The Perfectly Normal High School: A Slice of Life Quest! (Defunct)

Actually, the first batch of unit tests happened at the end of Week 3, and scores will be coming out at the end I MEAN BEGINNING IGNOTE THAT TEXT of Week 4. After which there'll be a good 4 game weeks (approximately sixty-thousand years in real-time :() before we have to worry about unit tests again. At that point the SKL threshold for not getting a bad result will be 7.

Speaking of my horrible ineptitude at time management, I've made it my goal (read: pipe dream) to have an update by tomorrow night, so I'll lock the vote nao~

Alright so hearing that it's a whopping 7. +5 From the last one geez.

Uh, I suggest from now on each turn we grab a study action as one of our 4 choices. That should get us enough to 7. Assuming minimum +1 a week, we'll be at 6.25 and probably an extra +1 SKL from some sort of event/bonus actions that occur during that time period. Maybe from our group study sessions.

We'll clear it then.

Damn, yeah. Grinding up to Genius or Quick would be useful too. Those give a passive boost and would let us spend more time doing other Yumika things. You mean Nanami... right? Please answer me! ...Oh. Okay. ;-;

I just came off a Persona kick so I'm all ready and up for some SCHEDULING.

Maybe we should play Persona in-game. For Charisma AND Scheduling power!

Also remember we don't need to work EVERY night.

DreamerLuci probably won't mind. She doesn't do anything productive on her free time anywaOh fuck off, jackass, like you're any better and it's not like we need the money for anything urgent.

*A new theory emerges!* Wait, this is an SCP world, right? Then couldn't there be...meta-monsters/anomalies? Like, memetic ones or such. Hell, we're already going into the rabbit hole with Nanami...

Yeah, I figure we should go check out the mall next week, and see what all we can buy. Then we decide how often we should work from then on.

But being a productive member of society!

And moneys!

I'd love to get Genius.

Nah, let it burn. We need a phone (we voted in to resume AI creation - but where would we run it?), and possibly a new PC, and that means we need money. I am not locking down a slot for studying when we already have to spend 2 on our hobbies. Some kind of C/D grade is perfectly alright with me, and we are unlikely to score worse than Rakuyama anyway.

I'd rather spend that time working, or talking to BigSis, or walking around the city and looking for random events, good or bad, to shuffle the plot along. Tryin to clear each and every new objective just leads to the old ones being postponed or forgotten.

But iirc the punishment involved the teachers focusing more on us (implied action loss later for forced studying / remedial work) that and possibly we might take a social hit. Remember Rep+ for high grades in Persona :V

I have not played Persona.

Forced studying is fine, and we have enought INT for it anyway. The worst it'd do to us - if we don't get a C and they won't just leave us alone as a mediocre student - is that it'll lock some of our actions... just like studying for tests would. But it will happen later, and probably won't be as demanding as trying to get an A on a test. I am fine with 'later', because I want a phone now or next weekend, and that means 5000 yen now that we aren't building a new one.

Think of the actual consequences and benefits of the results of the exams.

It's going to affect our interpersonal relations and reputation and more likely than not our stats too.

I think locking down in studying is a good goal.

It can't hurt. Worst case scenario is that we overshoot it and then have a lot of free time later in the school year.

I don't think 'locking down' is quite necessary, for those of you who have played Persona remember there are also Study Time Social Linking events as well.

Grinding Skill will probably be in the cards, though. As well as getting that last point of INT.

Time to get that omake box out of the forge!

Quick update:

No, I'm not dead. Feeling pretty close though. Seems like the week just before winter break is the most hectic week of the year. :lol Piano recitals to attend, mandatory Christmas parties, tests and essays and presentations to write up... yeah.

And it doesn't help that I'm shit at time-management. No arguments there.

I feel like I'm responsible for giving you guys something before the week ends, though, so here's a little snippet to prove that I'm not suffering from writer's block or author existence failure or something so dramatic as that!

Article:
Yumika put her hands up disarmingly. "Oh, don't worry don't worry! I'm not judging you - really. I just… wanted to talk to you, and it occured to me that I didn't have your phone number, and Furai-senpai mentioned to Yagami-senpai that he happened to be going over to your house, and… well you know. Now I'm here."

Something about the way she worded herself had a calming effect on him. He smiled. "Thanks, Yumika-san."

"Nooo problem!" Yumika winked. "Err…. anyway… I hope you're feeling well."

"I am!" Silas responded.

"Not feeling… uh… dizzy or anything?" Yumika tilted her head a bit. "Woke up fine this morning?"

"Yeah…" Silas said, not quite understanding. "How do you mean?"

"Oh… just… I've been worried about my club members," Yumika admitted. "Renji-kun and Riku-nee won't return my calls, Harima and Yoshi are busy doing… whatever, and Hana-san is…" she sighed. "She's… alright. It's just… everyone's… all of a sudden really lethargic this week, you know? And Maeda-san is…"

There was a small pause. Yumika started twiddling with a string of her hair. "...Sai-kun, did anyone from the Student Council visit you today? Or the day before?"

Silas shook his head. "No, no one."

"You're sure?" Yumika asked seriously.

"Certain. I… don't get visitors. I'd remember something like that," he replied confidently.

Yumika sighed. She seemed relieved, for some reason. "Okay! I just wanted to know. It's… I gotta keep tabs on my club members, yeah?" her phone buzzed. "Oh speaking of which, I should probably get going. Hana-san needs… uh… help. I'll see you Monday, yeah?"

"Yeah!" Silas responded. She started to make her way down the staircase when he had a thought. "Oh - um… this sounds kind of embarrassing, but could you not tell anyone else from Drama that I live here?"

"Eh? Why not?"

"I…" Silas blushed. "I like my privacy."

"Oh - oh, don't worry, I won't!" Yumika said. "If that's what Sai-kun wants, then I won't tell!"

"I hope I'm not being too childish…" he muttered.

Yumika burst out laughing. "Oh stop it, Sai-kun! You're good! Gotta go now - seeya!" Yumika waved goodbye and sprinted down the balcony.

So, it sounds like Yumika realizes that something's up after the memory wipes. Maybe she remembers some of it, but can't say anything because no one else remembers anything?

Must have happened a few times in the past, for her to make a connection 'a visit from Student Council' -> 'apathetic classmates'.

There are probably witnesses around who, despite not knowing what's up, can add a few details that can later be recognized as a pattern if one pays attention. Which... probably just marks the investigator as a target for amnestics of a stronger brand.
