There is no emotion... (A Jedi Order Quest)

Wow we failed a mission on Coruscant that doesn't happen often we made up the difference immediately after but still that kind of stings.
The core might be mostly diplomacy stuff, but this is a good reminder that it's not exclusively that.

Didn't see this until now; if you could in the future, tallying up the totals for each ability area and patrol route is a big help to people in evaluating plans. It's difficult to do accurately at a glance. It probably also helps the QM a whole lot, because it's a lot of math.

@Voikirium - Dunno if the Status page is up to date or not; if it is, I believe we've got 40 Jedi capable of taking padawans.

We've received reports of a derelict ship broadcasting an SOS, on a collision course with Coruscant. While the planetary shields should be capable of taking it to the chin, that's a hell of a "should" to gamble on. We're using my ship to check it.
What the frak kind of ship it is that it has a chance to punch through a planetary shield and orbital defenses?
a local polit-cult is claiming the entire thing is a hoax, to a terrifying degree, clogging up the system.
*Unamused stare*
A mook I turned in way back when, before I met Meetra. He wants to make me watch him kill...uh, a whole lot of people. He's got himself protected by ray-shield as he plunges the ship towards the surface; with an ionic field, he should manage to pierce right through the shields and slam into the surface.
Well, guess that explains it. Also, shit, that's bad.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to discover the rich and powerful are actually just as freakish as the rest of us.

By which I mean "holy shit, the guy has been helping traffic slaves off planet, including their training, 'underneath' the law's nose."

Fortunately, he was more stealthy than secure. Shouldn't be too hard to bring the whole rotten house down on his head.
Aw, Hell no! We're putting a stop to that.
Hutts may not vulnerable to mind tricks, but they sure can be bribed pretty easily.
(Gain access to Hutt Space)
Interesting asset, but hard to work in. Jedi have no jurisdiction in Hutt space, but having this access is going to be helpful.

Councilor Mira

I keep...I keep looking at the apartments.

I failed, Master. I tried to overload the ray shield with my missiles, and it almost worked.

But the ship gave out before the shields. The craft blastgunned into an apartment building, and we were almost caught in it.

As is, the Coruscanti are less than impressed.
Oh no...

Padawan Iolete Shirote

Sithspit, that should not have worked. Of the course, the Kaynan cultists don't care. But I did manage to convince the legal establishment that they could actually do something, in "crossing their t's and dotting their i's" sort of way. So, rather than spreading the disease throughout an innocent population, they're cooling their heels in temporary holding cells.

Or permanent, as the case may be, considering some of the barve dung we found on their terminals...

For every one politico kriffed that I exposed their ally as a monster, three just got all the political capital they could ever ask for. Helps that I didn't kill him; instead, he is currently on his way to any number of prisons on the planet. Most of them he opened.

Serves him right, the pig.

Just wanted to get this up because I'm going to have to update the front page, which is going to involve a whole lot of my greatest foe: MATH. So it might take a while.

Speaking of math, when we make plans what math helps you by saving you time? I've been pre-adding up stat totals, but I don't know if that's the most useful thing for you.

The stats thing is definitely useful, since I only need to look and see that rather than looking up what it would be myself and losing track of the numbers and oh dear I've gone crosseyed

BEHOLD, I have made the MARK ONE JEDI CALCULATOR.

This will quickly do the math for you to calculate patrol route totals.

You're welcome, and thank you for the great quest.

Edit: Oh, and let me know if you have any troubles or it needs updating.

Should make things a bit more reliable. We've failed a few missions lately, so we might have stretched the numbers too thin. Probably likely that people will want to add another patrol route, too.
I'd be ready to take another patrol route when those 40 padawans raise to full fledged jedi.

I have the Omake Rewards ready!

[] Shrine of First Light: Shockingly, a Council consisting of the wisest beings in the galaxy had plans. Included was a small shrine (hence the name) containing a number of Tythonian tapestries, with a good chunk of valuable knowledge held within. (+20 Knowledge)
[] Finishing Up: On Ossus, a small building finishes reconstruction ahead of schedule. (+20 Ossus, you may decide what the building is)
[] A Fine Engineer: Bao-Dur sends schematics for a power generator to the Yuuzhan Vong, pleasing the Republic Senate. (+20 PP)

Only Talies may vote. Remember, vote like this:

Thank you @Voikirium, this was super nice of you. I hope the calculator is helpful to you and people making plans.

Going with this one. 20 PP would be useful, but I think 4 points of research is the largest bonus of the options, and Tython stuff is cool. (Hopefully we can locate a hyperspace route there, eventually.)

Alright. I will keep that noted, Mission Report up probably tomorrow or "Fuck me it's late" tonight.

Mission Report 3943 BBY Q2
Mission Report 3943 BBY Q2

Mission 1 (The Core, Councilor Mira, 1 Jedi Consular, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 4 Padawans)

Councilor Mira

I had hoped to try and recover from our failure by helping just to rebuild the buildings destroyed after that-

Hh.

After we failed. Unfortunately, it's not to be: bits of the pieces of the ship are still intact enough to arc electricity around, and they're right in the way of the work crews.

We will remove them.

Mission 2 (The Mid-Rim, Councilor Bastila Shan, Consular Atris, 2 Jedi Sentinels, 3 Jedi Guardians, 6 Padawans)
Councilor Bastila Shan

A...delicate situation has developed on the Mid-Rim worlds of Gara, Chuga and Desra. During the Great Hyperspace War, Gara allied themselves with the Sith and was their agent to occupy the aforementioned worlds, which were themselves allied to the Jedi. Though, in the end, they failed, millions died in the war that followed.

Now the two are planning a diplomatic visit to try and normalize relations further after tensions during the Mandalorian Wars that never quite came to blows. We are to help lube up the proceedings, but this may prove difficult.

Mission 3 (The Outer Rim, Councilor Atton Rand, 3 Jedi Consulars, 3 Jedi Sentinels, 5 Padawans)
Knight Zez Kyrido

Oh the fascinating things you'll see on the Outer Rim.

For instance, a Cult dedicated to Revan the Liberator on an otherwise uncontacted planet that was, well, liberated during the Mandalorian War. Which would not be a problem, except somehow a Dismalist schismatic has taken root, preaching the "balance" of Revan. Pure Bantha Fodder, but the locals including the Force Sensitives are proving easily seduced by the ideals.

This may be a problem.

Mission 4 (The Colonies, Councilor Visas Marr, 4 Jedi Sentinels, 4 Padawans)
Councilor Visas Marr

Always echoes. From every deed, good and bad. But not every echo is as terrible as that which eternally runs throughout Meetra.

Consider, for instance, freeing a world from pirate siege. Portentous, and noble; but it has its effects. Among them mostly for the good: supplies, art, and relief traveling to a world which, for decades, had been trapped.

Among those echoes? The Warlord Ushragan was forced, finally, to flee to his stronghold again. If we can capture him, that will mean a great many wrongs set right and enough information to set aflame the entire Outer Rim Slave Network. The only problem is a small army of mercenaries stands between he and we. It will require cunning to claim him, not brute force.

But perhaps...Force, will suffice.

Mission 5 (The Expansion Region, Grandmaster Bao-Dur, 4 Jedi Guardians, 2 Jedi Consulars, 2 Jedi Sentinels, 6 Padawans )
Grandmaster Bao-Dur

Something isn't right here. I feel a presence, as I have never felt before. It is as if a world...dies, in them, every moment; or they die, and the world perishes with them.

But it is not merely like us, whatever it is, I can tell you that much.

Mission 6 (Councilor Juhani, Councilor Mical, 3 Sentinels, 1 Guardian, and 1 Consular)
Councilor Juhani

We have made contact with one of the Syncretic Cults. They do not quite seem to believe their good fortune. Not that I dislike receiving hospitality, but it is strange how almost...desperate and cloying they seem for our approval. Something is wrong.

Mission 1 (The Core, Councilor Mira, 1 Jedi Consular, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 4 Padawans)
Councilor Mira

Well, aside from a few electrical burns and having to try and choke out a livewire by myself, so far things are alright.

Mission 2 (The Mid-Rim, Councilor Bastila Shan, Consular Atris, 2 Jedi Sentinels, 3 Jedi Guardians, 6 Padawans)
Councilor Bastila Shan

There is a problem. The ambassadors' sons were found in flagrant, together; the two are threatening to scuttle talks, unless someone can throw something in their way, and soon.

Mission 3 (The Outer Rim, Councilor Atton Rand, 3 Jedi Consulars, 3 Jedi Sentinels, 5 Padawans)
Knight Zez Kyrido

There is something weak about these people. Their connection to the Force, the power they can wield, it isn't as it should be. Most of them should be capable of tossing me around like a ragdoll, but for some mysterious reason the most they have hitherto proven capable of is the most basic of work, which can be powered through with enough precision. Fortunate, as about three quarters of the Cult want to burn me even as a fourth actually pays heed to what I say about Revan.

Mission 4 (The Colonies, Councilor Visas Marr, 4 Jedi Sentinels, 4 Padawans)
Councilor Visas Marr

Ushragan expects the roar of a lion and the scream of a lightsaber.

Instead he will find the whisper of the wind.

Kreia's holocron has proven most helpful in methods to sneak past droids, even ignoring the glorified torture beam she was "hypothesizing" at the time the holocron was born. Apparently she developed it during the Mandalorian Wars-- the fancy cameras they use on their helmets was very good practice for tricking the supposedly untrickable inorganic matter.

I can only hope to be her equal.

Mission 5 (The Expansion Region, Grandmaster Bao-Dur, 4 Jedi Guardians, 2 Jedi Consulars, 2 Jedi Sentinels, 6 Padawans )
Grandmaster Bao-Dur

What would you do if an entire celestial object was evil?

That is not, I repeat not, a hypothetical. We have discovered a new world, where a small moon and its inhabitants are threatening the locals of an underdeveloped planet. They are a hivemind, biological creatures living in a terrible symbiosis with the blasted moon's surface.

Sometimes it is subtle, hacking into travel satellites to lure travelers to a grisly end.

Other times it is using ancient secrets of the Dark Side to drive an several towns mad all at once in an orgy of violence.

I killed a planet once; Force, do not make me do it again.

Mission 6 (Hutt Space Councilor Juhani, Councilor Mical, 3 Sentinels, 1 Guardian, and 1 Consular)
Councilor Juhani

Enforcers. Slave catchers, prettied up and told to enforce the brutal whims of their bosses, given a badge and a gun and an ego. Right now, on their way here.

I realize the Senate prefers noninterference in this matter, but it will be a cold day somewhere very hot before I sit back and let these people be slaughtered. You can chastise me if you'd like later.

Mission 1 (The Core, Councilor Mira, 1 Jedi Consular, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 4 Padawans)
Councilor Mira

We have succeeded at cleaning the area. The results will be smelted down and used in reopening parts of the Coruscant Temple.

(+10 Coruscant, +10 PP)

Mission 2 (The Mid-Rim, Councilor Bastila Shan, Consular Atris, 2 Jedi Sentinels, 3 Jedi Guardians, 6 Padawans)
Councilor Bastila Shan

I decided my good name was worth less than peace between the stars, and so convinced the ambassadors that I was at fault by facilitating the matter. As I hoped, they are more busy insulting me than they are yelling at each other, though it is very embarrassing personally and for the order.

Mission 3 (The Outer Rim, Councilor Atton Rand, 3 Jedi Consulars, 3 Jedi Sentinels, 5 Padawans)
Knight Zez Kyrido

The Force is many things: beautiful, wise, just and true.

The one thing it is not, is indecisive. And so as these people attempted to wield both the vile, scum-covered underbelly of the Dark Side and the Real Force they found nothing but failure. Anger drove out joy, hate love, and fear, wisdom. So in the end they knelt and accepted the Truth of Revan: no-one may serve two masters.

Either a Knight or a Lord, righteous or unrighteous, all must make the choice. The writings of Revan, compiled during the early phases of the Mandalorian war and before he left are even now being taken to their planet, to be studied. In time they may fully join the Order.
(+15 Knowledge)

Mission 4 (The Colonies, Councilor Visas Marr, 4 Jedi Sentinels, 4 Padawans)
Councilor Visas Marr

We have succeeded. He is on his way to Soccorro, where they are most eager to take from him all manner of knowledge.

Mission 5 (The Expansion Region, Grandmaster Bao-Dur, 4 Jedi Guardians, 2 Jedi Consulars, 2 Jedi Sentinels, 6 Padawans )
Grandmaster Bao-Dur

I told them. I broadcast to the entire moon, what would happen: that I would scorch their flesh. That I would burn their atmosphere off. Gravity itself would crush them to paste in a single, terrible moment.

So it fled.

I have never, not once, forgotten the construction of the Mass Shadow Generator. Just this time, it was turned to good.

The locals are very confused that an entire moon has disappeared. I have told them nothing. Fortunately, the hateful moon had not been near enough for its gravity to become a necessity; the Force was strange in that one.
(+5 PP)

Mission 6 (Hutt Space, Councilor Juhani, Councilor Mical, 3 Sentinels, 1 Guardian, and 1 Consular)

The Enforcers took one look at us and decided they weren't being payed enough. We have, therefore, made real, friendly contact with one of the cults.
(Made contact with cult)

Bao-Dur's PP is because he had to pull the Threatened War Crime Card to win, not exactly a non-controversial move to the Senate.

(OOC It was an easy check, hence the reward)

Well, at least it could have ended far worse.

Ah, that explains the problems they were having.
The locals are very confused that an entire moon has disappeared. I have told them nothing. Fortunately, the hateful moon had not been near enough for its gravity to become a necessity; the Force was strange in that one.
Got lucky there, losing an actually important moon is no joke.

(Made contact with cult)
Yeah, that's what smart thugs tend to do when faced with jedi.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say passing on Revan's early mando war ideas to ardent adherents of the Revan Did Nothing Wrong club is maybe a mistake and might just cause a fountain of darksiders going forwards. :V

Interesting array of results all around.
