The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

I think beauty would be a great anam to include. It smooths out anam cycling and removes imperfections. It'd also really suite the pretty jewel we've just got. Either way, whatever we do make we should do some proper research into ideas and get training to ensure we make it the best item we possibly could make. And definitely triple down on the creation.

I don't think we should use Shouxi's tea. First, I'm not sure just one more round of training would get us another phase. Second, well, the Deeps have been compared to Darkest Dungeon in Discord, so getting mental stress before going in? Not the best idea. The Deeps are dangerous, and IMO we should be in peak condition when going in there.

Sitting within the box is a single jewel the size of your fist. It is a red stone the color of a beauty's lips with dark veins of purple running through its body. At its heart is a white star, five lines of golden-white brilliance that burn against your eyes in a way not even the sun managed earlier. When your hand goes near it, it vibrates with a pulse that's not your own, causing sweat to drip down your brow.

We could go for a triple heart build. We got our normal heart, our core choice was heart, then we somehow implant this thing into ourselves as our third. Certainly has the aesthetics of a heart, large red object with veins. Make a sauna of that blood anam tea, saturate the environment we're in, then casually perform open-heart surgery on ourselves. Just go completely ape shit on prep, make a building that's a charm, the operating table is a charm, use our miststeel tools in the operation. Go full mad scientist, maybe beat the shit out of Tiaoyue for some pointers ahead of time. Have the Dance be one of the surgeons. Turn ourselves into part charm. Become a cyborg.

We can mix the Living wood sapling with the Star Gem to make something that continually grows. Maybe a plant that we can cycle with similar to the Fire/Smoke bottle. Or a focusing charm For cultivation that grows stronger over time.
While I'd normally be for this, Ves has explicitly stated in the past that creating natural-treasures is beyond what a soldier-tier crafter can do.

Moratorium is over, sooo-

[X] Plan Awoo
-[X] The only true way to walk your path is to cycle the anam of the world. You will do so. x5
--[X] 3 Stagheart, 4 Woodsman's Respite, 1 Soldier's Requiem (35 Wood, 25 Earth)
---[X] Blooming Spear of the Auroch
--[X] 1 Spider Serum, 1 Choir Note (10 Beast, 5 Sound)
---[X] Warhound's Cry
-[X] You have discovered some talent in the physical arts, but talent is useless if not honed. You will find an empty training field and work on your martial skills. x2
--[X] Raptor's Foot
-[X] You've been tasked with impressing an Elder if you wish to rise to the Eighth Circle. You have recently met Elder Siani, an Elder who seems to handle problems and rare situations around the sect. Elder Siani seems very interested in the Armory Map you fixed, and completing its tasks will likely draw further attention.
--[X] You will seek out the point on the map that lies deep within the caverns, below even the Lost Armory. (Counts as Three Two Actions).

4 actions to integrate BSA, 1 action to level WC, 2 actions into training, 2 actions into the trip. Picked Foot over the talon since I figured movement was most important thing to focus on. No using the tea for an extra action since we want to go into the Deeps at 100%.

How far off are we from the Farmers step tho

"You have already forged a core, and thus taken the Soldier's Step," Auntie Bi begins. "It was no doubt a painful, dangerous process. But as you continue to walk the path unending, you will find that it was but the least of your trials. It was also the only one that can be accomplished in a single moment."

"You will find the Farmer's Step far more challenging."

You go to ask questions, but Auntie Bi continues to talk, cutting you off before you even begin. "When you took the Soldier's Step, you took anam into your body and gave it a home. From your core it gives you strength and allows you to reach beyond the limitations of mortality. But having all of your power consolidated in one place limits the benefits that anam can grant you."

"Taking the Farmer's Step means growing beyond that limitation. In it, you use your core to burrow channels into your flesh and spirit. By doing so, you allow anam easier passage through your body. You grow stronger with each channel carved; faster, wiser, even further beyond what you once thought possible."

"I see…" you mutter. A new question occurs to you as you ponder Auntie Bi's words. "You said that it takes more than a day. When will I be done taking the Farmer's Step?"

"Only you will know for sure," comes the immediate answer.

KZ literally hasn't started taking that step yet, and it takes as long as he (well, we) feel like it should. So, strictly speaking, as far from it as we were the day KZ completed his core.

I kind of want to train our arm because of all the mentions in the update about how annoying it is for KZ to use.

Hmm, would we be able to refine the sapling so that it only consisted of Life Anam? I feel like pure Life Anam would be superior to Life/Wood if we want to use it with the Gem.

We can, it just costs a talent to rent some time at the refiner and we have to roll to prevent drop in quality iirc.
Cool. I feel like this would be a good idea as it would make the Still Growing Sapling less of a literal, physical tree Sapling and more of a metaphysical Sapling. Closer to the idea of "Something That Has Only Begun To Grow" as it were.

Edit: What about turning the Gem into a second Core? Our current core is a thing of the ephemeral and spiritual. Something for our mind and soul. What if we turn the Gem into a Core for our Physical body.

A Core for the Material and a Core for the Immaterial.

We could place in in the right side of our chest opposite our Heart and then Link the Cores using the Farmers Step to carve channels between them.

I think a living mat is different. I don't think you can split it without doing a lot of damage to the mat. Or at least its very very very difficult to do so.

A charm that purges our body of imperfections with stellar fire, advancing our physicality to something closer to perfection.
I have to say I do adore this idea as a charm. Something like this, that could bring us overall benefits in multiple areas, and acting as a permanent bolster and protection, tying into the love of a parent for their child.
