in the US or publish in a way that isn't directly monetized or advertising of the brand, publishing claiming its academic literature, or simply publish without permission of the copyright holder and risk the copyright holder seizing all the revenue from nations where the copyright is still enforced.

It's also technically illegal but not enforced in some other nations, but that might change.
