[X] Bring a video feed of it in the cell

[X] Point 1: Talk about ourselves and tell all what XCOM is. We are a D-travel capable group of liked minded people, that came together to fight the good fight and help protect those who can't protect themselves from threats they can't handle. As there are a lot of things out there in the infinity of existence that need a good punch in the face or a helping hand from time to time and that is why our group came into being. AKA we are the space rangers/paladins.
[X] Point 2: Talk about our discovery of the UFOs, how we decided to wait out while we tried to get our bearings and hope it was a peaceful First Contact. Talk about how we reacted when they began attacking, and how we would come to get the live Alien. Bullshit some vague explanation of how we managed to interrogate the alien.
[X] Point 3: Talk about what we found out from the alien, make an analogy about how they're European colonists who have come to North America, and we're the native-americans. That an alien warship with potentially millions of soldiers is coming in six months, and humanity must mobilize. How XCOM needs more funding, how we need to ramp up production so we can arm the nation-states with military equipment. Tell them we're already taking steps to build humanity's first FTL warship for orbital defense, in addition to plans to build more anti-orbital batteries.
[X] Tone: Formal, matter of fact and measured for Points 1 & 2. Talk in a more grave and alarmed tone by Point 3.

Um...

Mind if I just omit point one?

I'd be fine with it, because it's the one point we don't all agree on.

@I just write Since we have a experienced Magician on staff, are teleportation spells a thing, and what are their range?
Teleportation spells are a thing, but without a truly obscene amount of madness their range is limited to the triple-digit kilometers at most, and they don't start cheap. Unlike your teleportation machines however, they have no problems with going through solid matter.

What other types of spells does he have access to? I believe you implied he can do personal enhancement, but is there anything else? Can we use him as a budget precog? Can he make supernatural bombs with exotic effects? Mind magic? Curses?

And if he can indeed buff people, can he do the same for robots?

You'd have to ask him.
Edit: He certainly knows at least one curse, and it's a REALLY nasty one.

So we don't really gotta worry about people following us with Teleportation, and ESPECIALLY don't have to worry about them tracing us to the moon or further.

Some of the stuff he can do is on the front page.

Oops. Thanks, I didn't check the character page. Looking at his abilities, the Luck Shield sounds like a good precaution for when we go out somewhere (like talking to the UN), and he can use us to power it, right?
@I just write ? Because if he could set up a permanent version of that on us, being powered by our own madness, that would be awesome.

Also, something I just considered we should probably set up, if we lose consciousness we should be automatically teleported back to base (supposing we aren't somewhere where teleporting out would be hazardous, our Smart Clothes should be able to do that). That way, even if some kidnappers knock us out before we can teleport out, we are extracted anyways.

I'm also wondering what sort of information we got from the alien wrecks, if any. Since his uber-curse works through images, getting photos/holograms of their military leadership could come in handy when they give the invasion a second try. Right now the distance is probably a bit too much, but when they come back, they'll be perfect fodder for our magic.

Even if it doesn't work over this distance, we could fairly easily go pay them a visit. Our fastest scout ship can make the trip that is taking them 6 months in 2 days.
Though I question how effective just taking out their leadership would be. They might fairly easily put a new leader in charge.

I reckon finding competent replacements for so many people would be difficult, and we can repeat the trick if we get some spybots onto their ships. That's possible with our technology, right?

Maybe he can make a less intense version of the spell that would leave them still capable of doing their job, just being really bad at it due to bad luck?

I'm not so sure if we can get spybots on their ships. We got teleportation, but that only works over 20,000 km, and I don't know at what distances fights in space regularly take place at. If they can fairly easily detect ships at distances greater than that, they'd spot our ships before we get close enough to beam people on, and then there is a question of how advanced thier internal ship security is.
Though, actually, we should technically know the answers to both of these questions. The prior from fighting them, the latter from having rummaged through a fair number of their ships and tech.
@I just write At what distances do space-battles generally take place at, and how far away can they usually detect ships? And supposing we can get a bot on board, would it staying undetected be hard, or is their on ship security rather pitiful?

If you're within 1,000 km, that's considered knife-fight range. Anything within 25,000 km is considered close range. 1.5 light seconds is the farthest out someone can reasonably get engaged in space.

How about for the other questions? Range at which ships can generally be detected, and security level on the alien ship ones.
Ship detection can actually happen at up to a light minute out, and I'm not telling you what the inside of the alien ship is like until you go look at it IC.

We've been on several ships, I'd think our dude would have a a fair bit of understanding of how much security there is on one, both from memories possibly lifted from X-Com, and from the ship remains that are currently floating in space.

The answer's still no. If you like you could try and wring the answer out of your 'guest' but that has its own issues.

Breaking the news 1
Ultimately, you decide to bring along a video representation of the alien to head off any potential misunderstandings. Without any further delays you suit up, grab a hologram projector to show what's going on in Lovall's cell, and head to the teleportation core. You beam yourself across to the UN HQ, inside the reception area.

They're expecting you this time, and you quickly get shuffled inside to the central room, ready to make your presentation. You set down the hologram projector in the middle of the room, and turn it on, showing the default globe with a basic orbital map. You begin "As you already know, aliens are invading Earth." At this the view shifts to where one of the destroyed UFOs was drifting into deep space a week ago before you salvaged it.

"What we didn't know until now, is just where the aliens are coming from." At this the projection shifts to a 3-D image of the alien in its cell. "One of the aliens aboard those ships managed to survive, and we captured it. In the subsequent interrogations, it was determined that there's a massive colony ship coming for Earth in about 6 months."

You nod, and then continue "There are 13,000,000 aliens aboard that colony ship, and they're looking for someplace to settle down in a very great hurry. While theoretically they could set up on Mars or similar, due to some unforeseen circumstances on their part they failed to bring enough food, meaning that they have to either settle on a world with an existing food supply, namely Earth, or deal with upwards of 90% of their population dying of starvation."

"Quite bluntly if we don't act quickly we're likely to be colonized, and we've got plenty of experience as a species of what happens to the locals when someplace gets colonized." At this the eyes of all the diplomats around you widen slightly.

The ambassador from Nigeria asks "Is there any likelihood that a peaceful resolution is possible?"

(A/N: While the aliens are assholes, they're also pragmatic about trying to get all their people through this crisis. Please keep this in mind.)
