Wow; that was powerful.

The start does well in creating suspense, most of the phrases hand-picked to invoke a sense of unease and [Sakura's] despair. The video follows that tone well, with the bleak, broken imagery. The colors brought in association with the voices cut through that bleakness with searing vividness, a toxic brightness that makes them almost painful to look at. The scene dissolves into a scattering of sakura petals and fade to a seemingly calming white. Yet tension rises, with the overlapping repeats of "Sakura" building up to a crescendo. Finally we get that image of Gil reflected in Sakura's pupils, her scream of denial bringing us to a culmination, and a lone sakura petal is swallowed by rising darkness.

I have to say, that scream honestly sent chills down my spine. Heck, this would have been a great trailer if it just cut off then and there. But no, of course it opts to go well past the breaking point. Aimer kicks in, as if offering a reprieve from the eerie feeling of the previous background track. But it quickly becomes apparent what kind of reprieve it is - the track immediately brings a sense of empowerment but also, of corruption, a dark tone settling as the song evens out after its initial explosion.

Then, silence, and the gut punch that is Shirou fucking Emiya discarding his ideals.

This trailer is so good I wish I could have watched it without knowing what it entails and spent waiting the following weeks for the movie's release in suspense. It's the best teaser for anything Type-Moon, and arguably the best movie trailer I have seen, period.

Edit: Also, look, a Youtube upload that is not region blocked:

Edit 2: Also, this trailer comes off like an answer to the previous one, which ends with Kotomine's voice asking Shirou what he intends to do.

So where's this likely to end? Bahsahkah's death would be a natural action climax but I don't know if that'd be too much to cover/leave too little left for the third movie. Also calling it now, if they do end on the Herc fight they continue to make Shirou OP like they did in the Gil fight by having him exchange blows normally before finishing with Nine Lives because that's more cinematic than just going right for the instakill.

You will take my African knight from my cold dead hands.

...unless he is made a Cynocephalus, in which case I am 100% onboard.
Can't he be both? I mean, he'd have to have a normal looking form so that Masters in a Grail War couldn't guess who he is that easily; Which could still be available for whatever Chaldea's summoning is used for.

My guess is day 14, the kidnapping of Ilya is a climatic end and a nice cliffhanger. Also there's something very satisfying about starting the final movie with the final decision.

The feathered serpent has always been, so it's not like it's a surprise.
Aside from the power requirements, you'll need something that conceptually attracts heroes. The Greater Grail in Fuyuki uses the Rhine gold, and the Chaldea system uses the Round Table of Camelot.

Also, I find it interesting that a treasure cursed to be supernaturally desirable is used to attract legendary figures to a ritual where the last man standing gets the prize, and the table by which people with very different and often conflicting characters gathered united by a greater purpose is used to summon heroes in order to save the world. So, I believe some items may be more suitable than others for a summoning depending on its purpose.
Also, as loath as I am to mention it, Prisma Ilya has Pandora's Box.
Classical and medieval writers believed some weird shit lived in Africa, but I wanna keep my interest in Saracens and monstrous races separated, so it's one or the other for me.

Probably, but it runs into the problem that most heroes aren't going to answer your summoning unless you have a prize on the level of the Holy Grail to bride them with.
"Ohh, Man! It looks like this Grail War will be a tough fight!"

A Fight, you say! Well, 'The Hound of Ulster' always loves a good fight!

Some may prize things differently than others.

That seems to be the case. Roman is pretty explicit in describing Quetz and Kuku as two very different aspects of the same deity.
Yep. I just saw that. The scene basically addressed all my conscerns and made me say: Okay, I'm still annoyed, but now it's because it makes sense in a weird way, but is also kinda cool.

Also, hi pinetree!

I know it was obvious since the end of the last movie and all, but it's still weird to see them advertising Heaven's Feel using Alter.

Nasu-chan... Nasu's wife?
*looks him up on Wikipedia*
Oh wow, Nasu made Canaan? I remember really liking that show. Does that mean it takes place in the Fate/ universe?
