There is no emotion... (A Jedi Order Quest)

One of the Yuuzhan Vong Shaper Executives, the leaders of their society; the executioners of their legislature; has requested our help with a fact-finding mission to a pre-Hyperspace society within their borders. They are, apparently, not overly far from the leap. While the Vong usually use their incredible prowess in shaping flesh to do as such, implanting agents within their society, the last few dozen they have sent have disappeared.
That does sound worrying.
GO-TO droids helping in the reconstruction of the Lothal Sector have started behaving...oddly. While, by and large, they are within what would be normal for droids, considering what Go-To was like, I feel the need to keep watch.
Most certainly!!!
They have asked us to help ensure the safety of their workers. Unfortunately, they didn't take my advice and just nuke the site from orbit.

Although, to be fair, I suppose having Kiwaga city blown to bits might be a bit of a hard-sell...
You think, Atton?
-Councilor Atton Rand-

We have restored power to ten percent of the facility.

I have a real bad feeling about this...
SAVE THE GAME, SAVE THE GAME!!!
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

Way back, a hundred or so years ago, a wandering band of pirates secretly crashed in the middle of a desolate scratch of desert, pummeled by the absolute ferocity of the Antalderi Nebula. Using that technology and with other visiting aliens near-constant, a capital-fascist conspiracy seized power in an invisible coup, deeming themselves guardians of their species without consent of the guarded, hiding knowledge and claiming all practical political power.

Unfortunately for them, a Jedi is not so easily dispatched. Nor, for that matter, a Shaper.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't, in a certain sense, glad that it will be the Vong defusing that mess and not the Republic.

Of course, with my luck I'll be back here in six months.
(+15 PP, in the background Vong Republic Border Protocol formalized)
That's good.
Mission 10 (Coruscant)
-Knight Atias-

The Initiates are currently practicing their control by clearing rubble from-

GAH!

Who dropped that on me?!
Heh. :D

Mission 4 (Councilor Atton Rand, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 3 Padawans, The Colonies)
-
Councilor Atton Rand-

Protocol droids.

Villains beware, we have fussbuckets.

Still, what isn't soaked in evil could be helpful for future artisans of the Order.

(+15 Knowledge)
... Why do I have the feeling this will come back to bite hard? Strip a couple of 'em down unti you know every last bit of their programming, I say.

Because you wisely realize droids break. In the head.
Or wherever they put their head, if I remember the conversation between Master Rand and the R2-D2 substitute who is no longer with us.

Also, was Atton not there when Meetra 'repaired' the disused protocol droids in the Dantooine ruins to walk around and eventually explode, taking laigreks and wahtever else was nearby with them? The making of would-be-harmless protocol droids into unknowing suicide bombers felt vaguely horrifying.

Also the HK-50s were a thing that Atton had no choice but to be aware of with the whole Peragus thing, so I am actually really surprised Atton isn't in full "check for traps" mode.

He is, that's why they called him.

Synod of Dantooine (3944 BBY)
Synod of Dantooine

As the order has regrown, various matters have grown to a medium importance. Some merely administrative: which temple will be the permanent capital; and others...not: Hutt refugees report what sounds suspiciously like Jedi-Syncretic cults.

However there is an argument to be made that you are not ready to answer these questions.

Will you host the Synod of Dantooine?

[] Yes. Host the Synod of Dantooine in 3944 BBY, dealing with at least the two aforementioned matters.

[] No.

I'm going to be a little busy over the weekend, so I figured setting myself up for a long vote would be a good idea.

Ex Cathedra, the matters discussed are important but not immediate.

Moratorium for 12 hours.

I think this can be held off a few more years personally but I wouldn't complain if we chose to do it anyway. I just think we should wait a bit longer when the order has more then 50 knights and a few more master's before doing this.

The Jedi Syncretic thing concernes me and I don't want to let it wait less it turn into something bad.

Edit: Woops fixed. Sorry i am busy with stuff and was distracted.

Syncretic cults are the "The roman gods got scared of something so they went to egypt a while and went under different names" kinda thing. Dilutes credibility without getting us the benefit of Thousand Sparks. I mean, if we deliberately choose to spread far and wide and acquire a bunch of different traditions and skills and knowledge bases under our umbrella, that's one thing. It happening automatically without our saying so and without benefiting us is right out.

Yeah. This sort of thing is how you get Jensaarai, Blackguard, etc.
Which is great if it's on purpose and a mess if it isn't.

And a reason why I personally don't want to take a thousand sparks path in our development tree. We're small enough as is we don't need our order to start splintering at this stage into other force sects especially with the next great Sith Empire/War coming that's why I've been supporting a hundred flames instead better to build on fewer worlds but entrench ourselves there. And we can still avoid the canon fate of the order(which to be honest is already out the window with us not moving our headquarters to corusant.) If we keep making changes.

I think it's good to deal with it early before it festers.

I do hope there's an opportunity to investigate, steal learn what they know, and either assimilate or correct the thing rather than passing ivory tower judgment from our dantooine farming silo.
