That's not quite the same as a highly mechanised techpriest.

Are we taking a blood dragons rep to the conference? Even an observer position would be a big diplomatic boon to them.

One reason gods might not be able to wield the BCS is because the godslaying nature of it is too inherently hostile to them, rather than there being any specifically designed protections.

You know, sorta like how Jane's style of swordsmanship is inherently bad for psykers to use because the fundamental intent behind it is so anti-psyker.

That said, I imagine that the planet would incorporate protections like that if they weren't there naturally.

1. Amusing question, but how would you rank our chances if we sent every Paragon of combat hero we have after Abaddon? That is Jane and Jacob, Mineyev, Sepet, Surt, Horatius, Azyr, and I believe Xavier? Would we beat the Lord of the Black Imperium?
1. if abbadon is alone you would need a crit in the right place but could win. (assuming black crystal). If he has any guards at all no
1ii three to all
2. yes

I really love these fun and cool, but ultimately useless answers.
@Durin How would things go if Arethea, with the full black Crystal Regalia (Including the parts we haven´t found yet) fights against Abbdon?

NANI!!!! UNLOCK?!?!?
We had Ridcully take another look at it few turns ago:
Double Down: Research: Black Crystal Items (Sword)- [snip]
Complete
year six roll d100=95+13(learning)+55(traits)+15(Roke Island)+20(double down)=184: Success

After a few years study High Grandmaster Ridcully was able to gather some more information about the Black Crystal Sword that you wield. He tells you that the Sword is far more powerful then the rest of the Black Crystal Jewellery, and was made for a different purpose. While Ridcully was not able to gain exactly what the purpose was the titles for the sword that he was able to divine. These titles of 'Death', 'Godslayer', 'The Final Truth', 'The End of All Things', 'The One True Promise' and 'Mortality' seem to indicate that the sword was made to kill that which is otherwise unkillable, most likely the C'Tan, the Gods or even both. Ridcully was also able to gather that you are currently not using the Black Crystal Sword to its full potential, though he does not know just how to access said potential.

it depends on how unlocked the sword it but she could win with good rolls, and would almost certainly not die
This is quite interesting, to say the least.

Another thing that I would like to ask @Durin is why Arethea is not in possession of any of the Black Crystal jewelry, she has been wandering in Avernus for too much time for her to not come into contact with it, and being the who she is can´t fathom why wouldn´t she try to get all of it, did she just realize that going full black crystal regalia wouldn't be fair for everybody else?

(I understand that the main gameplay reason is that she is a much newer addition to Avernus that the BCJ, but I would like to know if there is any narrative justification)

It's a bit weird how fast Rotbart has been collecting them. Something is going on there.

I guess the Black Crystal items are attracted/compatible with Rotbart.

I think Rotbart needs to be the one to unlock it by killing things with the sword.

Now I wonder if
Hero's Luck (+3C, more likely to get in dangerous situations, bonus to combat rolls in bad situations)
is more than it seems.
OR really if it has a chance of upgrading, becoming Hero's Destiny or something like that- enemies will seek him out, and he'll defeat them and unlock BCG's true potential.

Hmmmm which makes me wonder what his archetype is? Because hero even to Jacob is barred due to competition, would his be general maybe governor?

hmm, I wonder if maybe hero fragmented? the concept is unavailable, but it's easier to get traits that resonate with it? like how if you dissolve a bar of gold in a swimming pool it's hard to get the bar with a bucket, but easy to get a few fragments?

How about Warlord? If we manage to defeat Abbadon (and all this discussion really heads this way for some reason), main competitior will be dead.
Sure, right now it's a bad idea- BUT Rotbart is one C away from a Paragon, and who knows what threats goodies Avernus may throw at him. Who knows, maybe he'll land in Caverns like Jacob did, to lead some underground army and prevent destruction of the galaxy.

My conspiracy theory bet i that he will briefly lead the legion of the damned after going on a galactic tour of warpyness.

It is, Durin said that you can try to win an archetype under the umbrella of Hero (p.e. Knight Errant, Avenger, Saviour...) and those are less difficult to achieve, but since even in those minor heroic archetypes the competition is still immense, it is highly unlikely to get anything out of them.

I don't think that fits Rothbart he's not brutal enough?? Strategist might be a better one for him?

Champion Governor archetype?

It's a pipe dream though. Any mortal getting an archetype is near impossible. Ridcully only did it because he had 3 divine feats counting toward an archetype with very, very little competition. In fact the aforementioned Champion Governor would be in competition with Aelfric just in the Trust and outside the trust there's probably hundreds of others.

Rotbart might have a good go at the Accidental Hero archetype. Or the Good King archetype. (Accidental King Archetype?)
Jacob can be the Dork Knight or Kid Hero (You'll always be a child to us, Jacob).
Jane or Aria can be The Witch Hunter.
