[X] Plan Threading The Compromise Needle 3: The Plan Maker Has No Originality With Names
-[X] [Morse] Bobbi Morse will pretend to be a new bodyguard for Pepper, hired after her ascension to CEO, and sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. after Tony's irresponsible behavior in order to keep an eye for future attacks and theft attempts on the Iron Man technology.
-[X] [Arc] Tony has been been through some physical trauma. The arc reactor in his chest is the only thing keeping him alive, but it's also a weird and untested technology sitting in his chest. A potential side effect could be that the very thing keeping him alive is also killing him. Knowing he has limited time to live could certainly explain Tony driving away the all of the people who are closest to him. (Favreau's Choice)
-[X] [Pepper] Advance from the last movie even more; Tony and Pepper will be officially dating from the beginning, getting engaged at the end of the movie.
-[X] [Maggia] You can at least try to convince him. (Negotiation Roll)
Bobbi Morse will be Pepper's bodyguard, and Favreau accepted the decision with hardly any complaints. As far as he's concerned it would work perfectly what with Tony trying (and failing) to clean up his act somewhat now that he and Pepper are dating. A quick change in Stark's introduction showing them having a moment before he jumps into the Stark Expo was discussed and added afterward.
In the end why change what works? Stark being poisoned and having to find a cure works perfectly as a metaphor on his life being poisoned by the Stark name and the sins of the father. It really shows how much Favreau has been working on the movie that so far every small part is perfectly connected with each other.
This kind of makes you feel bad about the argument you had with him when you brought up the possibility of adding the Maggia to the story. Blowing up might not be the best way to describe it, but it's a close second.
But you're determined on this course; ever since you took over as the head Producer of the MCU you've had this...burst of ideas and inspiration that have stalked you day and night. That's where you had the thought of introducing Wonder Man to the roster, and that same instinct now told you that the Maggia will be one of the best recurring enemies for the Avengers to tackle in the future!
...You'll have to find a way to handle the Kree as well, but you're sure you'll think of something!
Negotiation Roll: 76
Favreau does not like the idea. He really doesn't, he does not want to add an enemy for future avengers, and he does not want to in any way deviate from what he had already set up as an emotional struggle for Tony just so that the Movie serves as a promotional advertisement for future Marvel movies.
It was only a mix of your own skill at knowing what to say, along with a small reminder that technically you are his boss that he eventually agreed, even if he was gritting his teeth all the while, to at least include some measure of the Maggia in the film.
You should feel happy, but at the same time you can't help but feel that you'll have to handle this carefully lest the fragile balance between you collapses.
[] [Maggia] The Maggia will have a small role in the movie; it will mostly consist of Justin Hammer mentioning his new contracts and a small cameo of characters showing a symbol or two of the organization. Fans will surely understand who they are talking about.
[] [Maggia] The Maggia will have a medium role in the movie; one of their agents will contact Justin Hammer and Ivan Vanko offering them aid in their vendetta against Tony Stark, but aside from that they will remain in the shadows.
[] [Maggia] The Maggia will have a greater role in the movie; There will be three agents altogether who will coordinate with both Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer in order to steal the Iron Man technology, with a confrontation against them at the end.
[] [Maggia] The Maggia will be the main instigator and the main enemy in the movie, both Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer are just patsies as they move everything from behind the shadows to take over Stark Enterprises and control the Iron Man technology. (Favreau will not direct a third Iron Man film if selected).
[] [Maggia] Something Else: Write In
The Maggia has a rich and varied history within Marvel, made up of many amazing and colorful members that you're sure many in the audience would find charming and fun...If you owned the rights to them that is! Most of the more popular members of the Maggia made their debut in Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and Daredevil, you can't use them at all!
At least there are some who debuted in either the Avengers or Iron Man (without mentioning the many issues that just didn't have the heroes name in them), so you have a selection...not the most glamorous one, but it's one at least.
Only vote for these options if you selected for the appearance of at least one character of the Maggia.
[] [Characters]
Madame Masque did make her first appearance in Iron Man.
[] [Characters]
Count Luchino Nefaria would require some changes, but it can be done.
[] [Characters]
Frank and Bruno Costa are not prominent in the comics, but both can make an appearance.
[] [Characters] Technically the original
Eel is a Maggia member. You'd have to call him Leopold Stryke.
[] [Characters] Well, the original
Porcupine was Maggia. His name was Alexander Gentry.
[] [Characters] The
Unicorn, Milos Masaryk, could also work.
When it came to the story finale there was a formula to follow in Superhero stories: There is climactic clash between the forces of good and the forces of evil. And Favreau does not intend to break it this time around (
perhaps someday).
[] [Climactic Fight] Ivan Vanko attacks the Stark Expo alongside the Drones he created with Justin Hammer and the War Machine armor (which is being controlled by him). Iron Man works with Bobbi Morse to find a way to break the control.
[] [Climactic Fight] Ivan Vanko first lets the Drones and War Machine armor attack the Stark Expo while he waits for the right time to attack. Iron Man holds them down as Bobbi Morse tries to break down the control over the War Machine Armor.
[] [Climactic Fight] Ivan Vanko attacks Iron man directly after finding his location while the Drones and the War Machine armor attack the Stark Expo. Bobbi Morse has to find a way to break the control over them.
[] [Climactic Fight] Something Else: Write In
Another idea that you came up with and introduced to Favreau involved the character of Justin Hammer. Mainly, that since he was mostly being used by Vanko in the end, perhaps he could be of aid to the heroes in trying to stop Vanko in the final fight.
[] [Hammer] Yes, Justin Hammer will aid (if reluctantly) the heroes in order to stop Vanko (and not get jailed/media purposes).
[] [Hammer] No, Justin Hammer will remain as a villain, refusing to aid the heroes.
With all of that done, you only needed to find a good title for the film.
[] [Title]
Iron Man 2
[] [Title]
Iron Man: Sins of the Father
[] [Title]
The invincible Iron Man
[] [Title]
Iron Man: Spy Games
