By the way, totally serious about giving Jacob the BCS. If the FC succeeds in summoning the second one odds are the it would kill most our of our heroes on it's way to Lin including Rotbart and Ridcully. If we have Jacob as a line of defense as the first hero ready to take the second FC should the first one succeed he'd probably have a really good chance of outright killing it and sparing us the rest of our heroes.

Not only is he our best swordsman that is on par physically with Astartes but if he dies he is actually far more likely to succeed since not only does the BCS do 100 times damage against Daemons but his trait lets him do more damage the more injured he is and if he is killing he gets one final attack that lets him deal 100 times damage. Meaning that combined with the BCS he's killing blow would do 10, 000 times more damage than normal. I'd doubt that even an Exalted Daemon would survive that kind of damage especially caused by a weapon meant to perma kill them.

Not to mention that we may get extremely lucky and he may actually end up surviving. If he does survive he'd probably roll for transcendence. So seems like a win win situation here.

I agree. @huntsman0697 can you give Jacob the BCS?

The fight is super layered, with the 1st Circle already present being able to open that rift in 1 hour, the Ancient One (Saurus elder that is a transcendent combat specced for killing enemy champions) and Areatha (transcendent control psyker, paragon combat, see her stat sheet for more details) will arrive in 2,
Stop me if this is astupid idea, but could we just give the Ancient Ond a lift to get him here faster?

I agree. @huntsman0697 can you give Jacob the BCS?
Should also probably have a bit of him being around where the second FC is expected to pop up so that he is right there ready to fight it in the worse case scenerio. Would likely save quite a bit of heroes and elites since it's been mentioned that a FC rampaging through our walls would likely kill most of our heroes anyway. At least if we do lose someone it could just be Jacob thanks to his traits.

Stop trying to take away Rotbart's only weapon. Gravity Bite in Jacob's hands compares well against the BCS and Rotbart would still be able to defend himself.

Buying Time
Buying Time
It is done. The first Circle and his Host alights upon the surface of Avernus, along with his assembled host. He spends three seconds glancing around, his immense sorcerers senses cataloging his foe, and reviewing his God's plan. Then two dozen Magma Worms appear. Hidden until the last moment by the power of the Planet mind, they strike the gathered elite. They last a mere ten seconds, but take one of the Precious Beowulf-class Angyl Titans with them.

A Descent class destroyer reaches optimum range haven taken advantage of the original First Circle's distraction to reach engagement range. Its guns ring out for another five long seconds, before the Archangyl casts out his powers, tearing through the feeble wards and dominating the minds of the crew, as the plan dictates. Then he pauses infinitesimally in confusion, before the Descent's plasma reactor detonates as the blank, trapped up in orbit by circumstance until now, fulfills his duty. A searing blast rings out, scorching all beyond the protection of a void shield. This takes another Five seconds.

The guns of Dis ring out, sending a massive barrage towards the Angyls, as every single weapon in range opens up, and Deathstrikes roar as they deliver their deadly payloads. A mere Seven seconds later, the First Circle strides out of the resulting inferno, still utterly untouched.

30 Seconds have passed. 3570 remain until the arrival of The Ancient One and his protege.

@Durin A short one this time.

As has been pointed out an Exalted is literally a minor god that would be extremely likely to kill most of our heroes and it's coming with the aboms most elite soldiers. And no, Gravity Bite isn't as good against daemons since the BCS does 100 times damage against daemons. If Rotbarts safety is such an issue how about instead have a write in where we have high level heroes like Jane and Xavier bodyguard him until we can get the sword back?

We can also raise Rotbart to priority 6 and just shove him in the Vault.

Think that would be a step too far and we do need him to guide the armies since he has the highest martial. Besides that Jane and Xavier along with Mittens means we have 3 combat paragons guarding Rotbart with two being psykers.
He gives a martial bonus to the local area (Dis) regardless of where he is. After all, Lin also gives that bonus despite being in the Vault.

Are there any other forces whose priority we could shift? How about changing the priority of the Militia and Primaris Psykers to 2?

He gives a martial bonus to the local area (Dis) regardless of where he is. After all, Lin also gives that bonus despite being in the Vault.
Lin gives a bonus because his Aura is all over the planet. If we put Rotbart in the Vault we lose him coordinating our forces which is a major requirement. The Vault is cut off from everything we can't lead our forces from it.

Stop trying to take away Rotbart's only weapon. Gravity Bite in Jacob's hands compares well against the BCS and Rotbart would still be able to defend himself.
Also Rotbart wouldn't be defenseless. He'd obviously be given a different weapon. In fact he could just use Gravity Bite which is also a relic level weapon. And yes I checked, nothing is stopping Rotbart from using it and we already have most of our heroes using relics from previous heroes anyway.

A Race Against Time
A Race Against Time
An Angel flies through the warp upon wings of gleaming white. His face a mask, one set in a determined countenance. Five times Five times Five times Five Malachim stand in his way, their unnaturally stiff countenance inviolate against his oncoming might.

Brother.

He scatters them, slaying five times five times five as he bulls his way through without a second though. Their efforts barely inconveniencing the angel's might. Five times Five times five Cherubim stride out of the warp, the soldiers of the abomination marching as one to face the second greatest heretic their god shall fight this day.

I know I have no right to ask, but we could really use your help.

Once more, they are scattered, five times five Cherubim falling to the exemplar of the 9th legion mowing them down like wheat. Five times Five Seraphim fly to engage him upon golden wings: the Heralds of the Abomination standing fast against the one that dares to rebuke their father by his very existence.

The Saint, the last Saint seeks to bring back our uncle, the lord of Ultramar from his millienia long slumber. The abomination seeks to end him.

The Angel flies onwards, slaying five heralds of the abomination with his gleaming blade, drawing ever closer to his goal. Five archangyls of the fifth circle intercept the Voice of the Great Angel. The least of the greater Deamons willing to give their lives to delay the one who their god hates so.

He... Lin... was meditating this very morning to understand our father, to help us his sons.

This time, the Angel does not force his way through a weakness in their lines. Instead, he charges forth against a knot of three, engaging them with the skill that once put the Exalted Ka'Bandha to flight. He slays them, receiving a single scratch in return, and flies onwards.

So please... please, protect him.

The Abomination rages, as the ritual he prepared to deal with this most vexing of foes is disrupted, his plans in ruins.

Show mankind that there are still true Angels in this ever darkening galaxy.

"Don't worry brother." The Angel says. "I'm coming."

End of the Line
End of the Line
This was the end, the final push, and they all knew it. Soon, they would be called out to serve on the battlefield. Some, perhaps all, of them would fall in the line of fire, but this was their duty, and each and every one of them would gladly lay down their lives for their home and saint.

But for now, they had a moment of peace, a brief respite from the chaos outside. Their commanding officer had come in as they sat around the makeshift table and informed them of the recuperation time granted to them. And so, with an hour until deployment and with nothing else to do, the troopers shared their hopes and worries with one another.

It had come slowly at first, the odd comment and stray remark thrown out into the air, but soon all of them were confiding in each other.

Lukas, born and raised in Dis, was eager to protect his saint and willing to die for it.

Rory, pulled in from Lemnos, knew it was foolish of him but nonetheless hoped that his sister Celia and the children had gotten out of Helm's Deep in time. The toy he'd picked out for little Evan's fifth birthday was still in the cellar back home.

Hayden of Avalon wanted to live through this and see his beloved Vanessa again. They were going to be so happy together.

Amelia was going to prove her parents wrong about her lack of potential as a soldier.

Gilbert was so bereft by the death of his twin earlier in the siege that he would do anything, absolutely anything, to make those damned angyls pay.

Daisy hoped the Emperor was looking out for them from beyond.

Oscar was nervous and wondered if the Governor had ever felt doubt too. Frank had patted him on the shoulder and regaled him with his old Granny's stories of Avernus's first years.

The time flew as they exchanged their stories, and soon their officer called for them to prepare themselves. The squad picked up their weapons and stood in formation. The officer nodded and directed them to the front lines, to face off against the daemons besieging Dis.

The golden legions are numerous beyond count, but they do not falter. They know who they are and what they came to do. The commands to submit and obey whispered in the back of their minds hold no temptation for them.

The battlecry is old, ancient beyond most reckonings. The enemy has tried to claim it for their own, convinced in their delusions that they follow it with every fiber of their being. There are many other oaths that could've been used, oaths that promised to defend their saint, their governor, their world. Yet it is only fitting, only proper, that this one be chosen, to better remember the truth behind their cause.

"FOR THE EMPEROR!"

Fun facts about some of these people: Amelia's parents were Administratum adepts, and they expected her to follow in their footsteps. But instead of like some of our past characters, Amelia refused and instead went into the military, to their disapproval.

Rory's wife is in the navy, and he also has a stepdaughter named Olivia from his wife's first marriage to a man from Vanaheim. Both of them are in space right now, to his relief.

Frank's Granny, surprisingly, is still alive. And yes, she was one of the original colonists.

-[X] Anglic Elites: Give ground- By taking advantage of Dis' countless layers of defences you should be able to use lesser troops to slow Angyls, though you will not be able to stop them
-[X] Outside Battle: Field Battle- The natives of Avernus will be fighting a massive battle against the Angyls just outside the walls of Dis, by deploying the majority of your reserves you may be able to quickly break the back of the besiegers, though at a high cost.

-[X] (1) 1st Circle Archangyl: Engage- By massing Avernus' greatest available psykers and warriors, including the ancient Threnody Dragon Parathunisxaris, you should be able to stop, and maybe even kill the 1st Circle Archangyl. This is certain to result in the loss of many of your heroes and will weaken your other forces considerably, but should be able to stop the progress of the greatest threat to Saint Lin's life

anyone else want me to give jacob the BCS kind of reluctant to further strip rotbarts defence away since we already gave the rest of the set to areatha.
I say go for it. Rotbart wouldn't be anywhere near defenseless as people think. Yes the BCJs do increase the odds of survival in certain situations but that's it- It increases survival, it doesn't guarantee it.

And Rotbarts odds of surviving seem pretty low if the FCs do breach the walls anyway considering that it's a freaking minor god leading the best elites the abom can field and one of them would be fresh from the start and we do have confirmation that it would likely call most of our heroes anyway.

Or to put it another way-
************************
Rotbarts odds of survival with BCS if he faces off against FC and the best elites: 40%

Rotbarts odds of survival if Jacob manages to kill the second FC himself early on with BCS: 80%
************************

I know that's likely wrong but that is pretty much the best way to put it that people can finally get without infographs.
