I present three possibilities for why Ahra may have done it the way he did:

1. In the warp, Power = Price (well, close) so maybe Ahra was using (perhaps even NEEDED) the whole demon incursion to power his ritual. Like hooking up your electric grid to a windmill. Or lightning rod.

2. Fate twisted itself around him so that Ahra HAD to do it with 888 pieces. Maybe Khorne pulled a favor on Tzeentch, maybe he bothered to do it himself, maybe the sheer MAGNITUDE of LIKE-TO-LIKE that is Khaine to Khorne prevented this from ever NOT happening.

3. Ahra didn't realize that the Chaos gods cheat in base 10. " THIS IS NOT A MULTIPLICATIVE OF 8, YOU CHEATING RIP-OFF!!!"

3.5 Ahra doesn't even USE base 10, so he had a completely different number in his head.

3194

that...actually is a good point....

he looked at it from the wrong base.....

oh boy, how many OTHER numbers are there that indirectly impower the gods in different bases?

not every species uses base 10 after all so even if base 10 is the main one.....

@Durin, could the Phoenix Avatars or some other eldar go back in time to stop Ahrha from fucking up? Maybe with the help of the necrons? (Orikan, for example, and Lin can help them work together. And I'm thinking the Phoenix Avatars' fate powers would clear up any time travel paradox badness thingies.)

At some point if you're this stupid you should die from it before you get this strong.
He probably has many times its just not permanent. Phoenix Lord and all.

I can say from the notes Durin gave me that Arha merged with the Warshard of Khaine to become The Murderer, so that should clear things up some.
Well he was always the embodiment of Khaine's dickishness.

Hopefully we can either kill him, or get some use out of him.

Just to clarify did the others merge with a shard of khaine too at some point?

@Durin
1 how many shards of Khaine are left
2 these the end of Khaine?
3 can the last Shard be used to restore Khaine?

@Shard there are 12 Phoenix lords and one Shard.
1. 1
2. mostly
3. no

no messing with time around events of this scale, especially ones so tied to the warp is really unpredictable and usually leaves things worse off

1. it is closer to say that they are his children then him
@Durin
1. I take it with the exception of Ahrah the children do like their papa.
2. Given Lin's track record with finding out stuff other people usually miss would one consent to letting him examine them, to see if he can figure out something that could increase their power even higher?

It was pure fortune they had seen the battle at all,
I was unaware that Ridcully had adopted 'Pure Fortune' as a title.

And then the Murderer leaves, his tattered host of Incubi with him. And spent as they are, none can attempt pursuit.
o_O How the heck is the guy who fought for eight days in better condition than the eleven guys who fought for one? Why did they let him walk away rather than killing the blithering moron immediately?

Paragon Intrigue Trait: A Face in Any Crowd (can infiltrate without information without penalty, can disguise self as a non-specific member of an humanoid race without chance of failure unless pretending to be an active psyker, +200 to disguise)
2. Has Ridcully's appearance in the warp changed much, if at all? (Particularly from Isha's blessing, does he have flowers decorating his hair or somesuch now?)
2. a few flowers in his hair
@Durin, Vlad is very very good at disguise. Could he rub the pollen of Ridcully's beard flowers on himself (or do something else with them) to make it look like he had Isha's blessing as part of an attempt to disguise himself as Ridcully? The idea here is that he makes himself look like Ridcully, Nurgle will see him and chuck a daemonic incursion at him, and at the same time the real Ridcully goes with the eldar on the Isha rescue mission. It'd be like the Lord of the Rings, except instead of Aragorn attracting Sauron's attention away from the hobbits, it'd be Vlad attracting Nurgle's attention away from the eldar and Ridcully.

He basically flew in at the last moment and tipped the scales a bit instead of fighting against an ungodly huge army of Daemons for like a day including against some of Khorne's biggest names. Compared to the other eleven, who by then had been getting pounded by the Avatar of Khorne, Arha the Murderer was basically 100% fresh.
