Currently the Imperial Trust is in the process of deploying over half of its total fleet to the other side of Amir-ka in order to oppose the Tyranids. This is also six months of travel away even for the ships equipped with your most advanced technology, and almost three times that for the majority of your forces. As such you are using the Muspelheim Forward Base's to set up supply dumps in some of the systems in the region that you have found allies. Soon you will be moving out to command one of the Battlefleets that will be tasked with burning the Chaotic and Orkish worlds in the Tyranids line of advance to deny them the majority of the biomass. On other news it seems that Waaaagh Bloodbusta seems to be moving towards The More'lumix's Realm, passing though the region once held by Turoq. Given that The More'lumix's Realm is probably the weakest of the major Chaotic Powers in the region you suspect that Bloodbusta will end up winning unless the other chaos powers provide a lot of support.

Currently the Imperial Trust is deploying a large force on the human worlds about to be attack by Hive Fleet Grábakr. While this force does include several billion elites, many of whom are Avernite, the elites are entirely drawn from the Imperial Trust Guard. As such for the moment General Richards will be able to focus entirely on building up her forces rather then needing to divert her attention by deploying them.

An Even Split-After comparing Pulse Rifles and Volkite Calivers you found that there are benefits and disadvantages to equipping your Helltroopers with each. You could equip half of your Helltrooper Regiments with Volkite Calivers and half with Pulse Rifles, allowing the Helltroopers to be fielded against heavily armoured targets and hordes equally.

Djinn Skein Gladiatoria: Military- Djinn Skein Gladiatoria can be used to help prepare your forces for conflict with conventional foes and for large scale battles. As such it would be a good idea to supply all of your boot camps and military bases with some, so that it can be worked into your standard training regime. While this will be expensive an increase in your troops combat power is more then worth the price.

Personal Attention: Thunder Warriors: Laying the Path- Now that you know how to create Thunder Warriors General Richards would like to create a regiment, mostly in order determine the best way to train Thunder Warriors. This would take almost two decades and give you ten thousand deadly, but inexperienced soldiers. While by itself not worth the time and effort that this project would require it would lay the path for future Thunder Warriors, including Psyker Hunting ones. Given that the best use of Thunder Warriors seems to be as quickly produced elites in desperate times it would be best to prepare for them well in advance.

On the other hand it will be incredibly expensive, even by your standards.

Admiral Sarnow tells you that his fleet is now ready to be deployed, and that while he can lead it himself it would probably work better if you led the Avernite contribution for the initial battles. He would prefer to focus on building up your fleet for a bit longer.

Meticulous (+3M, +4I, +4A, +3L) to Highly Meticulous (+4M, +5I, +5A, +4L, -1D)-Admiral Sarnow is always oncredibly meticulous in all of his actions, carefully ensuring that even minor details are as well done as possible, and then double and even triple checking. This leads to him creating plans that both cover for all possibilities and are as close to flawless as he can manage but also cause some social issues.

Expand Shipyards: Small- Now that you have a huge shipyard it is possible to build five small shipyards at a time. Admiral Parnell would prefer to finish all of your planned large shipyards before building up your small shipyards.

Time: 10 years. (can be taken twice)

Cost: 1,500,000,000 Thrones, 220,000,000 Material, 110,000,000 Metal, 220,000,000 Promethium, 41,000 Advanced Material, 1,900 Exotic Material.

Further Thicken Minefield: Deiphobe- One option to expand the defences of Deiphobe is to quadruple the density of the minefield. This would quadruple the damage that the mines inflict, making the minefield likely to destroy most cruisers that try to advance though it and inflict major damage on even Battleships. This would be a time consuming and expensive option, but would make attacking though the minefield near impossible for most fleets.

These landholds would most likely be Thundabeast Pens, allowing you to build up the number of Thundabeast Riders you can field, as well as maintain your soon to be veteran Knights.

The Adeptus Mechancius is now starting to supply Dragon's Nest with many of its lesser technological secrets, though only as they are needed. As well as overseeing this critical technological gift Fabricator-General Scott is continuing to work on building up her forces in the Helheim system. Currently the population of the Moons of Cumea is now greater then that of Avernus and they are the industrial heart of the system, though they only produce a small fraction of the combat power of the Avernite Helltroopers. Fabricator-General Scott plans to increase this disparity, so that that Adeptus Mechanicus can produce ever more deadly armaments to equip the elite forces of Avernus with.

Archmagos Biologis Maximal gains trait Alert (+1I, +10 to all chance to detect) – Archmagos Biologis Maximal is constantly alert to danger of all types, a trait developed though centuries of life on Avernus in one of the more dangerous professions.

Saint Lin continues to further his studies into the deepest secrets of the Warp, though he is not neglecting his psychical training. He recent discovery of the Primal Warp, which is seemingly incompatible with Chaos is interesting, though he can offer little insight into how to make use of it.

Saint Lin gains trait Knowledge is Power (+4M, +6C, +1 to all stats, can add learning bonus to combat rolls)- There is an saying rumoured to date back to before humanity left Terra that 'Knoledge is Power'. Saint Lin is in many ways an example of this, making use of his extensive studies to inform his choice in battle, both as a commander and as a warrior.
Train Grandmaster Witch Hunters- Around two hundred of Saint Lin's Witch Hunters are skilled and experienced enough that he could train them into being Grandmaster Witch Hunters. These Witch Hunters would be armed to a level similar to that of the heroes of Avernus and have the skills to make proper use of their wargear. Jane tells you that the addition of Grandmaster Witch Hunters to her ranks should result in a notable decrease in the amount of damage that the more powerful Psykers cause to Avernus.

Cost: 4,000,000 Thrones
Reward: +2% chance of success for conversion, can be taken multiple times

Those in the Shadows- With the collapse of the Astronomican the psykers have by far the hardest time maintaining their faith. They are constantly tempted by countless daemons with only their own will and training to keep them at bay. Saint Lin has offered to spend time with those Psykers approaching the trials in order to fortify their will and prepare them for the challenges to come.

Time: 1 year

The Adeptus Astra Telepathica once more finds itself in the position where there is to much to do and too little time. As well as existing projects they will now need to build yet another Psyker City to train new Psykers, and look into designing a larger city, and deploy to help the war with Hive Fleet Grábakr. It looks like a lot of your research is going to have to be delayed even more.
Two Locked Choose Two
Two Five years
Cheating- Recently Archmagos Explorator Tranth and Headmaster Ridcully have come up with the idea to use Headmaster Ridcully's postcognition to discover more about The Well of Urd and the technologies that make it up. This should be very effective and will hopefully be enough to allow Archmagos Explorator Tranth to learn how to use technologies otherwise incomprehensible.

Time: 1 year. (must be taken by Headmaster Ridcully, Archmagos Explorator Tranth must have taken an Examine or decoding action this year)
Chance of Success: 30%

Cost: Free
Reward: Adeptus Astra Telepathica learns master level skills of Alkahestry, unlocks Alkahestry creation and Royal Alkahestry

Locked- Nine out of Fourteen years completed

Anti-Ork Powers: Grand Techbane- Now that he has created an anti Ork Power Xavier thinks that it is possible to upscale it so that it can be used by entire Choirs of Psykers. While it would take a good bit of research to create this power would allow your Demonology Choirs to cause malfunctions to entire Orkish armies, or even disable Gargents.

Time: 7 years
Chance of Success: -50% (uses learning)

Cost: 180,000,000 Thrones, 1,800,000 Material, 4,200 Advanced Material, 480 Exotic Material.

Research: Tyranid Frequencies- With the coming waking of Hive Fleet Grábakr it would be a good idea to lean more about the Tyranid powers and how to counter them. The first step in this road would be to determine this psychic frequencies that make up the Shadow in the Warp, after which you can try to create counter frequencies. Tamia estimates that it will take around six years for her or Ridcully to determine the main frequencies of Shadow in the Warp, and that this will have to be done near the front lines where they can better examine the Shadow in the Warp.

Time: 6 years (must be taken by Ridcully or Tamia)

Cost: 39,000,000 Thrones, 390,000 Material, 850 Advanced Material, 95 Exotic Material.

Law of Attraction-High Grandmaster Ridcully recently discovered was seems to be three Laws that underpin the Warp. The first of these Laws is the Law of Attraction, which can be summed up as like calls to like. This is what causes primal gods to arise and is the basis for some forms of divination, and for curses such as the one afflicting the Blood Angels. With more study High Grandmaster Ridcully may be able to determine more about this Law, possibly including how to take advantage of it.

Time: 6 years (must be taken by Ridcully)
Chance of Success: -10% (uses learning)

Cost: 39,000,000 Thrones, 390,000 Material, 850 Advanced Material, 95 Exotic Material.

Law of Cost- High Grandmaster Ridcully recently discovered was seems to be three Laws that underpin the Warp. The second of these Laws is the Law of Cost, which can be summed up as nothing involving the Warp is free, and if you think it is there is a price you can not see. He tells you that this applies to everyone, from the weakest of Psykers to the Great Gods. The price can range from the energy it takes to wield the Warp to your soul itself. With more study High Grandmaster Ridcully may be able to determine more about this Law, possibly including how to take advantage of it.

Law of of Narrative-High Grandmaster Ridcully recently discovered was seems to be three Laws that underpin the Warp. The second of these Laws is the Law of Narrative which has several effects, all of which result in making things more likely to happen as they would in a story. These effects leak into the Materium as well and are so pervasive that they are hard to see. This seems to bend the fate of great heroes, allowing them victory after victory until they fall in a heroic last stand or meet someone with a greater story behind them, as well as many other effects that are so commonplace that they are just how the world works.

Primal Warp- Recently Saint Lin discovered the existence of the Primal Warp, a layer of the Warp created by the souls of plants and animals. This layer is utterly incompatible with Chaos and is possible to draw on for Psykers. As such it is a subject of great interest for the Telepathica, who are fascinated by its potential as a comparatively safe source for their powers to draw on. The first step in accessing the Primal Warp wold be finding it, a task that only High Grandmaster Ridcully has a real chance of.

Time: 5 years (must be taken by Ridcully)
Chance of Success: -100% (uses control, gets divination bonuses)

Cost: 39,000,000 Thrones, 390,000 Material, 850 Advanced Material, 95 Exotic Material.
Reward: Find Primal Warp

Large Psyker City: Design- Tamia believes that your knowledge of wards has improved to the point where designing a larger psyker city is possible. The proposal that she has put forward is to create city able to house ten million citizens, including two million Psykers. This would be large enough to train your entire current crop of students in a single location, and would be far more resistant to attack then your current psyker cities.

Time: 18 years.

Cost: 300,000,000 Thrones, 9,600,000 Material, 8,000,000 Metal, 1,900,000 Promethium, 7,200,000 Advanced Material, 20,000 Exotic Material, 96 Relic Material.

Reward: find one Warp Echo

Research: Conceptional Bonding: First Stage- Recently it has been found that Truesteel works by somehow permanently bonding the concept of steel to metal. Given that conceptional bonding is considered to be highly unstable and requires constant attention from a skilled Psyker to maintain, the fact that a stable form of it exists is highly interesting, among other reasons because it was believed to be impossible. Tamia thinks that if she spends a decade or so studying Truesteel she will learn more about how it works; not nearly enough to replicate the feat but still enough to be of great use. She mentions that among other uses any more information on this subject may be useful in working out how to copy the power that Island Turtles use, which would be invaluable.

Time: 12 years
Chance of Success: 25% (uses learning)

Cost: 39,000,000 Thrones, 390,000 Material, 850 Advanced Material, 95 Exotic Material.
Reward: Information on Conceptional Bonding

Examine: (Siren Rune)- The Sirens have recently traded knowledge of how to make several forms of Runes in exchange for the souls of chaos cultists. Tamia would like to spend a few years examining each in order to both determine what it does and to ensure that it is safe. This will also determine exactly how you can use the rune, including whether you can form wards of it or inscribe it on weapons.

Time: 3 years (must be taken by Tamia)
Chance of Success: 80% (uses learning)

Cost: 39,000,000 Thrones, 390,000 Material, 850 Advanced Material, 95 Exotic Material.
Reward: Determine the effects of the selected Rune and if it is safe

Psychic Materials: Wildlife- There are some materials that channel psychic energies better than others, or in certain ways. Given the sheer variety of psychic wildlife of differing sorts on Avernus, Grandmaster Jameson believes that at least some of them will be useful in this manner. She will only be able to examine a single type of creature at a time, so it will take quite some time to examine everything that Avernus has to offer.

Reward: Determine if any part of selected species is useful as a psychic conductor.

Research: Black Crystal Items (Item)- Last year Headmaster Ridcully determined that each of the items of Black Crystal has its own unique property, though he was not able to determine what they are. Reward: More information on Black Crystal Item selected

Research (Species that has completed Biologis research) – Many of the more interesting creatures of Avernus use psychic powers in some manner and while Archmagos Biologis Maximal has discovered as much about them as he can, there is still more to learn. Time: 10 years
Chance of Success: 20% (uses average of learning and control)

Cost: 38,000,000 Thrones, 740,000 Advanced Material, 84,000 Exotic Material, 20 Relic Material.

Reward: Training-focused Minor Psyker City in the selected region, can fit up to 250,000 Psykers.

Psychic Cleansing- Saint Lin has volunteered to undertake the cleansing of the recently captured worlds in Valinor. While your normal psykers could not pull this feat off by themselves, both pyromancers and daemonologists would be able to assist him in his efforts, reducing the amount of time he must spend on this project.

Time: 1 year (must start at same time as Cleanse World, can't be taken by Ridcully)
Chance of Success: 20% (uses average of power and control with Pyromancy and Demonology Bonus)

Cost: 4,000,000 Thrones, 400,000 Material, 4,250 Advanced Materials
Reward: +10 to success chance of Cleanse World

Mentoring: Alpha- Given the high rate of failure for the more powerful psykers High Grandmaster Ridcully would like to have some of his best psykers mentor the second Alpha-level in the years leading up to her trials. For example an Order of Healers would have the speciality of Healing and focus on devolving your knowledge of Physic Healing and teaching your Healers while an Order of Daemon Hunters would have the purpose of combating Daemons and would recruit those with the will and talent to combat Daemons.

Time: 6 years

Cost: 200,000,000 Thrones, 2,000,000 Material, 4,150 Advanced Material, 415 Exotic Material.

Reward: +5 to all Battle Psyker Rolls for the next decade

Honing an Edge- You live in an galaxy of war so it might be a good idea for the heroic Psykers of Avernus to focus on preparing themselves. While normally the time just before a war is not a good time for a military force's leadership to spend a year meditating and training themselves, when the leader is as powerful a weapon as a heroic psyker it becomes a good option.

Time: 1 year

That applys if he was an adult the more we and his parents spend time with him the higher his stats will go while he is still underage.
quick! while hes young lets see if we can infect him with our LITTEARLY SUPER HUMAN martial!

(if you go back to early posts, durin admits that when he saw rotbart roll 4 crit-6s on his martial (he rolls 4 d6 for each trait and picks best 3) he decided to roll a extra one for the heck of it and got ANOTHER 6.....so he let rotbart keep his base 24 martial......he was functionally BORN with martial good enough to be a general.

Saint Lin gains trait Knowledge is Power (+4M, +6C, +1 to all stats, can add learning bonus to combat rolls)- There is an saying rumoured to date back to before humanity left Terra that 'Knoledge is Power'. YES +1 piety!

Yay, new Lin trait! Well, it's only +1L for the risky Primordial Sea action, but still better than nothing.

@Durin
1. What's the latest we can start building a new Psyker City before we incur penalties?

I am really excited about the new options to research the laws of the warp.

Not that we really have the free time to have Ridcully look into it.

I am also pretty interested in Ridcully's potential research into the Primal Warp. Though it has a chance of success lower than Lin's primordial sea.

oh look, 4 new actions that ONLY rid's can do....man durin really likes hurting us in the action-eco....at least they are not lin-only actions.

Rosalinda upgrades trait Expert Architect (+2L, +3A, +1D, -15% building price) into Master Architect (+3L, +4A, +2D, -25% building price)- Rosalinda Orlov is an incredibly experienced and gifted architect, whose ability to consistently complete project on time and under budget has been repeatably demonstrated.

That's an amazing trait, I am hoping someday it might cut off buildings upkeep.

Btw, would it be possible to have Rotbart do a military review? Use that high military score to try and get rid of any inefficient stuff that got into the Avernus military over time, considering the numbers of time we changed the training regimens and the operational procedure I wouldn't be surprised if there is actually a surprising amount of it.

why is the +1L only to primal sea reserach? it says to COMBAT rolls....

???

Well, I think I can see the Diplomacy actions for the next turn

Ask for help with the Primordial sea
Y1 Arethea
Y2 The Eldar
Y3 The people of Avernus
Y4 The inquisition

Did I miss anyone?

So, what is Rids supposed to do, besides divine the Norn Queen corpse so that other people can start cutting it apart when he's done?

-snip tag-
1. Is it worth considering deploying Saint Lin for anti-infiltrator actions? Given the Aura of Truth.

Never mind, I bet we have lie detectors, it's probably not that useful.

I was just thinking about Saint Lin's new trait. And frankly, I think it is hilarious that despite literally being on life support he is taking the time to get jacked and is only two points from paragon combat.

Had he not been losing combat due to his soul power he would already be in the mid paragon range of combat.

Archmagos Biologis Maximal gains trait Alert (+1I, +10 to all chance to detect) – Archmagos Biologis Maximal is constantly alert to danger of all types, a trait developed though centuries of life on Avernus in one of the more dangerous professions.
The irony of this trait emerging after HWWO dropped off the Norn Queen into one of Maximal's facilities amuses me.

@Durin
1. If we take Deploy Fleet as a Personal Attention, does it take up more than one Personal action slot? It doesn't say so, so I want to be sure.

EDIT - Nevermind, you've got it there locked in already. It's just not bolded so I didn't notice initially.

you know.....we might be the ONLY planet in the galaxy that has a decent chance at researching the primal sea and at possably the last moment rational minds can exist in it.

(1): Even for Lin, a paragon and saint of rational and sane thought, has a incredably low chance of succeding considering all of his traits that are litterally burning his soul out as a cost. (yes its predicted to be about a coin flip.....at least before the new trait anyway)...how many paragons of piety exist in this galaxy exactly? not many, and the few that do exist might not all be specced out for warp-research.
(2): if someone researching it fails, we have no idea how horrendous it could be....it might even somehow spawn a super- warp rift to the primal sea itself, spawning super-deamons that eat NORMAL deamons for breakfast. . so its a good thing that if anyoen has the ablity to stop that from happening, it would be the old one's....and this planet is quite possably the last source of their tech with a PM to pilot it.
(3): Lin will die very soon.

Don't forget since Syr has the Tainted Bloodline trait, and the amount of Psykers produced by Avernus has increased, there is a very real possibility that Tormod might be a Psyker, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is an Alpha.

so, took a look through looking for actions that stick out.

Nightingale Brigade- The Nightingale Stealth Bomber is best deployed in small groups to take out specific targets. As such You will not need a large number to have a significant impact on the course of a war, and in fact to many would be counterproductive. A single division of Nightingales would be enough to provide as many as you are liekly to need in the short to medium term.

Time: 9 years

Cost: 170,000,000 Thrones, 1,100,000 Material, 11,000 Promethium, 6,500,000 Advanced Material, 200,000 Exotic Material .
Upkeep per year: -300,000 Thrones, -1,900 Material, -95 Promethium, -2,900 Advanced Material, -30 Exotic Material.
Reward: Build 100 Nightingale Wings (1 Brigade)

ok, so this reads like is would be perfect for pinpoint elimination of synapse creatures. so we might want them rolled out before the nids show up.

Implement (Technology): Planning- General Schwarz has already implemented the most important technologies found in the datacores but there are still many types that remain unused. He could spend a few years deciding how to best use a selected technology.

Time: 2 years

Cost: 39,000,000 Thrones, 7,800,000 Material, 790,000 Promethium, 85,000 Advanced Material, 95 Exotic Material.
Reward: Plan on how to implement chosen technology

harvesters, the heavy anti light hovertank, and orndati the customizable super guns seem like they would be worth doing. Both are going to be good against nids.

Ship Design Investigation (Ship)- While you gained many ancient ship designs from the Sword of Sutur datacores there are still many holes in the line of battle for the Imperial Trust. Admiral Sarnow could spend a year determining if a particular design would work. If it is determined that a design is possible it will then have to be passed on to the Adeptus Mechanicus to actually make the design.

Time: varies (1 yr for escorts, 2 years for cruisers, 3 years for battleships, 4 years for Command Battleships, 5 years for Dreadnoughts)
Chance of Success: 60% (uses learning)

we need to make a ship that mounts the psychic cannon. either a BC or GC in my opinion.

Nynye Poisonmaking- The Nynye have agreed to use their skills to create a carefully tailored poison aimed at Hive Fleet Grábakr. To do this they will need the body of the Norn Queen that He Who Walks Obliquely recently provided you with. This can be done while Archmagos Biologis Maximal is still examining the Norn Queen but will prevent the body from being used as a focus by High Grandmaster Ridcully.

Time: 1 year

Cost: Free
Reward: Work begins on creating Tailored Poison

haha get fucked nids. I don't think we would get that much out of using it as a scrying focus.

Train Grandmaster Psyker Hunters- Around five hundred of Jane's Psyker Hunters, are skilled and experienced enough that she could train them into being Grandmaster Psyker Hunters. These Psyker Hunters would be armed to a level similar to that of the hero of Avernus and have the skills to make proper use of their wargear. Jane tells you that the addition of Grandmaster Psyker Hunters to her ranks should result in a notable decrease in the amount of damage that the more powerful Psykers cause to Avernus.

Time: 12 years

Cost: 190,000,000 Thrones,760,000 Material, 46,000 Promethium, 7,900,000 Advanced Material, 110,000 Exotic Material, 4 Relic Material.
Upkeep per year:14,000,000 Thrones, 120,000 Material, 23,000 Promethium, 2,200,000 Advanced Material, 6,300 Exotic material, 2 Relic Material
Reward: train 500 Grandmaster Psyker Hunters, start training more Grandmaster Psyker Hunters, +5 to dealing with Chaos Psykers and an addition +5 to dealing with Gamma-level and above.

+10 to deal with the psykers that keep messing us up sounds great.

Norn Queen- Recently the Border-Lion He Who Walks Obliquely delived the body of a Norn Queen to Archmagos Biologis Maximal. Archmagos Maximal believes that he can learn a massive amount about Hive Fleet Grábakr by studying this body, knowledge that could prove invaluable in the war to come.

Time: 10 years
Chance of Success: -50% (72% after bonuses)

Cost: 390,000,000 Thrones, 78,000,000 Material, 7,900,000 Promethium, 850,000 Advanced Material, 950 Exotic Material.
Reward: Information about Hive Fleet Grábakr, more options

Haha! get double fucked nids. we should do this Asap.

Complete Examination (Species) - There are many different unusual species on Avernus and Magos Biologis Saren wishes to examine all of them. However, he is willing to let you choose what he examines next. In general Magos Biologis Saren has spent half a dozen or more years in a row studying each species.

Time: 6 years.
Chance of Success: unknown.

there was a species of dolphin that fucks with hive minds, we might want to do that soonish as well. because it will likely need its power researched.

Vortex Stockpile- With the approaching Hive Fleet it may be a good time to create a stockpile of vortex munitions for your fleet. Vortex Torpedoes, Shells and Bomb are some of the most powerful naval weapons that you know of and may be key to any victory.

Time: 3 years (can be taken multiple times)

Cost: 4,000,000,000 Thrones, 7,800,000 Advanced material, 880,000 Exotic Material, 98 Relic Material
Reward: Create 3,000 units of Vortex Munitions (Torpedo 0.5 damage, shell=damage, Bomb =30)

the big immediately useful option that jumped out at me. Though we don't have to take it right away.

Chance of Success: 5% (uses learning, no Roke Island bonus)

this will likely dovetail with the dolphins, also it might let us use our psykers against the nids, which would be big.

so that's the immediately useful stuff that jumped out at me. Though most of it we don't have to take in a hurry, but the nid research will likely be step one of a chain, so that we should start ASAP.

why would he be a alpha exactly....???

BTW: I noted that we had like 2 dozen actions going on this turn....and not a single one of them actually finished this turn.......what a let down
