The Power(Harry Potter/The Gamer)

Though he could just tell them hell no when they say they want him to take divination.
point. and the thing about divination is that it is actually technically true. we are "divining" info about people by studying them a bit. And will it really be so bad if people knew we can tell people's name just by looking at them?
Also, it is possible that divination lessons might actually work for us. at worst it will be a time for us to grind divination spells for levels

Lets do both, we go "dunno, accidental magic?" and if anyone "that's not how it works" we "magical scar might have helped".
the funny thing is that the scar really is magic and really does do magical stuff. it is also unprecedented since we are the only person in history to survive the killing curse (when cast by an adult who is trained in its proper casting, not in the nosebleed version a child might cast) and said curse left us with a real honest to goodness magic scar. Heck if people study it they might discover its link to voldemort.

I think the scar lost its magic when Harry became a Gamer and the horcrux was banished.

I think its been mentioned that it will now slowly fade away (though probably not completely) over the years as scars do.

It has no power anymore in this quest. We won't benefit from the link to Voldemort.

That just makes it an even better target for blaming things we don't feel like explaining on. That it doesn't actually do anything will add another layer of misdirection for us.

Yes, but is there infinite range to that, or does it need to be nearby? I would think people would call in House Elves into battle whenever they come under attack if they could do it at any time.
Dobby popped all over England at will and if I remember the scene correctly told Harry that master was calling before popping away once and said he'd have to punish himself? (I can't remember exactly, been a long time since I've read the second book)

[X] Get an adult. Sure the only one you've seen on the train is the trolly lady, but...

Far too late for this to matter, but somebody on the train will have means of quick communication with the rest of the world. That could be as simple as a fireplace and a handful of floo powder. Sending an owl is like mailing a letter to the police when you could pick up a telephone.

Popping all over England at will isn't in question - they can Apparate to places even wizards can't.

The question is what if any limitations there are on their master calling them. Can they be called only by their actual master, or by any member of the family they serve? Can they be called from anywhere, or can they only be called freely at home or if they are close by? The wiki unfortunately doesn't mention anything about summoning them or any limitations there are on this. Frankly I would have to say there are some limits, if only again because anyone who had a bunch of House Elves would simply call them when they're attacked to come to their defense.

If you're going by that logic, they'd be taking House Elves to battle anyway, whether they could pop far distances or not. Well, unless you subscribe to the 'wizards are too stupid to make proper use of their overpowered servants' idea. They've got amazing abilities, but the only way to reconcile that with the reality of them rarely if ever being used for anything aside from cleaning is that there's some hidden limitations. No idea what those could be though, as they seem to attack wizards and participate in the Hogwarts Battle just fine.

Also, I wonder what Dumbledore will think after he hears about this...
Dumbledore's Hypotheses:
1. Harry's a time-traveler.
2. Power he knows not! Maybe even power of love? Lily better not have included a magical library in her protection spell!
3. Reincarnation of Godric Gryffindor/Salazar Slytherin/Merlin/Morgana.
4. He's Voldemort's equal. This is only to be expected.
5. Moody is a fucking great teacher. Hire him?
6. Goddamn Horcruxes.
...
:lol

D&D Remove Curse should work. We just need to wait until we have a competent Defense teacher.

Harry Potter moved in to deal the finishing blow to the possessed Defense teacher. Before suddenly stopping. "Wait! Almost forgot. Remove Curse. Alright, now continue."

Later on. "Professor Dumbledore, the last Defense teacher mysteriously burst into flames right after I removed the curse from the position. Can you hire someone good now?"

Ok, reading the update and a page or two afterwards, I noticed something.

People keep voting to use the 'Petrifying curse' which confused the hell out of me, considering a plot point in the second movie is that people are being petrified and nobody knows how or why.

So I looked it up on the front page to see why people think we're capable of such a thing and found this:
  • Petrifying curse(petrificus totalus)(2nd year)
Thing is, I'm pretty sure petrificus totalus is the 'full body bind' and works similar to the leg locking curse we already cast, though admittedly it's more secure and effective (neville could hop when leg locked)

Anyways my point is that I object to it being called the petrifying curse, and I also don't think it's necessary, but I guess there's no reason not to either.

I would suggest transfiguring a metal box with very small holes on top (for air) and locking him inside, but that may be seen as excessive.

Harry calls Kreacher whilst they're both at Hogwarts, but I don't know beyond that.
