The Power(Harry Potter/The Gamer)

speaking of AD&D.
Monk class exists in 1st ed.

Pscionic powers are available.

Alternate systems include Champions (HERO systrm should be 3rd edition at this poi t)

Well, hmm, the witcher comes out pretty soon. It's actually been published as short stories, though not yet in english, the english versions start coming out in 1992 though and that should definitely be something for us to look into, Witcher signs, tracking, monster lore, sword techniques, potion making, tons of good stuff, definitely worth looking into when second year comes rolling around. Hell, we might even manage to pick up Witcher as a class. Now that would kick ass.

Axii seems like it would be particularly useful.

Languages aren't an issue in HPland; there has to be a magical method of learning them. Ludo bagman knows 600+ in canon and there quite literally does not exist enough time for him to have learned them. First he was a pro quidditch player then he was employed at the ministry.

The only explanation for being fluent in that many languages is that there's a magical method for learning them.

This is a great idea, witchers were even capable of figthing wizards!!

we should create a list of series to gain powers from.

hmm... gundam has already been going for a few years....

Shin Megami Tensei was released in 1992, what do you guys think of summoning demons?

I think it perfectly reasonable application of our abilities, too bad persona doesn't come out until 1996.

Well there we go then, Witcher away, I figured we'd have to wait until second year regardless though, since we're at Hogwarts. Though, we could have Hermione ask her parents to pick them up for us and pay them back.

Should the boy be sent away?

[X] Allow the boy to sit in the compartment. It's getting rather full though, won't fit but two more person in comfortably at this rate.

You're thinking of Barty Crouch Sr. And it was 200+, including Mermish, Troll and Gobbledegook.

I'd hardly say that. For one, he could be a linguistic genius. If he takes a bout a month to learn each language, it would only take 50 years to learn 600. And given how long-lived Wizards are, that is very feasible for one. Especially since a number of those languages are probably rather similar, making learning between them rather easy.
Also, :Citation Needed:, I tried to look it up myself, but while I could find a Ludo Bagman, I could find no mention of him knowing over 600 languages.

Level up enough to get construct creation? Then we could build our own mechanized war machines, I'm all for that, clockwork dragons are beast. Take it a step further and we can have an army of automated soldiers, but that seems like it may be a fair bit in the future,

you know, I think Warhammer is out now too. Something to look into.

It was mentioned in a single sentence somewhere; and he's not OLD enough even if it only took a month per language.
Yeah, no. You're still thinking of Crouch.
Unless we learn how to make our own Phaser, we can't get one. We learn skills after all, we don't get items. The only skill that comes to mind is the Vulcan Nerve Pinch.
Mind Meld would be pretty useful. Like a stronger touched base Legilimency.

Well, you need to find that sentence. And the Wiki says he wsa born before 1964, and that's it, so he very well could be old enough.
Yeah, no. You're still thinking of Crouch.
If he is, 200+ languages is much more attainable than 600+. So again, entirely plausible he learned it from just hardwork and/or being a linguistic genius.

I remember Bagman talking about how crouch can speak one hundred and fifty languages, then Percy corrects him saying he can speaks over two hundred. That's somewhere in the fourth book, I'm sure of it. Just not where. Be easy to misremember it as Bagman saying he knew that many.

If we're good at potions by then, why not, if we aren't though, eh. Though once we figure out grinding I don't see how we wouldn't be.

STOPUUU!!!

what about THE FORCE ?:p

Well, we can gain abilitie but not bring a semi sentient energy into being, plus force aptitude is based on biology. Might give us bonuses to wandless kinetic based magics though.

Looking into making a Lightsaber that works on magical principals, could be feasible though, some sort of sunlight storing rune array, or a hyper concentrated light spell, I'll think on it.
