After all divination doesn't appear to be his speciality and a lotta these things are incredibly warp related.
Also which rage inducing upgrade?
Durin told us over a year ago that chaos will get a rage inducing upgrade at the end of these thread or beginning of the next thread.

1. Would the Abomination getting Lin have counted as his?
That would have produced vast amounts of rage and been a power up.
2. Do the Eldar think they have an estimate on how many people would need to be sacrificed to summon the avatar?
3. Similarily given the Avatar's nature you've already said it'd hang around far longer than a normal daemon, but have they estimated how long?
4. What do they think the odds are that Abaddon would summon the Avatar to deal with the void dragon?
Agreed, if it is on the Vengeful Spirit well, Russ has led a boarding action there before.

Maybe, but he'd in all likelyhood have to fight abaddon and that's a fight he will in all probability loose at this stage.
If only we knew multiple Transcendent hero's who could help fight Abbadon. (Sarcasm) we have the ancient, Areatha and of need be we give the sword to Jacob and let him die. It's doable is what I am saying.
Edit also the Eldar have a human paragon naval admiral.

Well Abby spends lots of time on the Planet Killer also according to the Black Legion books. Just launch Operation: Angel Dust when he's off the spirit.

I know realistically just not with Russ.
The AO and Asuraman are probably the only two people who have a chance of stalling/beating him long enough for any investigation to occur into Sanguinius.
Alternatively teleportation.
He can do that.
Or just wait for the two ships to be in different systems. Divine where the Sanguinius statue is that day, grab* and run.
*Not mentioned is the massive amount of Trueborn this would cost.

Hum, if the upgrades would cause rage on us, I wonder if something that raise the number of incursions and/or how many psykers of ours that gets corrupted? but since is Chaos many, many things that they do are BS and Angry inducing.

It'd likely take a lot of power, but hell he's Abaddon, his resources are practically unlimited and chaos can move him a massive distance when he needs too.
And where Sanguinius likely is, isn't an issue. Its entirely possible it was recorded by the Imperials or eldar, it moves from bride to planning room.

A. Weird and likely would have ****ed off on its own were it capable of doing so.
B. Basically inflicts the black rage on anyone who comes too close.

hm.... on the discussion on the chaos gods getting buff's
assuming that this is a partial OOC buff from durin wanting to change the balance of things (and not some IC reason?)
1): Khone is getting his avatar (known)
2): slanash is getting the dark eldar properly integrated, tech andman eldar-power wise as well as any of their high-level artifacts (like the panacea STC?) (I think this is a reasonable guess.)
3): Abomination's "buff" might have to do with his forces no longer being tied up with the C'tan. (not to sure how this would be directly angering to us so I'm not sure about it)
4): Not sure about nurgle, maybe he finnally decides/succeds at kill/eat/mind-control Isha? is that possable? (this would be REALLY angering afterall.)
5): Tzeetch is explictly impossable to guess what he's getting.....I suspect we might NEVER know what his buff is....but I suspect he will turn it on us if its a person/deamon/agent of some kind.

Well the guy is yet to be born, and one of my greatest fear that I have in this quest is that his 'birth' cause a galactic warp storm again.
Because that would allow orc/nids and other stuff time to grown once more.
It would be a weird moment to have to cross the fingers hoping that the chaos empire or the eldar have a way to deal with that.

but I really, really hope I am wrong. anyway I hope the sane factions thought of that, and took preparations. They know IC that the chaos god is not 'born' yet (or the trust do at very last).
I have a really horrible idea. If the Dark Imperium creates its own chaos Astronomican. Essentially allowing chaos forces to travel faster and corrupt navigators who look at it in the warp. I have already been pissed off that chaos forces are 5 time or greater than us but these would really piss me off. No demon summoning or anything involved just chaos gets to go even faster and not waste resources.

There's no way that happens since it helps all of Chaos and that group of mad backstabbers would never let their rivals get a leg up even at the cost of them getting a speed boost since "Why should my rival get faster when I could monopolize the speed boost myself?" type thinking would make the idea dead in the water.
Like maybe Abandon could do it if he really worked for it but why would he care about buffing all of Chaos?
Not Abaddon but all they need is ... oh my god they have a demon primarch who was created to do that.
You mean the Vassals of Abaddon champion of chaos undivided. Also if you read my crazy rant there are a couple of things that would unit chaos, the C'tan and the Necrons.
